Games you've spent/will spend 200+ hours on...

Smash Bros for sure, maybe Destiny

edit: Games I've spent +200

Super Street Fighter IV
Pokemon Y
Winning Eleven 10
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

EBZ3eW3.jpg

Forgot Goldeneye. That one could be it for me.

Warhammer Online back in the day. Had some great company for RVR.
Bayonetta and most probably Bayonetta 2 will too.
Metal Gear Rising must be close to 200 hrs as well.
Devil May Cry 4.
Super Mario Galaxy 2, with SM3DW is closing in too.
Kid Icarus Uprising surely.
Diablo 3.
Street Fighter Alpha 2-3.
The First Halo back then. Maybe the MCC will do as well.
Various Pokemon.
Persona 4.
Resident Evil 4.
Demon's Souls.

Probably MGSV:TPP will get 200 hrs of gameplay.
Super Smash Bros 4 surely, especially the WiiU version.
Xenoblade Chronicles X will too reach that much.

So far I have done that for Oblivion, Team Fortress 2, Animal Crossing New Leaf and CS Source/GO. I plan to have that much into Omega Ruby and can guarantee that much into Smash.

Counter-Strike 12.500 (yes that is twelve thousand hours)
COD4 MW 400 hours
Borderlands 1 200 hours
Borderlands 2 250 hours

That is about it what I can think of top of my head.

Have spent:

Minecraft, GraalOnline (That was probably like 2000 hours), Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Will spend:
Super Smash Bros. 4

This is a good list, this means I really like these games..I'll go in order of hours logged
Most of these are hundreds of hours, I'll only list it if its at least 500
I have no clue what future game would do this to me. I know which games I'll like, I don't know which ones will consume me

Morrowind (thousands, probably around 4-5000 hours, only around 1000 with mods, which I know will make some people cringe :) )
Counter-Strike (thousands)
Phantasy Star Online v1 & 2 (thousands)
Smash Bros (Melee) (thousands)
WoW
Skyrim
Deus Ex
Oblivion
Borderlands 1/2
Pokemon R/B, R/S, D/P, X/Y - all over 500 hours logged in each generation easily
Halo 1
Minecraft
Sonic 1/2/3/Knuckles/Adventure/Adventure 2 - All over 500 hours each
Ghost Recon 1 for Xbox

I'm forgetting a ton

Have:

  • Team Fortress 2
  • Diablo 2
  • Diablo 3
  • Starcraft
  • Warcraft 3
  • WoW

Will Have:

  • Super Smash Bros for WiiU
  • Crusader Kings 2 (finally getting into it now that I found some good intro LPs)
  • Europa Universalis IV (only ~50 so far, but still playing with no sign of stopping)

Spent 250 hours on Dissidia 012. Main lightning cos she was the most fun to play with along with Kain and Tifa.

In Battlefield 3 I currently have 319 hours. The game I've put the most time into.

I'm sure I've put more than a few hundred in each Uncharted but don't have an exact figure.

Have done so already in:

- Red Dead Redemption. So much time just spent wandering peacefully, I feel heavyhearted when I load it up now. Nostalgic paralysis, and it came at a time that life seemed simpler.

- Dark Souls 1. The will to persevere, the necessity to explore cautiously and understand how to make each attack count. Pure brilliance.

- GTA IV. I was in college, mesmerized by the technical little details that were so stunning. I spent more time hurling Niko off ledges, and finding fun ways to drop from great heights safely. I've completed the game and the DLC three times properly, and still play it regularly. I've probably logged in the same amount of time in V, but it didn't capture me in ways that IV did, but it's still stunning (can not wait for the Remaster!).

- Mafia. The first thing I did when my good friend helped me build my PC was buy this game. It was the first title I wanted to return to, so many younger days cruising in Free Ride and enjoying the driving. Tommy's adventures all felt so unique, the mission design, the structure, the narrative. I kind of want to jump in right now!

- Hitman Blood Money. It was pure art. Every mission was so unique, and creeping about with different weapons captivated me. I just played through it again, I don't think I'll ever tire of it. I can't wait to play "You Better Watch Out..." during the holidays!

