Edit; TOTP 50ppp peasants (like me)

Buy all the Danganronpas, buy Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment, and pre-order Freedom Wars.

Hello VitaGAF (and everyone else),

I'm kinda embarrassed about it, but after registering over a year ago and waiting patiently for that confirmation e-mail, I gave up after a few months without notice and resigned myself to visitorely lurking on this forum. Turns out my account has been approved nearly instantly and I only discovered that by trying a log-in tonight out of boredom. Heh.

So yeah, new guy here, even though I've been reading on here since a few years already. Currently playing DR2 after finishing DR1 over the weekend. Though it didn't manage to blow my mind like 999 did at the time, it still oozed its own charme and lots of despair, so definitely looking forward to seeing what part 2 has in store.

First post here -- been lurking over a year.

PS2/3/4 and... 64gig vita that takes almost all my gaming time. Picked up the white vita two black fridays ago and haven't looked back since... never thought a handheld would be for me till vita.

Currently plat'ing V2X and Danganronpa on the side. Favorite system of all time... from the TxKs and the Luftrausers to the Uncharteds and Killzones to the Demon Gazes and Danganronpas... have well over 100 vita games, and probably another 100 in psp and ps1 games. (I'd be in the 256g club if I could)

Generally really positive about most things. There are tons of upcoming vita games I'm looking forward to, and my backlog will take me a lifetime anyway. I wish we'd get AAA games too, but since we didn't buy the ones they did make I understand why we're not and don't have any ill will towards Sony for their decisions. If anything, I'm psyched they tried multiple strategies until we (buyers) made the indie one stick.

Looking forward to Natural Doctrine. I know it's supposed to be nails hard but that doesn't phase me. Heck, the crazy screens of turn layout make me want it all the more.

I do want some psp games to magically show up some day (metal gear acid, warhammer squad command, d&d tactics, etc), and I want to be able to sort my downloads (w/o that web mod)... but in general? Vita = life.

Welcome to Vita Gaf :D! Been a lurker most of last year myself (tried to sign up for a while but my Gmail never worked X(), but once I signed up with my College Email and waiting for a month or two, I became a member :).

I know you must know this already (as you said you've been a lurker here for a while) but seriously check out Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable if you haven't yet. Both are really great JRPG's that offer tons of content, amazing soundtracks and some great stories.

If you have ever watched the anime, I highly recommend Sword Art Online: Hallow Fragment too. It is a bit to fan service-y at times but that can largely be ignored. Between almost THREE games worth of content, great visuals/music, fun combat and lots of content to play with, you will have a great time with this one :). Just keep in mind you might need to watch the first 14 episodes of the anime to fully understand the story (just....don't watch the second half.....seriously, it isn't good at all X().

Either way, enjoy your stay on Gaf man :D! Great community here :).

Welcome to NeoGaf man :D! My account took a while to be approved too (at least one-three months) but once I became a member, I loved coming to this place and finally being part of the NeoGaf community :).

Glad you are enjoying DR2; everyone on Gaf said that was a great game, so I'm glad the hype was really for you :). Gotta get those games myself sometime (....really want to clear my backlog first though; owning 160+ games is crazy XD!).

And I know everyone will kill me, but this was my biggest problem with P4G as I have mentioned before. English only, and I didn't love the VA job. For example, Chie always sounded really fake and overacted, and Yukiko had odd emphasis placed in some of her sentences. Obviously fantastic game, but I would've enjoyed it more with Japanese vocals (which I can confirm because I watched the anime in japanese and had none of those problems, had other problems with that though hah).

Well, I think no one will kill you for this, as Gaf is actually pretty open minded about this stuff compares to other places, like, Atlus forum. Have to say I share you sentiment and the reason I can't bring myself to play P4G since I have been playing the original game on PS2 a lot, and the thought of replaying it again doesn't sound to appealing with the English dub.

At least after many years of shouting my heart out, seems like more and more publishers realize the important of dual voices option.

Now I just remember Fairy Fencer F is just around the corner. Gotta buy that one too.

No the fan service isn't a bit...If you are going to ignore large part of the game, don't bother.

Like in Persona 4, you can't ignore. It's there and part of game. And it will be same for Persona 5, waifu will be there waiting to be picked.

Well, it can technically be ignored (via skipping the events), so that is why I pointed it out :l. The big bulk of the game is the combat and exploration anyway (and the Hallow Area completely forgoes the fan service all together from what I played of that so far), so the story can take a back seat.

I never had a issue with the fan service in Persona 4 either :l; I mean, you are given the option to date one of the girls, you don't have to pick that option if you don't want to (unlike in Persona 3 where you HAVE to date them no matter what).

Tried both, didn't like either. I'm know I'm a heathen. I'm in the camp that doesn't like the social links -- I want my dungeon crawlers to be dungeon crawlers. I do want to like it though.

Sort of OT. About to watch the Sword Art Online for the first time since the game got me interested in it. Should I go with the sub or dub? Netflix defaulted to Japanese audio :lol

I'd always recommend sub.

However, I'll be honest, if anything I'd recommend not to watch it. I'd rather waste my limited time on show like Log Horizon instead.

Thats cool man :D; some games aren't for everyone. I know I was intimidated when I started playing Golden, as that was my first JRPG I played in quite some time (the last ones were was the Paper Mario, M&L Series and KH series). But I got sucked into it and loved the game in the end.

The core gameplay is far from perfect (the dungeons aren't that interesting at all in terms of interactiveness) but the story makes up for it. Sucks you don't like the S. Link system but again, sometimes games aren't for everyone :).

Watch the Sub first and skip the second half of the season (15-25). The first half is really good but the second half....isn't that great at all X(. If you start to like the characters, you will hate what they do to them in the second half :(. I watched both the sub and the dub and both are great ways to experience the show :). I prefer the Subbed version (as the JP voice acting just looks more natural for this show to me) but either one is fine.

Yeah I've been told I should not watch the second half :lol

Just watched the first episode with the English dub. It wasn't too bad, so I think I'll stick to that. Main characters VA sounds a bit bored but w/e

That is why I prefer the JP version; the VA for Krito sounds much more interested in what's happening around him.

The reason the second half is so bad compared to the first half is due to how they shift the story. The first half shows how everyone is trying to cope and deal with living in the digital world. But the second half just completely ignores that side of the story and it boils down to a fucked up version of Mario Brothers if Princes Peach was tormented by Bowser while the hero goes on his merry adventure to save her X(.

You don't. Better yet, you can't. You could just add $40 to your account.

You can if you have a master race region account.

so how i in the world do i get those pre-order freebies?!

SCEA solution is to buy it in the first two weeks or is it first week? Whatever it is.

Doesn't change the fact kirito is still the dullest character....

God dammit Wynne. At least get the name right!

Upupupupupu!

How beary exciting!
