What's the story behind your current avatar?

Didn't know a lot of you used real pics lol. I remember the trend, but I thought many were just pics of random folks like some meta troll. Guess I was wrong.

I was an early, early PS3 adopter. It was an awful time and I think it contributed to my high school and college depression. But PS3 will always be a part of who I am.

Rukia is a character from the animu Bleach. Its pretty bad, something similar but much better would be like Yu Yu Hakusho. But Rukia is cute. Helmet hair.

It's a picture of Jillian Banks (or just Banks). Incredible new singer who just came out with a great debut album.

and yeah, she's stunning

Many years ago, GAF user Lee N showed me a piece of artwork from a Swedish magazine article about Dragon Quest of Yuji Horii and a slime in a field. I thought it was really cute, so I cut the slime out and I've used it as my avatar ever since.

Wow. Very interesting. You also never changed, it so it's very iconic as well.

Icon of British Baking, Queen of All Things Pastel and Reigning Judge Supreme on the Great British Bake Off, Mary Berry.
Pictured is her giving her now iconic Death Stare to a contestant on GBBO when they had the SHEER AUDACITY to bring in pre-made STORE BOUGHT goods and present them in their final showpiece. Safe to say the Queen sent his ass packing promptly.

You know, I've seen your avatar around and I've wondered about this. I know someone who looks amazingly similar to this person. I can at least now bury the idea that I have a friend who's on GAF that I didn't know about.

i found in some draw your own waifu thread somewhere in the internet, i really liked the simplicity and modesty, plus i feel very strongly about asuka

Oof, was that when the guy used shop-bought fondant? If looks could kill...

I was a big fan of TLoU when it first came out and one of the comics based on it made me laugh, so I made it my avatar last year. Came back to it for the Remaster of the game.

I wonder if people are nicer to folks with Anime avatars. The big childlike feature seem are very "kawaii". Similar to how most people more apt to smile at little children's faces instinctually due to the same feature that most anime characters replicate--small faces, big features proportionally. etc.

If I was a troll, I'd choose an anime avatar to duck suspicion.

Just an observation.

Years ago there was a Calvin & Hobbes fansite that had a bunch of high quality scans from C&H (I have several of them saved that I use as desktop backgrounds), as well as icons you could use as your AIM icon (hey, it was a long time ago). I snagged one of those and have used it on GAF almost as long as I've been here. BuddyC hosted it for me on his college webspace for a long time. :P

I've forgotten who, but a few years ago someone who used DarkGAF sent me the current version with much better transparency, that they had made because my avatar annoyed the hell out of them on DarkGAF. Heh.

I also have an alternate that I occasionally bust out on Halloween or April Fools Day, if I remember.

Well I've been watching American Idol since day 1 and I'll watch it until it's cancelled (probably next year, lol). Chris Daughtry--the contestant in my avatar--made this "blowfish" face several times on the night he was eliminated (before AND after the elimination). I just screen-capped one of them because I thought it's funny. :)

Coincidentally, his facial expression goes perfectly with how the episode unfolded, since his elimination was thought of as a huge shock at the time.

Well, we did have that "do you judge people by their avatar?" thread a while back. So I think you're probably right.

(A bunch of people said they judge those with Nintendo avatars harshly, but oh well.)

oh hell no there are more than a few "I completely ignore people with anime avatars completely" posts here and there.

Listened to let it go for the first time in February and just fell in love with Elsa and Frozen, though I don't feel the avatar doesn't capture Elsa's full beauty.

Hell I don't think my post reflect Elsa full beauty, I know the tag definitely doesn't... I am an idiot. ¬_¬;

It's a picture of my face. I'm camera shy and really reclusive. Thought it would be ironic that my avatar actually be me. It's somewhat inspired by the Super Metroid opening.

This is like discovering the guy in Shouta's avatar isn't crossing his arms.
