STELLAAAAAA!!!!

DId you do something with your hair!? And your face changed again! Much better than the previous 15 render i guess...

I know TGS is a Japanese event, but I am a little surprised there were no English voices in the trailer. March 2015 will be here soon.

Unless the demo really is coming many months later. Bleh :(

Stella looks gorgeous.

Also, I really like the ending of the trailer. Nomura apologizing through Noctis, and then the hopeful, "almost there".

I wish Square (and to some degree, Japanese studios in general) could cut a trailer with some kind of narrative cohesion sometimes. Instead, we get this Mad Man-esque mishmash of random scenes with throwaway dialogue. It always come off as amateur hour.

The last trailer had far better flow and build-up, even if its scenes and dialogue were totally out of order, too. Maybe it was just the music…but the editing definitely built it to a conclusory climax.

Regardless. game looks great, visually. I still have no idea how combat is going to work. Practically every bit of combat we've scene in all trailers looks scripted and full of context-sensitive actions.

Graphics overall are definitively more consistent than the previous trailer, without any doubt.

Okay, graphics was the wrong word to use. More that the scenarios presented in the previous trailer were a lot more typical AAA show-off pieces. Having a bunch of guys drive around in a car & then fight some random low-level mobs initially feels like an odd choice for creating hype.

On the other hand, the number one loudest complaint about FF13 was that it was too linear so I guess showing off a vehicle driving around in an open area makes sense from that perspective.

EDIT: I really hope that combat footage is just placeholder and they're still working on the battle system. It just looks like it'd be so bland to play. It lacks the intensity of an Ys, the deliberate strategy of a Souls game, or the strategy of a turn-based RPG. It looks like a Dynasty Warrior game without the mobs of enemies.

this better not be absolute shit. seems a little too early to get hyped imo, but FF13 ruined my anticipation of FF titles and my confidence in S-E. Hopefully FXV brings them back, I'm cautiously optimistic.. I really hope it's incredible.

Worth noting that the folks in Videogame Orchestra performed the music for this...saw them at a few anime cons it's basically a bunch of music students from Boston. Super exciting for them I'm sure.

Majority of us are graduates. Not students. (The students are all amazing, mind you)

That's his major work in anime/japanese game dubs. He tends to voice the really manly characters. For reference purposes, Liam O'Brien and him have worked on both Nier (Brien was the grimoire) and on Fate Zero (Brien had a minor 'secondary' role).

Yup, also Chad in Bleach and the Colonel in the redub of Akira.

so kinda like pierrot le fou?

damn so avant-garde! so edgy!

teh new age of editing! ;p

Regardless of how good that trailer was, and how hyped it made me, the same issue exists as before: we are given no release date, so it could be another 2-3 years and we get a new trailer lol.

I kind of hate that "IN DEVELOPMENT" ending. For any other game, seeing a trailer means the game is obviously in development. For this game that has been IN DEVELOPMENT for 8 years now, IN DEVELOPMENT means next to nothing. Normally I feel like trailers end with SPRING 2015 or THIS HOLIDAY, but SE can't commit I guess.

Easily the best trailer for the game I've seen so far. It actually kind of looks... real? Like an actual game you can play maybe?

Don't be foolish. SE is actually setting it up like this to pull a fast one and announce it's a movie. Road trip theme? Clearly not a game with like buttons and shit. Nope.

The trailer suggests otherwise.. but I'll take Kagari's word. Dunno why they would mention a character named Luna and focus on her for a good amount of time if it wasn't her tho.

Yeah. That's where I got confused. When Noctis (?) mentioned "Luna" having something for him, and I saw that girl. I thought that she was Stella. Just renamed. Ugh, hope there's more!

Does anyone really trust Square to make decent car handling/physics though? This is a pretty serious concern I have for the game if the car is a integral part of it.

I was genuinely taken back by how gorgeous Stella looks, and the ending with the prelude music and the nod about development, might be sad, but, that was slightly emotional lol.

At first I was sad to learn the great Nobuo Uematsu wasn't composing for XV (I didn't actually realise until recently) but the music throughout that trailer was fantastic, set up the vibe instantly.

Some of the negative comments I don't really understand, the whole because they are wearing black = group of emo guys? What? I believe the costumes aren't even Squares designs and are designed by a fashion label/co-designed.

Not sure why people find a giant Adamantoise or a Car in Final Fantasy "odd" either, I mean each to their own, but I'm not sure how much attention you've paid to the series. I can understand if you don't like the art style, but the art style and graphics aren't the same thing, graphically it looks great (Minus missing some chunks of polish of course, but this isn't exactly a launch trailer)

I'm actually not totally convinced on ARPG's, I enjoy them, but I'm set in my old turn based ways, regardless of that, this is a day one with zero doubts.

EDIT: As Vire pointed out above, I'm wondering how they will handle car physics also if it's an integral part of the game, will they go the extra mile with it or not?

They're playing tricks with you. That's pretty clear when you pay attention to who says what line.

IIRC the Type-0 trailer has Japanese voices, I think it's just because it's TGS.

Maybe they wanted to show a bunch of guys on a road trip because they want to show that it's not all plot-driven? XIII's dialogue was incredibly boring because it was always about the main plot; it had no flavour to it. Already we see some chemistry going on with the characters in XV through gameplay and scenes, so maybe that's what they're going with the trailer: a showcase of bros sticking together and just living life on the road. It's quite relatable and I love it.

What the fuck is with the car, haha. The driving looked pretty awful, but I guess that's to be expected. Definitely see a big Xenoblade influence, but the combat looks more enjoyable.
