For me its a completely different gameplay style.
I usually play BF4 and maybe some CoD and I think I'm pretty good at both of those. But PvP in Destiny is different and I am slowly learning the mechanics.
A basic 1 on 1 gun fight and I usually win, but when you have grenades that follow you and all the other powers then I just become a horrible mess.
Looks like we've got it ;D Give me a second to switch my PS4 on and load Destiny!
I'm just kinda, doing whatever in the game.
I still need to finish Mars and the story, I haven't done a full patrol on venus yet.
Still missing one strike (the PS4 exclusive one) and have only played 3 out of 5 PvP modes.
I basically just do whatever i feel like at the moment instead of farming. Game is a long term game,no need for me to rush things with farming and such.

Yesterday for me: 8 legendary engrams, 3 strange coins (4 short from the Exotic) and 7 blues with one(!) lvl20 upgrade. I think Bungie needs to change their d100. I mean, what are the odds?
EDIT: Oh yeah, and a Legendary headpiece... for a Hunter and I'm a Warlock. Yay!
I feel my strafing and sniping from playing Halo most of my childhood/teenage years really transferred over to Destiny. Especially the strafing. Its amazing how nimble I've been in firefights using the Fusion Rifle against other players ARs, shotties, scout rifles, etc. Sucked at Battlefield, though. Halo and CoD have always been my go to shooters.

It might not be but it doesn't change the fact that the drop rate is not good enough. If you reach level 20 you're pretty much expected to keep playing the same strikes to get better loot and you might play 3 in a row and not get shit.
So when you get Vanguard Marks and Reps you're expected to go buy the loot from Vendors? At that point why have loot drop in the game if you're just gonna buy it from the Vendor. Some parts of this game are just really frustrating.

i did the level 24 strikes until I had about 75 tokens before I got my first legendary. this is on top of me having 100 crucible tokens.

Well, I just completed the Black Garden...
Easily one of the worst story modes/campaigns I've ever completed. My lord, that ending cutscene. Elle. Oh. Elle.
Some context: I was not hyped for Destiny. I was aware of the hype and why through relevant articles/discussions here on Gaf, etc, but I more or less decided to buy it on a whim because I like loot and shooting things.
Yet, even in light of all of this, I get the overwhelming sense that what Bungie "sold" us is not at all what they sold us. It's the scope, first and foremost, that is severely lacking. The amount of raw content just isn't that impressive, hype or no hype. At level 21, I've hit the point where the carrots on strings are few and far between (or terrible) without some serious grinding, which I personally don't want to consider.
And even if I was that sort of gamer, the fact still persists that this "end game" is merely a more difficult retreading of the main game, of which 90% has been seen upon completion of the story mode and 100% is uninspired, monotonous, bullet-spongey shit.
There's only so much that tight mechanics can do, Bungie. If your encounter design consists solely of 'deploy Dinklebot, defend waves, deploy Dinklebot, pump sponges', these tight mechanics you've crafted don't get to shine; they become a fun-sapped chore.
The loot is awesome, but holy fuck, I have a little bit of a life, so I will concede that I am not the ideal Destiny player. It just does nothing that well, I think.

So I'm posting my question here since it's so hard to find info related to Destiny on Gaf right now.
What is expected exactly in term of additional content? I'm still on the fence about buying this game, I enjoyed the beta but I'm predominantly against paying dlc. I sometimes buy dlc (Dishonored, GTA etc...) but I will not put the price of a game in additional content in order to finally have some depth and variety.
Do they plan to add some game changing content for free or is it sure that we will have to pay for it?

That's not completely clear. They're adding a mission soon apparently. They're putting in the one raid they have and talked about already on tuesday. They have special events that temporarily bring out additional game modes for pvp(kinda an annoying decision, imo). However, it's not clear how much they'll add for free.
I wouldn't be surprised if they add some new loot, however I feel as if anything big and significant will probably have to be paid for.
When you turn in a bounty you have a chance of getting an exotic weapon bounty. You have to choose between several and stick with it until you complete it (you need to accomplish a bunch of tasks to craft the weapon).

Reviews for this are pretty shocked, apparently it's the second lowest reviewed game which I own on the PS4, the lowest being Shadow Fall (and only by two points) which I just find to be insane.
I just hit Level 20 with my Warlock and have mostly rare items, hopefully I'll start gaining some Legendary and Exotic stuff soon. I have the Limited Edition (boxed) and haven't redeemed the Expansion Pass yet and will only do so when I know what the content is, otherwise I will sell it.
