PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

and is Cross-Save not working in Olli Olli?!

My cross save is working fine. One of the better cross saves as I just play the game like I normally would on Vita and when I load it on PS4 my progress is where it was on Vita. But every so often it asks me to connect like 3 times in a row on Vita and never does, might be what happened.

I got nothing for TOTP, there was nothing new last week and everything else has been recommended already. Buy the second half of the SAO anime's first season.

Upupupupupu!

How beary exciting!

Holy fucking shit. This is terrifying

so how i in the world do i get those pre-order freebies?!

It was also with digital in Japan. If you bought it in the first two weeks.

Let me tell you though, that the only true "worthy" one is the Formal Wear. Decals are not worth it, IMO. They should have just allowed us to customize our own instead of fucking selling it. >_>

The weapons are complete bull for "useful at the start".

hmm the thing is.. my Vita save isn't brought to my PS4 though
PS4 still shows my unlocked progress on Vita locked

But you could pre load and pre order tho.. I got the SSD decals though from early trial, and I doubt they are releasing those stuff here....

Hi everyone, I got my account validated about a week ago and I have been lurking this thread for over a year :P. This is the thread that I regularly visit and I hope to be part of this community.

Got GTA: Vice City Stories from the sale for my Vita. Saved some coins for the next good sale :)

I have a question for my fellow VitaGAFfers with Borderlands 2. Is it normal to crash in The Dust? I've been having this problem with the missions in that area, it keeps crashing after 5-10 minutes into the area. The only crashes I've had.

1 month away until Playstation TV [aka Vita TV] comes out in NA. Anyone getting one?
Hopefully.

I desperately need a new streaming box for Netflix, but the lack of Amazon streaming (unless they add it to the U.S. Version) is going to make it a hard sell with my wife. I'll have to see what my cash situation looks like closer to release.

I could check this myself but is Plex confirmed to have an app for Playstation TV?

Was looking for an answer to this, but the first page of Google has failed me. Playstation's website for it, and the Amazon page to pre-order it both don't list whatever video apps are on it. Odd.

It'd be downright silly if it didn't have Netflix, and I assume that since PS3 has a Crunchyroll app, so should the PSTV.

Dang, I'll hold off until we get impressions from owners in that case.

So I've finally decided to quit Destiny of Spirits for good. I've been playing nothing else on my Vita since this released, so it feels good to be finally free of it's clutches.

Anyways, I have a lot of catching up to do, so help me decide what game to play next. Here's the list of games I'm considering

Danganronpa 2 (I just finished PLvsPW, so I'm thinking I'll save this one for next next game I play)
Akiba's Trip
Tearaway
New Little King's Story
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1
Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited
Muramasa Rebirth (played the Wii version, really liked it)
DJMax Technika Tune (still need to plat this, and might be a good game to play before DR2)
Don't Starve: Giant Edition
Lone Survivor
Rocketbirds

And these are just the main ones I'm considering. Vita had too many games. Oh, and how is that SAO game? Worth $40? Or should I wait for a sale?

I think you should finish Danganronpa 2 as soon as possible (only if you have finished the first one). The longer you wait, the higher you're risking yourself stumbled upon a spoiler which could ruin your whole experience with the game. You could play Muramasa in between chapters of DR2 in case you need a little bit of mental break.

The SAO game is good as far as I know. I've heard people and my friends praised it, but haven't had time to touch it yet.

Will you be able to use a US account on a Japanese VitaTV once it's out here?

And are there any thoughts on the Danganronpa LE Vitas? Can barely find anybody talking about it, let alone better photos.
Do Sony Store LEs sell out quickly? (I'm guessing low supply, with it not being in proper retailers), will it be impossible to find like the Miku Vita or easy to find like the God Eater Fenrir edition? If the former, I'm guessing you'd want to place an order well before release date just in case.

I was tempted by the VitaTV until I realized the design isn't as good (why the giant numbers?), can't decide..

In short, don't stay in this thread. Get out and never come back! Never come back! Never come back!

Yeah, I'm kinda concerned about getting spoiled for DR2 as well. I guess I'll go with that and play a few rounds of Technika Tune to keep things fresh.

Tried to search but couldnt find. PS EU Blog posted new trailer for Magicka 2, which is coming to PC & PS4. Trailer here. Very hilarious trailer :).