- Max Payne 2- Remedy's genius, a masterpiece in my eyes. God knows how many times I've played it to the end, how many lines I've memorized, how much love I have for the title.

- GTA Vice City. Every summer, I go back to play it from the start. It's more a summer tradition than anything else, and I've replayed it endlessly. I think for me, it'll always be my favorite GTA game.

- Dragon Age: Origins. Goodness, it came out at a time that I felt like I wasn't ready for a tactical party combat RPG. I turned down the difficulty (still had some problems with the controls) and got lost in two playthroughs. Blown away.

- NBA Street Vol. 2. This will forever be my favorite basketball game ever. Every court was infused with soul, every legend felt like a proper nod to a forgotten streetball era. We still fire it up and talk shit, and I still love it.

- Yakuza 2. Nagoshi the god, and a proper sequel. I was just fascinated with grinding repeated encounters, and enjoying the snow. I love the game with all my heart!

- WWE Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain. It's almost embarrassing as to how much time I spent creating characters, and running through multiple seasons. PCSX2 and the glories of the best wrestling game (to me!) continue to thrive.

Will do so:
- The Witcher 3. Gearing up mentally for another romp with Geralt. Re-reading all the translated books/fanfiction, replaying bits of second game and just truly excited!!!

- GTA V Remaster. I may not even get to anything else during the holidays!

Isaac Rebirth - if it's good as the original, i should put in another 200 hours
Diablo 3 - picked this up only last week but i have to be well over 50 hours already
Advanced Warfare - between repeated playthroughs, and playing online with my brother, i should be close to 200 hours total

previously...

WoW - far too many
GT3 - my most placed racing game, my second most played game
Binding of Isaac - 240 hours and counting

Hearthstone.
Probably spent more than 200+ hours on Clash of Clans but I finally deleted it from my phone and never looked back. Fuck that game.

The last game I spent 200 hours on was Halo Reach. Previously, I've spent 200+ on Diablo 2 and Halo 3.

I'll probably never eclipse 200 hours in a game ever again in my life.

1,222 hours on Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Despite how buggy it can be and how repetitive and lazy the content is, it's the only game I know of with such an accurate melee system that is rewarding and gratifying. If another game with similar fighting mechanics came along I'd jump ship in a heartbeat because of the poor dev support/apparent engine limitations, but alas there is no alternative yet. If anyone knows any that are as good I'd be hugely appreciative, but I doubt it.

200+ hours on Final Fantasy 6, 7, 9, and 10 each, easy. Pretty much replay each every year or two at some point, usually doing different challenges or trying out different methods of getting through the game. Usually takes 50+ hours to complete depending on what kind of run I'm doing/how close I want to get to 100%.

I think collectively I've spent 200+ hours on the Legend of Zelda series, specifically Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Link to the Past, and Link's Awakening. I've played others in the series, but these are the ones I've spent most time on/replayed the most probably. Maybe over the many years Ocarina of Time has seen 200 hours alone, but I have no idea.

Don't really see myself getting 200+ hours on any upcoming games alone. Perhaps 100+ on Dragon Age: Inquisition or The Witcher 3 depending on the scope of their worlds, but I only have 80 odd hours on Dragon Age: Origins and 30 odd hours on The Witcher 2, but they were pretty straight forward as opposed to open sandboxes (origins being a bit more open world than The Witcher 2 but still smallish areas in the grand scheme of things). Skyrim only saw 50 hours, but the lore/repetitive dungeons were not engrossing for me at all, so after exploring the world and doing a few sidelines, I just wanted to get through the main story (which was pretty anti-climatic too). Maybe I'll revisit each of them in the future and get up to 200 hours one day.

Not really a lot come to mind. CS 1.6 and CSGO definitely. Might have hit 200 on CSS with friends although I barely ever played that game. Street Fighter 4 is another definite one for me. Used to play Runescape when I was younger (~2002-2004) and put far more time into that than I'd like to admit.

Some others:
MAG
Halo 3
COD4
Gran Turismo 2
Diablo 2
Diablo 3
Gears 1
Gears 2
Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear

Might be a couple others but nothing else I can think of right now.

Skyrim on PC.

