I've had maybe 3 out of 15 Legendary engrams turn Legendary, and tonight, just before finishing up the game for the night, I thought what the hell I'll buy an Exotic Engram from Xur and just chance it, even though there's a 66% chance I won't get one for my class.

Well, low and behold, not only did I get an armour for my class, I got the one item I wanted most out of all others! The Crest of Alpha Lupi!

Now just to get my Legendary Gauntlets, Assault Rifle, Sniper and Shotgun, and I'm an even happier chappy! Also would love a better Gold//Silver/White shader to look all royal and bad ass.

Went from 1 to 3 legendaries by farming the cave today and bought one exotic from tentacle face.

If anyone else is as dumb as me...I didn't realize the bounty guy at the tower had Vanguard bounties which is for the Story/Cosmodrome portion of the game (PvE)...as well as Crucible bounties (PvP). I just ignored him for the longest time because I thought he was for Crucible only.

Anyway makes playing the game solo more fun since he gives you some goals to hit. Good stuff.

I would rather get anything over what I got.

I got a legendary helmet engram and RNGesus decided that I hadn't suffered for my sins enough, and I got a legendary helmet.


For hunters.

I just got Red Death, exotic pulse rifle from Legendary Engram. That thing is amazing. Can't upgrade sights beyond iron sights, but it fires accurate when under fire, has hardly any recoil, and every kill with the weapon increases reload speed and heals me.

Oh god I got my first exotic bounty, which of these is easiest? Do they give different rewards?

A Voice In The Wilderness - Search loot caches on Mars for clues
Toland's Legacy - Complete a Weekly Heroic or Nightfall strike

These kinds of challenges are really good for players looking to improve at pvp.

If you can't use FR then it will take you out your comfort zone and force you to get better with them. Once you're done, you'll not only understand how to use the weapon better but you'll know it's downsides in all the possible match ups and will be much better at fighting against them.

See it as a learning opportunity more than a chore and you'll have a lot more fun with it. Failing is good for you if you learn when you do. Etc...

One weapon, one armour to be exact.
 
Spent some time at the cave in Old Russia, about an hour, and didn't get a single legendary engram. Some guy ran up and in 10 minutes got one. I did get about 10 blue which turned into absolutely nothing.

Decided to blow motes of light for an exotic engram from Xur and chance it that I would get a Warlock body and shockingly I did. I received a Voidfang Vestments. Also finally broke Vanguard level 2 and bought legendary gauntlets. Feels good to finally get over the level 24 hump.
 
I wish I'd gotten a picture of it, but does anyone know what happened to me? I just exploded out of nowhere and the message said killed by the Architects.

Who are the Architects?

It is like in Halo when you killed yourself there it said killed by the Guardians.

I fell off a cliff, and it said I was killed by the Architects. I'm pretty sure that was on me though...It might just be a vague cause for death by something other than an npc.

In pvp? It seems the weakest overall in my experience.

It you don't want to go AR because it's too easy, or too popular and you want to be more of a unique cool guy, then try a scout rifle or a hand cannon. Mid range encounters you'll have a slight edge if you can headshot well and long range you will decimate.

Just make sure you take a shotgun or FR to use in cqc areas, close range you'll likely be shredded.
 
Got to play a little bit, did some PvP by myself and bounties and my legendaries and exotic can almost be fully upgraded. Just need some materials....and shards.

A voice in the wilderness is piss easy. You just find a chest, spend a strange coin on xur, and get 500 points with a machine gun. And you get super good advice (exotic machine gun). Toland's legacy gives you bad juju, a pulse rifle if I remember correctly. No idea about the first one
 
titans are absolute beasts in the crucible. my lord.

hardest to kill/take the most damage, have that shield/aura thing, shoulder charge(which can be one hit kill and used for movement), and their super is damn near unstoppable, at least warlocks and hunters can be shot down during/while activating super, titans' happens so fast and they're so durable.

i hate them.

Well the word means people who build stuff, and they're not allowed to say Forerunners, so it could be something in the same vein.

Hmm, googling a bit more it sounds like an exotic primary might be a better investment even though it requires more work. Who knows when I'll get another exotic bounty.

This game probably has the worst PVP I've ever played, but I keep going back for loot drops.

Seriously though, 4 second delay after you kill someone.
That is not okay. It's absolutely awful.
 
So i am kinda behind and trying to learn how to gear:

Best way to gear is to do the daily/weekly stuff, and then farm Vanguard strikes, typically you get 1-2 blues that give you + Light there.

And what should one buy with these first? It seems that the actual armor pieces from your class trainer are Rank 2 Vanguard, so buy them first, then at Rank 3 buy the weapons at the Quartermaster? Am i getting this somewhat right? I am nearly 22
