I wonder if people are nicer to folks with Anime avatars.

HA HA HA! That'll be the day.

I'm not so special that I *have* to explain the story, and formalities are always a little embarrassing... Well, this *is* what's expected... I guess that's how I should think about it.
There's only one reason why I chose this avatar. Because I admire this avatar. To me, using this avatar is like being a celebrity or a superhero. In fact, instead of calling it
admiration... it's always been a dream of mine. That's why, to feel like a member of Neogaf, to become someone I can be proud of, I always...

ShockingAlberto found this pic and thought it would be funny if I used it as it looks like a baby version of me.

I thought it was funny too so.

It's of Roberto Duran, the greatest Latin fighter of all time (and imo top 10 of all time, hovering around #7 or #8 for me.)

Here's him stunning Sugar Ray Leonard with a left.

I wonder if people are nicer to folks with Anime avatars. The big childlike feature seem are very "kawaii". Similar to how most people more apt to smile at little children's faces instinctually due to the same feature that most anime characters replicate--small faces, big features proportionally. etc.

If I was a troll, I'd choose an anime avatar to duck suspicion.

Just an observation.

I've seen at least a few people say they can't take anyone with an anime avatar seriously.

As for me, the Organic Energy Association shopkeeper in Soul Hackers is my favorite shopkeeper in the series, and possibly in games period. He's also high up on my "random NPC" favorite list for Shin Megami Tensei. Megaten is my favorite game series at this point so I wanted something to represent.

Screenshot from the Atari 8-bit legend Rescue On Fractalus (1984) and might be the first genuine scare in a video game (made me jump), as well as possibly the first video game to use fractals (used to generate mountainous landscape).

I beat Danganronpa 2 a few days ago and it was awesome. Not sure how long I'll be staying with this avatar though.

Mine is the Scarecrow from the 80s animated sci-fi western Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers.

The Scarecrow is actually
a reawakened bio-weapon from an un-named galactic conflict that occured millions of years ago. It was reawakened by the vibrations from a device that was meant for scanning the ground layers of the local underground to sort out the different layer of sub-terrania for farming purposes. Upon reawakening, the first thing the creature does is dig itself out of the ground (like a zombie) and take the clothes from a nearby scarecrow. the heroes keep calling it scarecrow, so it decides to take that moniker as its name. It is never actually defeated (possibly in the final episode of the show, but there was never a season 2, so there's no way to be sure...last I heard Word of God, show creator Robert Mandel, says no, the Scarecrow wasn't permanently defeated).

Galaxy Rangers was my favorite animated show growing up, and I still really like it. It was very forward thinking for an 80s cartoon. While Galaxy Rangers had its funny parts, and its 80s tropes, a number of the rogues' gallery did a good job of avoiding villan decay, and Scarecrow was easily one of the more interesting villans in terms of being used in a show that was, ostensibly, for kids.

So, i choose to use that as my avatar for now.

Pixel art I made during the first Twitch Plays Pokemon of the false prophet Flareon (is supposed to be behind a Dungeon Master screen passing judgement onto the players but that didn't come out well).

Best anime about a pack of dogs taking down man-eating bears, lead by 3rd generation bear dog raised take down notorious demon bear that killed his father and wounded his owner.