Discounting the amount of time that you would have to spend looking up mods, testing them, finding compatibilities, learning tools that are essential for a multi-modded game, and testing...

... the game can hook you for hours and hours on end.

Past (only including last generation) :

Tekken 5 DRO
Dragon's Dogma
Demon's Souls
Dark Souls
Dark Souls 2 (179 hours so far but i'll easily spent more than that considering i've not touched the DLC yet)
Xenoblade Chronicles

Future (games already out or coming in 2014/2015):

FFXIV
Dragon Age Inquisition
Bloodborne
The Witcher 3
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Fantasy Life

And maybe Zelda WiiU if they really go for true open world...

I'm sure I have spent 200+ hours in Halo 2 back in the day, and probably in various NHL games, too.

But the king has to be Marvel Puzzle Quest, where I have put in 520 hours as of the other day. It has its hooks in real deep.

Civilization
Goldeneye
probably a few others I'm forgetting

Not sure what I'll spend that much time on in the future - time will tell!

If you want some good laughs regarding Marvel Puzzle Quest go check out the top reviews on steam. People with 400-1000 hours giving it thumbs down lol.

Super Smash Bros Melee: I'm guessing 5-7k hours? Hard to tell. Been playing competitively since 2004.

Guild Wars: My /age was like 3.5k hours. Played a lot of top level PvP.

Fire Emblem: As a series, I've probably played close to 1k hrs. Fire Emblem 7 alone accounts for ~600 of that (I used to speedrun it, and I went for a few other records).

Tales of: I've only played each game once, but I've played a half dozen now, so as a series, its closing in on ~600 I'd wager. Dope battle system =D

Dota 2: I just started (something like ~250 hrs) but I can tell I like it already so it might balloon really quickly.

I really don't want to know the hours spent playing Final Fantasy XIV...though it's gone down significantly as of late since I'm bored.

I believe I put over 200 hours into FF XII too. Oh and all the Genesis Sonic games, untold hours there.

Otherwise can't think of anything that might dominate my time that much.

Borderlands (250)
Borderlands 2 (275)
Halo 3 (200)
Halo: Reach (1000)
Halo 4 (500)
Minecraft (600)
MLB 2K11 (200)
Dark Souls (200)
Pokemon Pearl (1000)
Pokemon Fire Red (200)
Super Smash Bros. Melee (1000)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (400)
Mario Kart DS (200)

Will hit 200 for:
Destiny (200 estm.)
Persona 5 (150 for P4G), (200 estm.)
Smash Bros. 3DS (500 estm.)
Pokemon X (200 estm.), (150 right now)

Have already: Minecraft, Lumines Live, Tetris DX, Pokemon Puzzle Challenge, GTA5 Online
Will most likely: GTA5 Online PS4, Minecraft XB1 edition, Halo MCC

Elder Scrolls III-V
Fallout 3 & New Vegas
Dark Souls
KOTOR
Mass Effect trilogy
Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age: Inquisition will last me months. I love replaying those games with different party members/choices and the multiplayer is my perfect gaming cup of tea.

Way over 200 for sure:
Devil May Cry 1
Bayonetta
Morrowind
Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Settlers 3

Somewhere between 100 and 200 most likely (off the top of my head, so probably forgetting a lot):
MGR Rising
Dragon's Dogma
Dungeons of Dredmor
Resident Evil 4

Future:
Bayonetta 2
Wonderful 101
Dragon's Dogma 2
it has to happen :(

Devil May Cry 3
Resident Evil 4
Possibly Bayonetta, it's at least been well over 100.
That will almost assuredly be the same for the Bayonetta 2
Fire Emblem (7)
Super Smash Bros. Melee
There's a very good chance both Dark Souls and Demon's Souls fit here as well.

And these are all games I would have no problems about starting up right now and playing for several hours (provided I had some good friends to play melee with). Replay value is a highly important factor for me in any game and I think these titles all exemplify it superbly.

Have:
WoW
CS 1.6
Sim City 4
Rock Band
Rocksmith
Super Street Fighter II
Super Bomberman 2
Picross 3D
Tekken 3
Final Fantasy VII
Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Will:
Destiny, possibly.
That new Amplitude, I reckon.
Probably Minecraft, if I get around to it.
