PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

NFSMW for the Vita is on sale again... Everybody buy it. was the best 5$ game I bought earlier this year and it literally consumed 20hrs of my time. I haven't returned to the game to find all the jackspots and smash the billboards but I can return just to play Multiplayer with y'all.

This ^^^^

Also buy SplitSecond.

I hope Sony UK announce the CE of bloodborne soon.

For the ppl that have played it and have some knowledge on how the game works on a technical level, would Transistor be possible on the Vita specs?

Sure, very feasible in theory. Halfway through on my ps4 right now, and wish I had it on my vita too. It's basically an rpg. Combat is an action/turn based hybrid where when you can run around, but when your action meter is full you 'pause' the game to unleash a long turn combo of moves... like a modern take on, say, Arc the Lad style?

Great game, worth every penny on ps4.

Hah racing game flash sale, if ever there was a sale that kept my money safe. I'm just not the biggest fan of most realistic racing games, haven't gotten into one since GT4, and I already own all of the kart racers.

Anyway, someone mentioned in another thread that Spelunky was possibly an October PS+ game, wonder if there is any merit to that. Wouldn't mind, need more people on my daily challenge leaderboards!

And since I haven't in a while and there have been a bunch of new people in here recently, if anyone wants to add me on PSN, my username is the same as my GAF name (v1perz53). Need more people on my list for Diablo 3 legendaries and future online games!

I hope they announce the release date of the PS4 version of Spelunky. I need the new hud !

Two excellent choices. Two games on a very short list of games I paid full price for and thoroughly felt like I got my money's worth out of them.

Welp, looks like I will be paying GameStop a visit to purchase "NEW" copies of both titles to add to my growing Vita Collection!

So I finally got DJ Max Technika Tune (which was one of the reasons why I got Vita by the way) and the game is fantastic but there's one problem I have.

Holding Vita with one hand for the rear touch control setting. How are you guys doing it?? It's insanely tiresome and difficult to hold vita with one hand in a way that doesn't touch the rear pad accidentally. Is there any way I can stick something on the both ends of the rear pad to make the dead zone bigger? Any other way I try to grab it it just makes it very cumbersome to hit the notes with good timing.
Disabling the rear pad isn't really convenient, either.

That game is a mystery, nobody knows how the hell you're supposed to play it.

Personally I play it by clenching the Vita between my palms, and then use my thumbs for the front and my middle fingers for the rear.

The game allows disabling the rear touch completely, but then you're basically left with a game that could be played on a phone so it's kind of a lame cop-out.

Racing games sale? Time to finally get WRC4 Vita. Does anyone here have any opinion about the game? I read some articles on the net and they said it is quite better than the last one, WRC3.

Support one end of the Vita on the edge of something else. Now you can grip the other end securely without touching the rear pad. Of course, this makes it basically not a portable game.

Unfortunately, if you're holding it with your left hand, you can't use the circle button to trigger fever... And there is no fever button mapped on the left side.

Yeah, I was already going to buy Dengeki Bunko Waifu Climax, but then they announced Selvaria. As if I didn't want the game badly enough.
I wasn't going to buy the game until I found out French Bread/Ecole developed it. Love me some Melty Blood. Going to main Asuna and alt Selvaria probably.

Hoping there's enough of an import presence on GAF because I'm not looking forward to network latency to Japan.

A very generous gentleman gave me his BL2 code from the 2000 bundle. Was not expecting it to be 5.3GB (´⊙ω⊙`)

Not sure why I haven't invested in a 64GB yet considering it's less than the cost of a 2 new games.

I think I am going to devote my time to come up how can i effectively play it and not feel like my wrists are about to break (and I have pretty weak hands so holding it in one hand awkwardly gets really difficult). The biggest difficulty is getting to overcome this because otherwise the patterns aren't overly difficult.

