PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Tearaway on ps4 is now aaa

You put 2 games with the same budget on both the PS4 and the Vita, and suddenly people call the PS4 one is AAA, while the Vita is port.

I'm just waiting to see if the problem really lie in the Vita or because people don't care about Tearaway.

I'm not sure if it will affect the Vita's version of Minecraft in anyway, but if it does, isn't it kinda hilarious (and sad) that Microsoft's move didn't manage to hurt the PS4 but somehow deal a blow to the Vita instead?

They could just stop giving any update and it'll be a pretty big blow,.since there aren't mods on PlayStation. I think that Minecraft shouldn't be an exclusive though. It'll lose part of what makes it so popular.

Might prefer FFX-2 then, as said--a bit faster paced, no switching in (though dressphere changes are similar), and no one is near-useless like Kihmari or Rikku before breaking out of their sphere grid. I found the Expert sphere grid does a pretty good job though.

Expert grid is definitely the best choice. And X-2 battle system was really good too. But I personally really liked X pure turn based aproach a little more. Knowing exactly when your opponent was going to attack and fully knowing how Haste / Slow (I don't know how those spells are for English Ff localizations) affected the battle was really nice.

FFX wasn't pure turn based! I actually loved the turn order system, once you got slow/haste, threaten, delay attack, and eventually quick hit it became a very interesting game of managing turn order. I'd love a return it that sort of system of turn management, but I'm sure all mainline FF games are required to be pure action from now on.

I'm just waiting to see if the problem really lie in the Vita or because people don't care about Tearaway.

All Vita games are ports, even if they came out first on Vita, same time on Vita or have more features on Vita. And if it isn't a port yet, it will retroactively be a port at some time in the future!!1
Sigh.

Isn't it Sony who develops and publishes those version of Minecraft anyway ?

I don't think they would license it like that without any kind of safety clausures included in contract.

Developed by 4J, published by Sony. I'm sure MS can't pull it down, but they can pull 4J from updating it. Not sure they would though.

Debating trading in Watch_Dogs and LoZ: ALBW in for Danganronpa 2. I have beaten neither game yet lol.

I would recommend you give ALBW some more time (to see if you want to beat it) before you trade that in. Getting rid of Watch Dogs is more then reasonable XD, as the game sadly isn't anything that special or unique (from what I saw online at least :l).

Even then though, beating Watch Dogs would be more of a slog due to its open world nature (having to beat the side missions, the story missions, the 'tower' missions, ect), so giving ALBW some more time would be the smarter move (as it shouldn't be that long till you reach the final dungeon I think).

I'd take Watch Dogs over ALBW any day of the week. Watch Dogs is better than people make it out to be. One of the best open world games around with a fuck ton of great content and some interesting online stuff. ALBW on the other hand is basically babies first Zelda. It does little great or interesting. It's a Zelda game without padding. That's the best thing I can say about it. The least shit Zelda but also one of the least good.

Between the Vita not being a hit platform with sales and the fact Microsoft is very lax in terms of handheld support of there IP (for example, they had no issues with Rare's GBA and DS games in the past, even when the Banjo and Viva Pinata IP's were used. Hell, there was even a DS version of Halo in the works XD!), I don't see them going above and beyond with shutting down Minecraft Vita.

If anything, they might be the reason we haven't seen a Minecraft Bundle happen yet (as Microsoft doesn't want that brand linked to PlayStation) :l.

I think it will get the update support though, as they would be doing it for ALL platforms (X1, PS4, and Vita), so it would be backwards to just focus on the X1 version when they had two other platforms to support as well.

Watch Dogs is that good? Well the more you know then :D. It honestly looked like 'just another' open world game to me personally, so that was where by bais came from; sorry for being ignorant on the game man :(. Glad to know it is better then I thought it was though :); might pick it up whenever I get my PS4 next year.

With Zelda.....kinda figured it wouldn't be that difficult, as it is the first game in the series since the very original to be that open with its dungeon progression. They need at least another game to fully get that stuff down pat (which is reasonable, as the Wii U Zelda will be the first 3D game to test the waters with that type of progression in the series), so it not being hard makes sense :). I still looks like a great game though, so sorry you didn't enjoy it :(.

Do it. You're not missing out on a whole lot with Watch Dogs and Zelda...well...it's decent but if you've played a handheld Zelda you've pretty much played this one before aside from a gimmick or two.

Tearaway on ps4 is now aaa
Like many Vita games if they ever pass on any other console.

Don't forget that vita also had no gamez, exclusivez, good games etc and PS4 is full of games but for some reason PS4 owners are super happy with Tearaway, Gravity Rush and Type 0 going to PS4 and see how they attack you if you say anything about Vita.

It's pure hypocrisy, between Vita's haters the ones i find more despicable are the PS4 fanboys, the wiiu is in a bad situation but how many times have you seen wiiu owners despising the 3ds or lamenting that a game should have been on wiiu instead of the 3ds?
There's nothing worse than having snakes within the "family".

The problem with letting you tackle the dungeons in any order is that almost all the dungeons have the same kind of difficulty level and it doesn't scale as wel as it should. I should clarify that I enjoyed the game. It just felt too simplistic for what I expect from a Zelda game.

That type of thinking those people have really confuse me :l. I mean, they have western 3rd party support AND lots of indie games (hell, a good number of them over-lap with Vita versions too).....so what are they pissed off about? They HAVE lots of games to play, just not many Japanese ones yet :l.

