Assassin's Creed Unity.

Oh yeah I'm getting that as well. Basically look at the fall line up and I have all the major titles preordered like usual.

Edit:

I finished Blacksad: A Silent Hell today and yeah, it was perfect. So bummed out that it was only a single story in the same way that Amarillo will be. It's just not enough. I need more.

I thought that place had like the best weather

Regardless, I know where you need to go
zombine, don't

Yeah, I thought so too. Haha. Even before these crazy heat waves started, I thought it was too hot here though.

And lol.
Assuming you're saying I need to go to LA for LBCC, I just talked to one of my friends from work about it a few hours ago and she gave me a "Probably. I'll get back to you though." So hopefully I'll have someone to go up with to make the ride up more bearable.

and hey, The Private Eye #8 came out today! BKV and one of the best sequential artists working today Marcos Martin! I don't think this series is gonna be finished by year's end, but barring a botched finale this is a great, timely comic. A sci-fi crime comic that explores society's view on privacy and just how good or bad the increasingly socially connected world is today, a world where everybody carries their usernames and avatars witht hem into the real world.

today was a good day for COMICS!

Ooh yes. I keep sort of forgetting about this. I haven't read past volume one yet, so I'll probably just end up reading the rest of it when volume two comes out. I love it though.

So how do you like JL3K? JLI and early JLE are some of my favorite comics of all time, but I have not yet checked out JL3K. Is it worthwhile?
I'd say that it's at least worth trying, if you their enjoy their past body of work. The book established an irreverent tone early one, and did (and continues to do) some unexpected things with its cast to keep you on your toes; but, the opening arc has also kind of dragged at certain points too. With that story drawing to a close soon though, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with the new heroes and villains joining the cast, and seeing how the League continues to mature. When these heroes were first introduced, they were mostly behaving like unruly children; now, they're starting to act slightly more like heroes and come together, but it's an uneven process. There's also something appealing about the idea that this future (and now this universe, removed completely from the New52 continuity) wholly belongs to Giffen, DeMatteis and Porter, and is theirs to play with.

Just finished reading Planetary again. The Absolute editions were great.

So many great covers

Oh, so in the past week I've read two Loeb/Sale books. Well, I read all of Superman: For All Seasons and the first third of The Long Halloween.

Sale is brilliant, but Loeb's writing is just pretty bad. I guess the plotting is good, but the dialogue is just pretty miserable.
Put me down on the side of "I think Long Halloween is really overrated" from that conversation a few days back.

With that said, I think I'm gonna finish it only because of Tim Sale's art.

I don't see what was so hard to follow in Avengers 35. Seemed like a pretty standard time jump forward issue, and actually less obtuse than some of Hickman's previous stuff (just look at the last arc).

I'm looking forward to seeing the Illuminati side of this in New Avengers.

Spider-Gwen was amazing :o

i liked superior 33 a bit better, but spider-man was firing on all cylinders this week. Curious to see what they do with Miles Morales and the Xmen though, that one is just weird.

All of that seemed a bit drastic for 8 months. I was half expecting it to be a glimpse of like Earth 03223441 or something again

I guess, but I figure that 8 months in universe is like 3-4 years of regularly published stories, so based on that it doesn't seem extremely drastic. Look at the Young Avengers and Runaways kids. Based on how slowly they have aged, Civil War was like 2 years ago in universe.

really? wasn't Otto running around as spidey for a year in-universe? someone needs to make a big clock so I can keep track of this

Yeah it was very good. If Marvel doesn't bring Spider-Gwen over into 616 permanently they are idiots.

Nah, they aint doin that. 10 bucks says she dies during spider-verse. Like the character though.

I think Marvel(Disney) knows there are a lot more people particularly women, that are interested in the MU. And they are in desperate need of good female characters. I think Spider-Gwen is sticking around and Jessica Drew is going to die or retire. No one cares about Jessica anyway.

I do.

Futures End

Let me get this straight: Bruce hired a team to steal the usphere and they were doubled crossed by the assassin he sent back in time. *Frantically searches Futures End solicitations for meeting between the two*

Did everyone notice the struggle in Mr. Terrific's eyes in the future? He looked disappointed in himself.

Jessica isn't going anywhere. Best Secret Avengers character, right there. But I'd love to see Spider-Gwen stick around.

Also, Deadly Class - Wow the new issue was good.

well, there is the adult molly running around in Uncanny Xmen, but that one involves time travel

Slott introduced the best new Spidey character in ages. Anna Maria. Read Superior Spider-Man. Fall in love with SpOck and Anna.