I think this is much better than DJ Max Technika Q which currently doesn't even work... beside that no offline play :/

You should get one, all the cool people + flandy have it.

i wish blur was a game that people would buy/digitally purchase. such a fun mario kart type racer that died too quick :/

Fuck it all. Crisis 3 and Dragon's Crown ps3 aren't on my downloaded list from PS PLUS IGC last month (North America). I'm so sure I 'checked them out' on my PS iphone app. Is there any way to remedy this??

I've put about 10 hours in Technika Tune already, and the controls haven't gotten any better for me. It's still fun though.

OK, finishend chapter 1 of Danganronpa.... That game is nuts I tell you.

And it gets nuttier with every chapter. And DR2 kinda feels like an exponential increase in nuttyness.

Playing DR1 + 2 as well as Tales Of Xillia 2 at the same time is also a despairing experience. I mean, all those games just love to pummel you with death, slap you around with sad events and kick you in the groin with the dry feeling of having to carry on. Great games.

I just don't download the dlc expansions and just download the base game with the 100kb dlc unlocks for the dlc characters and uvh/collectors edition. Then the download is only 3.3gigs. Thank god the game is separate from the dlc.

Shoutouts to the 8gb struggle and waiting for a decent sale on at least 16gb :P. Dumbass memory card prices

What would you recommend to someone who doesn't have anything from the Racing Flash Sale? I'm thinking of getting Modnation Racers and Cel Damage, but anything else?

Also, how is Tomb Raider: Anniversary?

Pure is pretty damn good and overlooked. Takes the best parts of ATV Offroad Fury, SSX along with its own style, and some great customization. That's for PS3 though. If were talking Vita you gotta get Most Wanted. Best Racer on Vita you can possibly get for $5.

What system? There are very few clunkers in this sale. NFS games are excellent, Motorstorm games are excellent, Split Second is excellent, etc.

For the vita, pretty much the same thing, though some of the games are more 'sim' than others which would affect recommendations. Even Asphalt, which is clearly budget, is super fun though obviously grab something like NFS MW first.

So uhhh...someone sell me on Gods Eater Burst?

I really hate how they renamed it "Gods" Eater here, hope they don't do that again if God Eater 2: Rage Burst gets localized.
It's a great game though. In a nutshell; faster paced monster hunter with a great story. Memorable characters with actual development. In-depth crafting system + creating your own bullets. Combat is great too with your weapon being an all-in-one sword + gun + shield. No need to pick a class and be restricted in weapon choices like monster hunter.
Definitely one of my favorites, and that's from someone who hates Monster Hunter. This game I loved though.

Yeah, mostly Vita. I don't care that much for Sim racers, and I barely play my PS3 anymore, so its Vita/PS1/PSP games I'm looking for.

I'll check out how Carbon and Anniversary are before I thow any money at them.

I have just bought something very small and overpriced but inside, it will contain so much goodness...

Can you guess what it is?!?

Is Ridge Racer Vita a bad game? Or just disappointing?

I loved Ridge Racers 1 on PSP, RRs2 was GOOD. Still play R4 on my Vita regularly.
Is the issue with the native RR Vita game that it doesn't have enough content?

WRC4 Vita seems like a solid port.. as a fan of the original 2 Colin McRae games on PS1 I'm just going to take a chance here.

Okay, if you want Vita.

NFSMW - looks fantastic on vita. i plat'd this on ps3 and am slowly doing the same on vita.

Asphalt Injection - it looks budget. it plays kinda budget. but it's actually very fun and has an unbelievable amount of content.

MotoGP -- bike sim. well reviewed, but hard and sim.

MUD Motocross -- looks fun. bikes + mud.

Sonic -- free with ps+ at some point. great.

WRC 3 and 4 - sims, so not for you. both are loved and hated... 4 supposedly much improved.

Ridge Racer - don't have, general consensus is too little content, too much dlc

Modnation Racers -- free with ps+ at some point I think? Backlogged.

Cel Damage - seems well liked, don't have

Driver '76 (psp) - critically panned GTA clone that looks fun

NFS: Carbon (psp) - generally well reviewed, but psp obviously.
