Nvidia GTX 980/970 3DMark Scores Leaked- from Videocardz.com

Trying to keep up with maxing out the newest games is an exercise in insanity.

Trying to max out Witcher 3 is another tier above that.
Yea, it is an exercise in futility and expense.
My 670 will have to do considering the 9 series is just not a significant enough step forward to justify the expense.

This game is going to be like the original Crysis all over again, people are dreaming if they think they are going to run this on Uber at 60. Unless they've got $1200+ in GPU(s)

Games from those people.
thx man.

I hope they don't forget about 3D. I mean, it's going to become really important with VR to have stereoscopic rendering. If Nvidia could leverage their partners to support VR AND could leverage their own existing driver hacks to inject VR support (as they inject 3D support in certain titles) that would be a good thing, and not just for people interested in 3D Vision.

Further stepping away from 3D vision right now would be a very ill advised move.

thx man.

You must be awful close to the truth. Deep Silver could show Ryse at this event given that they publish the retail version....Ok it's a long shot.
Ubi will show Far Cry 4 and AC Unity and the Nvidia features.
2K is probably Physx related (Borderlands TPS once again makes use of it).

Still no word on a 980ti? Hope it drops before wither
It probably won't happen. It's a bit confusing, in terms of architecture on how the actual chips relate to the numbered GTX cards but more or less be looking for a repeat of the 600 series.

Basically, there is no chip that would work as a 980 Ti. The GM204 chip being used in the 980 and 970 is the full thing in the 980. There is no "more full" version of the GM204 that could be used in a 980 Ti.

With the 700 series, the GK110 was the Titan, with a cut down version released as the 780. Then they released the 780 Ti which was something in between the Titan and 780.

The GM200, which would be the Maxwell equivalent of the GK110, will probably be first released as a Titan 2.0 or something. Then probably as the 1080/1080 Ti a year or two from now.

gtx970 MSRP $299

Finally Titan like performance for 300
Not quite.

That's difficult to believe, though. Anything more than $450 for the 980 and it'd be a weird gap between the two and would surprisingly make even $450 not sound like a great deal by comparison.

It would also set up a difficult price point for the 960, which would almost have to be $200, as a $250 price point makes an extra $50 for the 970 almost a no-brainer.

I find $350 for the 970 and $450 for the 980 believable. This is maybe a little too good to be true.

I'll believe it when I see it but if the 970 is really $299/€299 I'll be all over one and I suspect a great many people will be as well.

If I can't get 60fps at 1080P and TXAA x2 for TW3 on a single GTX980 then I'll just roll two GTX970. Asus 670's have been godly so far, even just with 2GB memory.

300 bucks would be nice for a 970 that would make it a worthy successor to the 560ti
I'd consider it that price, if it's 400 they can stick it up their ass and I'll keep my 6870 for another year

@ devalue, it's been 2.5 years since kepler released, it's more than time to move on, or did selling the 6870 for 160 bucks in 2011 devalue the 4870 being 200 in 2009? talk about lowered expectations.
300 dollars is still a lot of money for a gpu

A new line of cards is supposed to 'devalue' the old line, not just slot in alongside it price/performance wise.

I wonder how AMD could counter this offer. There is just no way it launches for 299.

I don't know if they could without releasing something new. Even if they dropped the 290 to $300, it would be similar performance with a much larger power draw; it still wouldn't be a great alternative.

I don't see it happening either, but would put extreme pressure on AMD. If the 970 ends up around 780 performance at much lower wattage they'd have to drop the R9 290 to like $200 to compete...

Mine just died the other week. I'm back down to a 9800+ at the moment. Sad stuff I tell ya.

This $299 price tag sounds way too good to be true. I'd be amazed if it was that low, and it would be my next gpu for sure if it is.

Yo 300$ (350 for good non-reference designs) for a 970 with 4 GB VRAM O:
I mean true about time Kepler is old hat, but damn that would be awesome.

If that means the 980 is at 450-500$, how much of a performance gap would we have?

Even a day before the expected official announcement, the speculation and rumors run rampant...

Yeah, sure, $300 would be an awesome price. Too bad the accuracy of WCCF's articles is not so awesome, in other words, looks to me they're doing their best to get some clicks before Nvidia lays the cards on the table...