EU PS Blog said:
Chaos sure is beautiful, right? Just like the original game, Magicka 2 is a game where you and up to three friends control Wizards on a quest through the far away and baffling realm of Midgård, combining eight elements into a series of devastating spells to slay your foes and, sometimes, “accidentally,” slay your friends.

Magicka 2 will be immolating your enemies and fracturing your friendships on the PS4 in early 2015.

Google disagrees. 3 of first 5 links for "ps vita tv region lock" say it can't use US accounts.

Do you have any articles that say otherwise? Or own one?
What he means is not being able to use US accounts right now =/= region lock. The error message says the service isn't available in your country, which means the US region Vita TV store doesn't exist yet (regular Vita store and Vita TV store are 2 separate entities). This was the same way for regular Vitas when they released in Japan months before the US. For all we know once the US Vita store is up it could work on a Japanese Vita TV (Asia region works).

Ah, got it. Thanks for the clarification.

Got "c2-12828-1" error while playing V2X... just shat in my pants as I checked what it was about before launching the game again and I found this:
This is caused by invalid processing on the application side. If this occurs even when the system is restored, the saved data is probably corrupted.

luckily the savegame is still there...now I'll constantly make cloud backups

Kinda mixed on that one to be honest. Combat is complex, interesting and addictive and goes hand in hand with some nice exploration and lots of loot. But the terrible localisation, nearly non-existant story and shallow characterization bring the game down a few notches and will likely annoy you more if you're not familiar with the novels/anime or didn't like it all that much. Despite that it is worth the asking price, the game is huge and will only get larger with the content patch next week, it's more of a question of gaming priority and if it's ultimately worth your time too.

I too would say to go on with Danganronpa 2. Muramasa Rebirth is a solid choice to play on the side, but I'd recommend to try out some of the DLCs, especially if you already played the Wii-Version. They are a great take on the combat system and far more interesting to play than Momohime/Kisuke. Other than that, game looks beautiful on the Vita, controls really well (jump button makes all the difference) and the retranslation was necessary, first time I even understood what was happening in the game.

There's a DJMax game on the vita!? O_o I loved that series on the psp!! Gah! But $45 is a bit steep. Has DJMax technica ever gone on sale?
DJ Max on Vita uses touch controls like the arcade games, if you want something more similar to DJ Max games on psp there is a really recent PSM game that looks good but i don't remember the name(but you will easily recognize it if you look at newer games).
Another good rhythm game but that's like DJ Max technica tune(so with touchscreen controls) is Cytus Lambda, another PSM game.

I believe that PSM game is called MUSYNC.

I had my first hard crash with a Vita game yesterday: Joe Danger. It was in one of the training levels, in the second to last batch. The framerate was tanking BAD, so I guess the system run out of memory when it crashed. But apart from that, I have encountered a noticeable amount of bugs in this game. There's a loop that can't be placed (without a workaround, at least) a few levels back, and in this very same level the hitbox of some spikes that surround one of the DANGER letters is waaaaay too big. I've heard that there are a couple of races with glitched golden trophies...

Too bad, because Joe Danger is an amazing game, and having it on the Vita is a great experience overall.

I'm pretty excited for Vita/PS TV myself. I like handheld exclusives but hate handhelds. Vita is my fav hardware-wise, but I'd still rather play with dat DS4 on the big screen when possible. Won't be selling the vita though. Hell, might even get a slim. If the price ever drops below 200 for a lone, non-refurbished one.

Xenosaga HD petition is coming along nicely. I hope they do it for PS4 not PS3 at this point though. If they even listen it's probably a 2016 title or something.

I see Driveclub is confirmed to not be one of the 2 free PS+ games, so the whining has changed from "Only one game come on sony" back to "lol two indies come on Sony"

My understanding is this problem disappears once region servers turn on for PS TV. Vita is not hardware region locked, but it's locked to one account and accounts are region locked. Not quite as bad as a Nintendo/360 style region lock, but still just wait for your country's offical launch or you get cart games only and I believe you can't even play 'em on your account.

I feel like I've had my fill of Smash Bros. with the premium demo... Considering I only really play with friends I'll just wait for them to buy it and play when I see them.

I guess Senran Kagura will be my game for October.
Assuming Amazon's targeted date of October 14th proves to be accurate.

XSEED still refused to acknowledge that as their release date, unless I'm missing something. Dekamori is also stated this Fall, and the date will be announced shortly after Shinovi Versus, as they told me.
