Used to be pride when cosplayed Stella and had to overanalyse to get each detail. But now it's like sad, I feel like I know too much yet don't want to fall too behind in the news either. And I want all her outfits still.

That's definitely one of my biggest worries. White Knight Chronicles-style.That is what I'm afraid it. I don't think this time it will be its own story, but "hey, we left you with a cliffhanger in XV, go buy XV-2 coming in 2017!"
That connection was not intentional.Happy Together is a good movie. I love Wong Kar Wai.
Good luck making 'new content' when you don't have the money to make them. Video game sequels that reuse assets are crucial to get returns.
It was probably a little extreme and I don't know anything about Half-Life unfortunately so I can't comment on this. Obviously if the story is just too big for a single then it is completely acceptable to have multiple games (just like writing multiple books for a novel).
Not sure where you're going with Ratchet and Clank. I'm talking about story-wise, you should end it with one game and continue on.

Read my other replies.
You know what I meant by sequels. I'm talking XIII-2, Lightning Returns, X-2, The After Years, etc. It is unnecessary.
Obviously a new Mario game doesn't fall in to this category... like at all.
What's your take then on all mgs games with the ambiguous conversation at the end?
I remember XIII-2's sales being very high (obviously not as high as XIII's mind you).
I wouldn't want a sequel even if XV became my favorite Final Fantasy of all time. I want new content, not sequels. And by sequels I mean re-using the same world, characters, etc.
A third Chrono game would be nice, Square-Enix...
An epiphany just hit me.
A younger sibling when you're the only child is like a sequel.
It's even made up of the same assets.
Younger siblings are ok. Unless there's time travel. Time travelling younger siblings are not ok.
You said you don't want reused assets. I'm saying game companies want to reuse assets.
Video game sequels are usually cash-ins, but that doesn't mean they have to be bad. It doesn't mean that it has to be FFXIII-2 or LR.
- Noctis is always sleepy ?!
I'm interested in the sleep concept the game has going:
- Insomnia written in various places,
- Somnus track,
- "Figure that still lies asleep in the fantasy",
- Logo shows a woman asleep,
- Noctis is always sleepy ?!
You say you don't want sequel, and then you want a third Chrono. Doesn't it sound conflicting?
Fact is, if the original game is good, sequel that is made with the similar care and effort is fine. AAA games nowadays cost shit ton to make. Sequels are everywhere. You just need to have a good original game to get people at least slightly interested in the sequel.

Like I said, if the story is big enough to warrant more sequels, then by all means.
But like every previous Final Fantasy the story should be contained in to one game. If everyone else could do it with I - XII then surely Nomura and Tabata can do it as well.

It's a subliminal cry for help. Nomura had insomnia, he couldn't sleep until the game was finished, but he was getting very tired.
But I thought people here liked change? I thought they didn't want the series' staples in this game because its supposed to be different from the rest of the Final Fantasy games?
I'm going to be really disappointed if they skip out on the prelude and main theme again.
Do you guys predict we'll play as child Noctis ?
I wonder if Nomura planned a KH2-esque opening where the characters are just established and you roam the royal castle as kido-Noctis :3
But if I make 13 of me, we can fight 7 of you and fulfill the prophecy, Falk! We need time travel! An epiphany just hit me.

If XV's main story is contained in to one game (i.e. Noctis gets the girl, saves the world, the end.) and a sequel is just like Noctis' son (I have no idea where I'm going with this..) and his adventures, then that's fine.
I just want XVI faster guys. Come on, is no one with me?![]()
13 would have been better remembered by pretty much everyone if that had been the only entree in the 13 series. A game that didn't live up to the hype but had a few good things going for it. instead its tied to a terrible trilogy of games in which the latter two make absolutely no sense and do not connect thematically at all to the original work
I do agree with you in terms of FF, I was speaking on sequals having their place on the larger scale.
Ideally FFXVI has some sort of semblance and planning behinds Square's door. But you know what, they probably have no clue what direction to take FF. BD has taken over as their classic style. They milk mobile with turnbased stuff, and remakes.
Right now FFXIV:ARR is all they have going for them, unless FFXV does good. Then they have to decide to double down on that action/KH like gameplay or maybe create an ATB throwback as FFXVI...
Honestly I think they are waiting to see how XV does before they proceed any further. But I'd rather get XVI than XV-2 as of now.
You trying to tell me to go to bed? Because you would be right in saying so.
Probably not? Coz your abilities won't work. Maybe in a small dream sequence or something? We've seen a cutscene (?) at least with child Noctis is walking up to Regis in the forest.
If everyone else could do it with I - XII then surely Nomura and Tabata can do it as well.
It's a balance thing.
Unless XV is a perfect game in every sense of its design that there are no rooms to improve on the established formula, sure. If there's room for improvement, I'd like to see what can be done further in that world.
Furthermore, I don't want XVI to be a game that has to sell ridiculous numbers to be considered successful. Cash-ins are imo, buffers that exist to safeguard the cost of a new mainline FF.
I would love something like that.
Would be so unique and memorable..but many gamers hate non-combat sections so I can see why they might cut it out.
There is no way that XV won't sell enough copies for Square-Enix not to stay afloat and make a XVI.
XIII sold over 6.5 million and I knew even before the game came out it was going to be terrible, but I actually have hopes for this game and tons of people are really excited about XV even compared to how excited people were about XIII. XIII received very mixed reviews and mixed thoughts even before its release, but it seems that XV is getting universal praise. I think XV could do 8+ million in a similar time frame.
I think a selected few are adamant about ditching all traditional elements altogether. I think most FF fans get a small warm feeling when certain traditional elements are carried over. I mean, the FF theme, itself, always pulls at my heartstrings whenever it's played in any game. Hell, FFXII's intro, for instance. When I heard it, seeing the montage of characters and monsters, then that crystal spinning, what I think back to is the time all those years ago when my little group of Light Warriors crossed the bridge from Coneria to the north and the theme first plays as the credits roll. Such a warm feeling. It's almost like saying, "You've come a long way, baby!".
I'm kinda faithful that well see Yoko's interpretation of the main theme. Sakimoto did it for FFXII, and while Hamauzu didn't do it for FFXIII, he DID arrange it for the FFIV Collection(PSP), and it was pretty good.

tumblr is thirsty for XV i know that much
I think they would do very well releasing this game on steam as well
I actually wouldn't mind a planned duology or even trilogy if that's what it takes to maintain scope and plot consistency. hopefully not. I usually don't like child part gameplay. If they actually do it hope it's minimal.
Adolescent gameplay is part of the reason AC3 made such a bad starting impression.
Especially after the badassery that was Haytham
