So I've made a video where I just turn in a bunch of legendary engrams and the results.
Started off like always but then turned out really nice imo.

Also I'm wondering if the Cryptarch level matters? He seems to give me more (materials etc.) and now also better (actual purple items etc.) stuff. So what do you think, does it matter or is it just so you can get a package with more engrams?

Just got this too. Same way. Got a strange coin also. Thx crucible. Need to level my hard light first though. Seems decent for a pulse rifle.
 
If you're already capped on vanguard marks, is there any point to farming public events? Do you have a chance at all for any rares to drop? Or is it after the first for the day, there's nothing left?

Wait what?! The Cryptarch has purple engrams you can buy? What level is your cryptarch?

My best advice for improvement would be to constantly push yourself outside your comfort zone as I said above.

Most people will equip an AR and just tear around the map and spray and pray when they meet a target.

If you take the time to learn each weapon, learn the map layouts to understand all flanking routes, exploit heavy ammo, learn how capping control points controls the flow of battle and where the most obvious pathways for the enemy are, etc... You will start coming out better than average.

All standard advice but stuff the average Crucible layer won't bother really paying attention to.

From there it's how good a shot you can get, how devious your playstyle is, etc...

Many are doing the public events for Ascendant Materials to level up the Legendary and Exotic weapons and armor.
 
I thought doing 25 Strikes for the exotic bounty might be too much to get in before Xur leaves, but after I started picking Nexus I must've been running into people doing the same thing. That Strike goes real fast when everyone runs past all the enemies.
 
Got the Thorn bounty done. Gosh the epic strike was messed up. Managed a cryptarch level too and I got a Zombie Apocalypse machine gun. Just need a helmet and I'll be fully decked out in purple/yellow.

I only experienced that kind of lag in the beta. Now it rarely happens.

I know that Rumble and Skirmish have less lag because of the low player count. And make sure you play earlier on the day.

No he doesn't sell them (yet?) but now I quite often get actual purple items out of my engrams...before it was just HORRIBLE. sorry for the confusion lol

Engrams. Blue or Purple.

Strange coins, motes of light, and Cryptarch levels are why farming is not entirely wasteful use of your time.

Vanguard Tiger level strikes for +6 marks a time.

Bounties for vanguard rep.

Farming public events with Beacons in between.

I'd actually consider going level 2 vanguard, then level 2 faction of your choice, THEN taking the one that has the weapon you want to level 3.

Reason being you need gear to level, and you only get 100 marks a week. You can use crucible marks for faction vendors so you can, if you have time of course, get two pieces of legendary armour in a single week: one vanguard and one faction.

It depends though, I got lucky with a couple of legendary primary weapons, you might be finding you want one of those more. I think armour is more useful at first though, opens more content.

Voice in the Wilderness will probably be the easiest one, since Xur is currently active and you need to buy a thing from him for 1 Strange Coin. The only other steps really are the first one (where you just loot random chests on Mars until you get the base item), and then kill 500 enemies with any HMG (using rockets on this step lowers your progress). I just finished it tonight, it rewards Super Good Advice, a Solar damage HMG that has grants bonus damage on kill and returns "nearly all" missed shots immediately back to your current magazine.

Not too hard to get around. It's a defensive move after all that is supposed to trick you into moving into close range. But you will most likely lose since most Titans roll with the upgrade that grants them an extra shield within Ward of Dawn.

Arc Blade though, now that's a super that is off the charts nuts in PvP. I'm on the verge of rage quitting everytime I see someone pull it off. Such ridiculous benefits from that one.

How far are you, or are you doing a full run? I've got a final boss checkpoint, so I guess I have experience at the very least lol.
 
May be done with Destiny as I'm tired of farming for gear. Hopefully the Queen of the Reef content is good. Had a good time with the game though.

Tried the first boss in the vault, the guides don't seem to reflect what actually goes on during the mode. When we were fighting the Templar if we started kicking its ass it went into a "fake enrage" mode where it sent in tons of Minotaurs with the Harpies. All the guides I see are saying that the Harpies are all we have to deal with until enrage. What the hell is going on in the game? Some of these things for an FPS raid just don't seem like a good idea.

If you try to farm gear you'll probably just get frustrated, remember kids:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
That legendary engram?
Well that's violet too...

There is a chance you can get mats as rewards for the event right when it ends but the percentage has to be low. I've gotten a few extra ascendant energy/shards that way. It feels pretty rare but if you're bored I guess it's an option.

Yeh Tuesday.

Make sure to cap your Crucible points too. If you want gear from one of the three independent factions then make sure you're wearing their marker.

You can mix and match the gear, much faster than just grinding pve marks.
 
I'm getting the centipede error a LOT. Like I disconnect 5-6 times per night. I'm guessing I need to do some tinkering with my network settings?


Also...got my first legendary today :) a sniper from an engram that dropped while I was patrolling Venus.
 
Can anyone comment if your exotic chest can be modified by shaders? Got the Armamentarium on my Titan today and I do like it, but shaders don't' effect it at all. Was curious if the otheres were like that.
 
now a full week after the problem started and i still get disconnected from virtually every crucible match. come on!
