Legendary engrams are completely borked, every single one that I have gotten thus far has given me blue items.

Bungie pls.
Same here, man. Same here.

:(

Right..so I deleted my copy of Digital Guardian edition from my PS4 to try and resolve the issue of not being able to access the dlc, and now when I try to download it again the PS4 downloads the beta.

I go to the store and it doesn't show as purchased, reset my licenses and no different.

Grr....

The last two missions on Venus finally offered a change of pace.

This game truly shines when the level design allows it. When you're just fighting endless waves in one room it becomes a drag. Unfortunately, that is 90% of the game and I'm beginning to notice it.

How about some vehicle based missions where I'm jumping ledges and running over enemies while my co-op buddy shoots from the back seat? Where are the turrets and exploding barrels? These are shooter tropes that I never thought I'd miss, but for fuck's sake, give me some options once in a while.

Why are people so bad this game? I shouldn't take video games seriously but holy shit there's nothing more annoying than terrible teammates bringing you down. FFA is about to be my new friend.

Kinda regret being split across two platforms now. Have a Hunter on PS4 which is where I started playing with a couple of friends and now have a Titan on Xb1 as I have a bunch of friends playing their too. It's nice to be able to play with everybody but my OCD wants it all on one platform now.

This. I doubled dipped to play on PS4 with co-workers, but my main is my Titan on XB1 any time I'm playing PS4 i'm thinking I could be grinding for my Titan instead. Or worse, what if I get a awesome Titan drop on PS4.

God damn it Bungie, why couldn't the characters be centralized.

Dammit I keep getting winters run in random strikes and I really don't like it :(

If anyone wants to farm nexus or do strikes or something feel free to add me: CptPierate

Edit: I'm lvl 23 btw

See i look at Destiny differently, i see what is currently released as being nothing more than the bare minimum groundwork with a vauge story that serves only to introduce the guardians and the enemies, while presenting the player with certain plot points that are not followed up on.

I consider it a hub from which they intend to grow the game in all aspects, we go through story lines and are introduced to things like the last warmind rasputin activating and eventually reaching out to and using other networks but its left at that, the situation with the queen and her brother is also left ambiguous. I feel as though they have huge plans for where to take both the gameplay and the story but want to do so over the course of time and use these updates for both revenue and to keep the core players interested or at least wiling to hold on to the game and pick up play again when they next feel the desire.

with that in mind it makes much more sense to me, and the overly obviois suggestion at the end of the story currently that states in no uncertain terms that this is just the beginning only further underlines that.

As far as groundwork for a story goes, this has to be the worst foundation I've ever seen.

Mass effect was the foundation for a universe. It introduced the relevant races, galactic politics, and the relevant forces at work in detail. It provided lore material in game that players could read at their leisure. But perhaps that's too much to hope for.

Halo: CE levels of foundation would be more than reasonable. It showed off two warring factions, showed that humanity was outgunned fighting a losing battle against a superior and apparently religious force. It brought in the unknown, the precursor's Halo installation and the flood to shake things up and showed the player how both forces reacted to it, showing covenant suicide squads making last ditch attempts to salvage the situation, allowing you to infer even more about the enemy's culture.

But no, what we got was lines stating that Vex are invincible right before you go and kill a ton of them, that they're eviler than evil and kill what should be their allies for no apparent reasons, the Fallen can apparently be controlled for unexplained reasons, the Awoken are living in a starship debris field for unexplained reasons. I could go on, but I'm sure you get my point.

2-3 days. but i play a lot of crucible and bounties play into the rep gain as well too.

imo, everything levels higher in the crucible. maybe medals + score count as actual exp or something but if you're any good the progression shits all over pve

if you're good

if not, hang around and be that guy that gets gifted a legendary ship and exotic off the back of someone going 30-1 lol

Right. I've been level 20 for a few days now.

I've just played so much Crucible today alone and I'm not even close to a relevant faction rank (Crucible or other). Thing is, I'm not even that into the Crucible and would much rather play PvE, but all the lv20 strikes I've done have only given me a shitload of blue engrams that decrypt into useless sub-lv18 gear. So I'm pretty much stuck with Crucible, which I don't love, and which also likes to shit on me with drops. I feel like I've put enough time in to earn something, but my character's gear now is pretty much the same when I started Crucible close to 8 hours ago (now that I think about it). That just seems crazy to me.

Fuuuuuuuuu

Did some Crucible. All good, bounties, kills, /dance etc and I get back to cryptarch and I unscramble and get a strange coin. no problem. I notice I'm so close to next lvl cryptarch so I spend 5000 glimmer on engrams to push me over so I get the delivery and 2 rare engrams to decode. I decode them and this time I get a legendary! But also 1 strange coin.

Now I'm ONE coin away! FFS.

Also, lvl24 now if anyone wants to try and run the lvl26 version of the weekly heroic strike?
PS4: ZombaXIII

Any multiplier whatsoever for playing with others? Exp? Gear? Monster health?