It could also be that people want more 1st party support on PS4 (like many of us do) but they want ANY first party software; ports and remasters included :(. I mean, yes, it is great Last of Us and Tearaway are jumping ship to new platforms and will get another audience....but they aren't new games, just a fancy port for the former and a great expanded port (it has to be due to the game being built FOR the Vita....makes it coming to PS4 all the more baffling :l).

I can see why they want Vita games on PS4 due to them giving the illusion of 'new' first party games coming to PS4 but.....then they shouldn't tell us Vita owners to "Just Dealz with its!", it is messed up and completely selfish X(.

Ugh, guess that is what happens for a new console launch, some people in the community just are not that pleasant to deal with :l.

Glad you enjoy the game at least :D. I can see that being a issue; Nintendo didn't know how to balance the difficulty of the dungeons with the new item system :(. I hope that is fixed for Zelda U though :D; with the 3D open world and more possibilities considering the perspective, the difficultly might be better :).

Every time I see the upcoming ps vita thread I ended up seeing new stuff im interested . I'm getting those telltale vita retail versions of wolf among us and walking dead s 2. I have already the first retail release of the latter. There is also that 2d horror platform game ( not PSM) that I'll be getting for sure in 2015 as well as the forgotten memories game . I need some horror theme games on my vita.

Happy about that too :D; loved S1 of Walking Dead on both PS3 and Vita. Considering the Vita version has my best save file, I would prefer playing S2 on Vita as well :). I'm also interested in seeing how Wolf Among Us runs/plays on Vita; heard great things about the game, so it would be cool to check it out.

I wonder how many people are going to think BoI is just another weird pixel indie and get sucked into playing it for 100 hours. Crazy game, and Rebirth seems set to fix basically all it's flaws (loading times, funky item combination bugs)

Unfortunately my launch PS4 controller analog stick has started to peel. I'm not exactly thrilled about having to pay for shipping to have it replaced though. Sounds like it would just be cheaper and faster to handle the replacement myself. If I wind up doing it myself, the idea of trying out a different stick type or improving the battery sounds nice as well.

Anyone have any experience with doing a replacement on their own and how it turned out? I haven't tried out the xbone controller, are those sticks worth looking into for a replacement?

Hope everything is ok. Sounds like you don't wanna sell...

thanks for saying that. i'm torn about it, but i'm trying to be more fiscally responsible in the face of financing a wedding. i'm gonna buy a n3DS eventually and can't really justify owning two handhelds.

What's a good deal? I Might bite.. If Anything post the offer or PM me =]

PM me ( or post) your good deal please... a little interested but not fully. more curious.

I'm still trying to gauge the market - I don't know how much it's worth. Gamestop offers $110 for the system, so I know it'll be a little more than that. i'm gonna include my pdp grip and a case for free.

It's a shame you're parting with your Vita, but you'll always be part of VitaGAF.

<3

you're getting the n3DS right? hehe but no worries, you are still a bro

i will always love handheld gaming!

Don't make the biggest mistake of your entire life.

vita and i have been through a lot, but sometimes you need to know when to call off a relationship.

I am hoping there is a similar reaction to BoI as there was to Rogue Legacy, people getting absolutely sucked in. Original BoI is still to me the best purest form roguelike I have ever played, with a great sense of progression despite totally starting from scratch each game. I am so happy I am getting it for PS+.

So with regards to the free games with PS+, I don't have to download them to keep them, do I? As long as I am a member, they will always be there for me to access.

Well Watch Dogs is getting traded and I've decided to trade in Kirby Triple. There is nothing about that game that entices me to keep it plus I got it for free in that Best Buy deal a few months ago. I shall have Danganronpa 2 by the evening. Despair returns!

Guys, please. Let's not attribute the absence of a Minecraft bundle to Microsoft's buyout.

We all know Sony never gave a shit and would've never done it regardless.

Sorry you are getting rid of Kirby :(; heard great things about that game. But at least you can play DR2 now :D! Everyone here loves the game, so hope you enjoy it man :D!

Well, the buy out COULD be part of the reason :l. I mean, at least SCEE would have had a Minecraft Bundle, as they have lots of bundles on games (just this year they got a Ratchet Trilogy bundle with the PS Vita 2000).

That being said, I don't think the Microsoft's buyout was the reason, as they are famously lax when it comes to to handheld support for owned/original IP (they didn't care that Rare was making GBA and DS games, not to mention they brought other IP to DS like the Mech combat game (don't know the IP's name though....) and was considering putting Halo on DS).

You have to "claim" them. Purchase them on the SEN website/mobile app, and once the red shopping bag icon appears, they're yours. Download isn't necessary but that is

???
Is Monster Monpiece gone?

still in the store for me

Yep, I heard great things about Kirby too. Actually I own it thanks to one of those D1 gamestop promotion, but I didn't even try it lol.

Man, I have a hell of a backlog across Vita, 3DS and PS3... now onto SOTC HD!

Don't get me wrong. The little bit I played of it was fun, but ultimately if you played Kirby's Dreamland, you really aren't missing much. It's the same formula just prettier.

So now that more of you chaps and ladies experienced the sexiness that is Monokuma
What did you think of DanganRonpa 1?
Feel free to use spoiler tags for the sake of those nearing the end of the game~

You make a good point; the core gameplay is lifted from Dreamland/Super Star, so it isn't like it was completely unique or anything :l. The 3DS game did have some cool things of its own though (the 3D effects being cool additions to the level design for example) :).
