Depends on what kind of I/O you need. They will all be quiet, and they will all probably overclock near the same, not counting the lottery winners and losers. So what seems to be the best version of the 970?

Why are the new cards 900 series and not 800? Weren't last years models the 700 series?
I'm slowly upgrading my PC. How big of a jump would a 970 be compared to my 460 of 1 GB?
Very. Very very big.I'm slowly upgrading my PC. How big of a jump would a 970 be compared to my 460 of 1 GB?

Have you slept?![]()
I'm still on a 6950!
btw wasn't there a rumor the 970 is going to launch in limited supply, because shops rather want to make profit on the 980?
Time to upgrade my 660ti to a 970.
No, upgrading your 2500K would not be more beneficial.I'm thinking about this two, but then again, my 660TI can handle pretty much everything. And I'm not sure if upgrading my i52500k would be more beneficial...

No sleep, only Maxwell now.
Baha, do we really think it'll go up at 3am EST?
I want to be there in the next couple minutes, and make terrible financial decisions that'll make my PC feel glorious again!
They're already up! Newegg.ca has the Gigabyte, NCIX.ca has the EVGA cards.
I'm going from an AMD 3 core 440 Rana to a 5930k, and 6950 (unlocked to 6970 with BIOS hack) to a 980.
GM200, but probably yes. $1000 maybe? The GM210 is probably going to be the next Titan, right?
Man, there's a price I don't want to see
The 800 series were released as OEMs for laptops. They didn't want to confuse people, so they started fresh with 900 for desktops.
Link? Can't find them. They are up on amazon.

I miss the free CPU cores days.
Just got the Gigabyte 970 G1 for 440 AUD shipped from Amazon.
Will get it in 10-11 days probably.
Hoping for the best *gulp*
All out of stock.
You're right on. My entire rig is a "stick it to the man" deal; the CPU has the 4th core unlocked, and the GPU is unlocked since the model of 6950 is identical to the 6970 - minus one of the power slots being an 8 pin, but those extra pins are just for grounding.
