My wife just read All-Star Superman, her first Superman story and she loved it. She told me that Superman is "just a good guy" and she really likes him.

The best Superman stories are the ones that humanize him. I typically don't enjoy the character, but there's something really special about that book.

It looks like crappy Squeenix Deathstroke is one of the first NYCC exclusives.

Edit:

Okay can someone explain something to me about Wicked plus Divine? Why do characters interrupt conversations to randomly do this like, 1-2-3-4 sound off thing? It's so bizarre to someone who doesn't understand what it's supposed to be.

Example from Issue #3

New Grendel??? and it's a The Shadow crossover?

must git.

Anyone here who is a fan of Matt Wagner read this yet? Does he do the story and the interior art as well as the cover??
Yeah I thought it was really good. I haven't read any of Grendel or The Shadow before this. Someone here posted a link to the preview and I had to check it out. Looked like the type of stuff I like.
But yeah I enjoyed it ,, good old school gangster/mobster story.

All-Star Superman was the first Superman story I really read and its what got me liking him. Before I just didn't really care all that much.
Now I am a lot more open to checking out Superman books and I am really liking him more n more. Currently pulling Superman and Batman/Superman.

Legion Trade Reading Order

There is, unfortunately, something of a gap in the collections during the Legion / Legionnaires era where we had two concurrent Legion books. Outside of the older stuff I'd suggest Mark Waids Legion as a weird, quirky, but fun take on the Legion that starts with "Teenage Revolution".

Other suggestions: Legion Secret Origin, Elseworlds: Superboys Legion, Titans/Legion: Universe Ablaze.
I'll just outbid ya on ebay instead. :p

A new printing of The Incal is coming out in two weeks, anybody read this? It there a certain reading order? Is it like the best comic ever?

It's one of the most beautiful, surreal books ever. Can't beat Moebius. I've actually got to pick up an older printing of the book at my local library on Monday. But really, people should jump on this before it's out of print and $200+. Fucking Moebius the god. Oh, and Jodorowsky. I mean come on, Dream team much?

Latest sensational issue is again enjoyable. Outside the rough start from Gail it's been very good. I like seeing different takes of WW every couple issues. This last one reminds me of Rucka's take of the character which of course pleases me greatly

Read something new. You might be dead soon, then you'll regret the reread.

Read Y. You might be dead soon. Then you'll regret reading something that was new and shit.

Don't do either. Go visit friends and family because apparently you're going to be dead soon.

This is an alarming trifecta. The only thing to do is visit friends extolling the virtues of Y while I read my backlog. Thanks for the help and it's been an honor serving with you, ComicsGAF.

Hahaha -Cade.. its been an honor. Yous guys are funny,,, cracking me up

Just read the first TPB of Ultimate Spider-man. Nice read I enjoyed that. I didn't know the story was so different from regular typical Spider-man history/story

This thread is too much.

Hmm. I'll probably have to get this. Worst case scenario, if I get cold feet I can resell it for a nice profit.

I'd like to commission a 2-4 panel strip of the legendary Kipp Omnibus reading position. Artist: Kipp.

Consider it done. Will start right now.
It will be a tale of life, love, and loss.

Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, what can/should I read? I've read nothing with then in it (other than their really short appearances in Doom Patrol).

I would also like to know the answer to this.
Those pages posted a few pages back were from Justice League International by Giffen I believe. Is that the best place to start?

Not to hype this up too much, but this is some next level couch drawing.
Prepare to be unprepared for this.

Its been like 6 months since the last kate bishop issue, no wonder i didnt remember much. Golf ham. Nice issue though.

Grayson #1 was okay, i was enjoying the last half better when it started to open up with what was going on, but i'm not sold on the series. Issue #2 is next on my reading agenda to see if i drop the book.