Don't force yourself to do pvp if you would rather pve. I have 0 games played in the crucible and like 60 strikes played. While you won't get an upgrade every game they will come, just have to be patient. I love strikes, hopefully we get more in a timely manner <3

There's also bonuses too....

tracking them is a pain because there isn't any place to look for them outside of bungie's site, but they pay off as well

i've hit level 23 off of nothing but rares that slowly outperform the last rare so i think its possible to be raid ready by tuesday without farming or spending those 13 strange coins. i think something better and more expensive will be available for purchase so i'm just gonna keep rolling the dice

Dat Moon Strike.

As if that giant isn't enough, you turn around and get swarmed by 3 Knights with a sword and a bunch of Wizards.

Any hints?

I know they kept saying the real game starts at the end game but more and more it's looking like it's no different than 1-20. They just expect me to keep playing the same strikes over and over and over to get better loot to increase my light rank. That would be fine if the Strikes were guaranteed to drop loot but it's not. You play a Strike for 15-20 mins and you don't get shit.

In my opinion the way loot drops has got to be the first thing they patch in this game because it's not nearly satisfying enough. Every single boss at the end of the strike should drop loot. It's only fair for playing it over and over and over again.

It would also be nice to decrease the health of all the bosses by like 50% or so cos those boss fights aren't mechanically interesting enough to last that long. They just have 200% more health than every other enemy.

The map on the Moon with the vehicles in Control is quite literally the least fun I've ever had in any PvP game ever. The vehicles are bad, the turrets are bad, and the spawn points are ridiculous. You spawn and have to run out in the open for like 10-15 seconds and anyone in a vehicle will just instantly kill you.

If I get that map again, it's easier to just leave and re-queue rather than die over and over again for 15 minutes.

story missions and strikes (mostly all pvp) will tell you explicitly in the description if there is a exp bonus, guaranteed type of item drop, marks, rep, etc rewarded on completion. the description will also show you what skulls are active, arcburn, juggler, heroic, etc (scrolling over these will tell you exactly what they do)

crucible exp is... weird. sometimes bungie will have a game mode on the left of the screen showing that there are addition incentives to playing that gametype at the time though.

All my friends have been busy with real life. I'm lvl 20 and they are all 8 or 9. Need them to shirk their responsibilities and play with me damn it.

I've seen that, but it's never the game mode I feel like playing at the moment. What could I be getting if I participated in that?

Anyone else having an issue with the iphone version of the companion app?

It was working fine, then two days ago it started to fail to load my characters. You just get the tap to refresh characters message.

I can click in my profile at the top and then click in my characters there to view stats and stuff, but I can't view my grimoire, or tower map from the main menu.

I've tried deleting the app cache, signing in and out with both PSN and Live and deleting the app and reinstalling.

Anyone got a workaround?

Drops is not the guaranteed way to gear up. Rep and Marks are. People need to stop thinking that this is just like Borderlands because it's not.

Focus on the minions, keep the fire team together but with some spacing between you - so you can revive each other and help cover each other's flanks, call out sub bosses like knights and wizards and focus fire on them until they're toast. Eventually he runs out of minions believe it or not, then you can concentrate on the big guy alone.

On strikes where the minions never stop coming, consider having one player focus on the minions and rear/flank protection while the other two players prioritize the boss. This player can still unleash hell on the boss when they have the opportunity or heavy ammo.

Thanks man, and about the bolded part, we actually thought the minions would be endless so we focused on the big guy.

have your team separate so that fire isn't constantly falling down on top of everyone. have people ready to focus on the adds - the spawn points don't change, but you can absolutely get rid of the wizards as they appear and the nights on top of the structures. make it a priority because you can't dodge them and the boss at the same time for long.

make sure people aren't so focused on criting the boss that they forget to watch for spawns. make use of the pillars as cover at all times. use the back of the map only when you know a ship isn't coming in. if you're going to kite a mob, let people know. remind people to use their heavy weapons (no, seriously) and to get the most out of their supers

the strike isn't that bad. it just highights fucked up teams and shitty communication

its usually bonus exp. rollover to see exactly what it is though.

two people for Nexus?

Add me! Drubbed

Will also be streaming....

I have got to the point where I actually had a dream about legendary enrgrams....

Lord help me!

Oh my god Fireborn in the Sunslinger subclass is god like. I thought being able to come back from the dead would just be it, use your super to come back from the dead and surprise people and kill them but no! You get the full Radiance effect too! So you rise like a fireball flinging phoenix! Thowing fireballs and punching people with your Falcon Punch!

Praise the Sun motherfuckers!

#Sunbro

Today so far:

7 houes of Nexus
6 hours of PvP
7 hours if that other Venus farm spot

0 legendaries
0 exotics

Yeah.

I'm playing this game like a maniac but it's rewarding me like vanilla D3.

Well, tonight ended better than expected. Did some PVP, finally got my Exotic gauntlets from the tentacle face.

Was going to get off, but friend convinced me to play some Salvage. Did it, got an engram to get my Cryptarch to level 5. Got the package that gave me two legendary engrams, and both spat out legendaries.

Feels good man.

Thank you too!

We tend to underestimate the game every now and then, not sure why.

With these hints I'm sure we'll beat it today. :)