I hope whoever takes over after Slott keeps Anna around. I was really worried they would drop her with the change back to Amazing but she has stuck around. She is awesome.

Messi, you only know that the clock is ticking until Anna Maria goes crazy and decides to become a villain for no reason. You can't stop Slott writing.

The real best Spider side-character is Aracely

Please read New Warriors :(

Yo Zombine, why you always on the Playstation Store

Anna Marie won't turn into a villain. That's gonna be Spider-Gwen

Anna Marie will be killed off, alongside SpOck

FINALLY WE'RE RID OF ROGoh

oh wrong Anna Marie FUCK

I hate y'all.

Anyways: what was the deal with Mighty Atom Smasher in Society of Superheroes? Like, calling the mask his face, and said mask being blue with an hydrogen atom symbol on the forehead is PRETTY LOADED symbolically, right? And if so, it's KINDA WEIRD seeing it here, right?

I enjoyed Spider-Gwen, though I thought the storytelling got a bit messy towards the end with Gwen rambling a bit too much about stuff that we could already infer from the intro pages. The art, designs, and the concept were all great though. I wish this was an ongoing.

Gonna read Superior #33 now. I don't want to have to accept no more Otto after Spiderverse :(

Edit: Oh yeah, Multiversity was fantastic, as usual. Loved the ending.

Would you recommend the series? I was probably gonna get the TPB.

Absolutely.
The art and colors are great!
The story and writing is so good.
It is being referred to Batman: The Killing Joke a lot. It's a story about a hero and a villain. And how they need each other. It will be a great read in TPB for sure

I'm still shocked about how it ended. Need someone to compare thoughts and what not. Just left wondering.

I will always suggest anything Cluadio Sachez writes. All his books have been good. (The Amory War. Key of Z. Kill Audio)
He is the lead singer/guitar of Coheed and Cambria. Great band and amazing performers.
A lot of his songs and albums are stories and stuff he has actually written about in comics I believe. Like The Amory Wars comics have the same names as some of their songs.

I liked Multiversity a whole bunch but two issues in I've realized that it's really the CamStew and Quitely stuff I've really been waiting for all this time. I also wasn't too sure what to make of the Atom/Doc Manhattan thing, but maybe that'll become more obvious in the Watchmen issue i dunno

Gillen/McKelvie writing Kanye is extremely my shit.

Rick Remender power hour:

lol @ that Wally Wood page in Deadly Class, good stuff rick

I really wonder how much I would enjoy Uncanny Avengers on a reread. I know a lot of people complain about how longggggg the stories are (and they're 100% right!), but this book functions perfectly as (really the only) month-to-month disposable superhero comic for me at the moment.

Edge of Spider-Verse #2: it always surprises me how poorly music works in comics

So what's the difference between Ultimate Comics Spider-Man and Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man? Did the series get a reboot of sorts?

Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man starts after a small time skip after 616 Galactus eat ultimate New Jersey and almost eatting Ultimate earth.

Miles's father booked after he found out he was Spiderman.

Maybe they can have an ongoing with Superior running around the multiverse?

Question for someone who basically only follows Batwoman outside of recs once in a while.

Since my DC composite knowledge is limited, from reading the wiki, is Futures End supposed to be some type of spooky, Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come type shit?

Cause I just finished Batwoman's FE#1 (even though I probably should have gotten out after JHWIII's departure)...and if it isn't, fuck this shit.

There's a certain style David Lapham has been using on all 50 issues of Stray Bullets, dating back to its origins in 1995, and that's an 8 panel grid. 8, like the octaves of a musical scale, creates a tempo, a rhythm you get to when you're reading. He can do ANYTHING with this shit; quiet contemplative scenes between friends and lovers, hilarious set pieces, well choreographed explosions of violence, it all seems to fit together. AND when he bursts out of the rhythm for a splash page or 3 wide panels it means something because of the irregularity and gives the story a new effect. He also does all the lettering, and he's always in control of the emphasis on certain words or the speaking patterns of the cast. Stray Bullets: Killers #7 is just the latest in line. His characters are great and feel like real people, his humor legitimately works, the violence is all at once exciting and horrifying, and he seamlessly goes through a bunch of different tones in one issue that all works together because of that 8 page rhythm I talked about. I'm so, so glad Stray Bullets is back, because its the best crime comic on the block.

The only Lapham I've read where he's on art as well as writing is Young Liars. Need to get on this Stray Bullets train soon, i think.

It's supposed to be what happens in 5 years if Batman Beyond doesn't die for our sins.

Or at least, that's what I've been running with. But yes, it's a possible future thing.
