Is there any gallery of the Shaders yet? I wish we could preview it on our Guardians. Only 4 to purchase is a little annoying and 2 look pretty much the same and 3 are purple.

I saw one guy today with an awesome orange/white shade but I didn't get a chance to message him since he left early in the mission.

I really want something thats full red with white or black. :(

Thanks for this reply. It took me a bit to realize I needed more light but it's just not happening. I see people with items having +15 light. The only legendary items I've gotten so far are for Hunters (I'm a Titan). I'm going back in and as soon as I hit 21 I think I'm going to try looking for groups to do the Heroic Level 22 stuff with. I've mostly been playing solo.

Gotta say though, I've been REALLY lucky with the matchmaking in strikes. Everyone seems to work really well together, even without being able to speak to each other.

Hey someday. I'm happy to team up to get some light-loot. I'm on the cusp of level 20 too. Happy to do no voice chat.

The arena one? I played it last night and was a little disappointed it was literally just an enclosed arena.. but the introduction of the vex was a little scary. The music and tone was great and there were just so many in that first wave. It was pretty evocative and terrifying seeing those awful red lamps stare at you..

But yeah, agreed.
 
So, I've only been doing a few PUGs in terms of playing with other people. No one uses voice chat. At all. Same goes with team-based PvP scenarios.

I'm playing on PS4. I'm wondering if I have some setting turned off or something. Do I have to enable something in the menu that I can't seem to find to hear voice chat from other players?

I've played Warcraft (and other MMOs), I understand the idea of a weekly raid lockout. But I'm wondering which of the following we'll get:

Type A: When you run a raid, you're assigned a raid ID. For that week, you can only run with people that have that raid ID. If you kill 2 bosses, then pull in someone that has no raid ID assigned, they get your raid ID and miss out on the first 2 bosses. (vanilla WoW worked this way)
Type B: If you do a raid and kill 2 bosses, you can then run with any group that has already killed the first 2 bosses. If they have also killed the 3rd, you miss out on it by joining their raid group. (I think WoW worked like this for a short time, I could be mistaken)
Type C: You can run any raids any number of times with any group of people. You only get rewarded for the first kill of a boss in any given week. (The way WoW currently works)


I have a group of friends that will be interested in trying raids, but I don't think they have any idea what kind of time and scheduling commitment they're going require. Also, I'm probably not going to be geared for the raid when it comes out, and they're all pretty far behind me. I'm hoping Destiny uses Type C, so I can find a more serious group to get my raiding done, and then help my friends out as well in a different group.

Dcuo has replay badges (micro transactions even for subs) to reset instances, I suspect activision will do the same.

Just made 26 (raid ready!)

Seems that you can do the weekly strike more than once in a week if you choose a higher difficulty. Apologies if this has been covered already.

1st level gives you 3 strange coins + rep
2nd level gives same, with more rep
3rd level gives 6 coins and more rep

Would love to try the 2nd level if anyone has already done the first and wants to team up to try it. Has anyone already done the 2nd difficulty level?

You can only chat with people in your fireteam, PVP teammates and people you group with for strikes are not fireteam members unless you invite them.

Had an amazing Skirmish match just now. B.net doesn't show the team scores for some reason, but the enemy team was five points away from winning -- they could have sneezed and gotten the victory. But we went ballistic on them and squeaked out a win. Felt so satisfying.

Thanks again for the games! Need to get more Crucible in and get a better feel for it. Getting disconnected so often sucks.
 
Just beat the game. That storyboard awful. None of my questions were answered. In fact I have more question now than I did before.

How do I level up past twenty? I don't really understand that.

Some items have a stat which is 'light', each X amount of light combined levels you up.
 
After a total of ~35 Crucible matches, I just played on two maps I haven't even seen before.
If they won't implement map voting, then they should please work on the map rotation.
 
I had a somewhat muted reaction to this game initially, but it's really got it's hooks in me now. I love the liveliness of the world when you just randomly encounter groups of people in the world. I love the feeling of progression as I level up and get better weapons. Initially I was unlocking identical looking weapons with better stats, but now I'm starting to see more unique guns.

I'm sure it helps that this is truly my first loot heavy game. So I don't have a point of comparison, but the shooting is fun and I like the general experience a lot. I think this game is best experienced socially. It's a very dry solo experience. Even if you don't have friends playing it, invite randoms into your strike team, or join theirs. It makes the game so much better IMO.
 
So does anyone on the ps4 feel like running the nexus strike with me? so we can jump off the cliff for an hour or so while hoping the rng gods bless us with fat stacks of loot. You can be any lvl post 20 you want, I can carry you all the way to the cliff we're going to be jumping off of. I'm going to do it at lvl 24 to guarantee the fattest loot possible. Send me at message at YzeNup on psn. If you don't know what I'm talking about watch the youtube link below. I will most likely be unable to talk at this time though because my gf is sleeping in the room but honestly just listen to a podcast or watch some tv, this will require the bare minimum of attention.

Yes. When you unlock a new subclass, you have to level it up from scratch. So, no grenades, improved jump, special melee, or super for a short while. It's best to do bounties as your first subclass, then switch to the new one before turning in the bounties so that one gets the XP.

Huh. I put in a hour into PVP and am now over levelled for any of the available story missions and will pretty much breeze through them.


This game. What were they thinking?
 
I am up to level 16, just unlocked Venus and am loving every second of it. Love how when Public events happen, everyone just beelines for it and it's a mass of Guardians taking down something.

Wish I had more time for the game...still got a long ways to go.
