Maybe one of the Front Mission or Sakura Wars games? I don't know if there's sniping though...
Nope, I'm well acquainted with both of those. This one has been difficult for me to find.
The graphics are also a bit retro. Not blocky like minecraft, but sort of older gen (say PS2)graphics. It may even be a Japanese indie game. Or an indie made to look like a japanese tactical game mixed with arena battle mechanics. I remember that had some turn based or action pausing elements,
I think there was some squad warfare. The image in my mind is the player character walking on a catwalk or platform in a sort of 3d environment(like a dark abandoned high rise building), an enemy appears behind her, and then the view switches to the other member of her squad (possibly male or some no name basic soldier) who has a sniper scope screen, and was on guard from across the room, and targets and shoots at the enemy, which is some kind of small-ish robot..I think.
The thing is, Kotaku is the only gaming media site I read regularly at work because it's connected to i09 and gizmodo which I can kind of make an excuse for. I might have seen it on another site, but I don't remember. It was this year. And I have looked for the video since, and been unable to find it.
This won't be as easy as just naming a well known retail game, otherwise I wouldn't be offering up the precious Wasteland 2 key I was going to give to my best friend(lol, but if you help me, fuck that dude). (Or a lesser bounty, possibly cash ,depending). I have driven myself crazy trying to find it, but GAF has been able to pull off some amazing memory tricks in the past which is why I'm asking here.
Maybe I should make a new thread?
