I dismantled that Exotic Titan Helm and got just 2 Shards from it. Oh well, LV27 here I come. Found out I am simply 11 Marks away from being able to purchase my final set of Legendary Gear (helmet). DAMNIT

Yet oddly enough, people who rely on RNG are the ones complaining while those of us that utilize marks and reputation are fine and content. The "I don't like doing x because it takes to long/ is boring" complaint gets invalidated when you mindlessly shoot at a low level cave for hours.

Once you buy something from vendors, you have to wait a week to earn marks so you can buy more stuff. In the mean time, you're dealing with RNG. Wouldn't be a problem if hard content guaranteed dropping better gear. The skywatch cave has given me better loot than 8 hours in the Raid.

Everything in the tower looks the same anyway.

BOOM! FINISHED THE RAID!

CHATTERWHITE EMBLEM!

And a familiar weapon

Some People have already maxed my Marks and would really like to have some new gear. The Cap on Marks makes abso-fucking-lutelty no fucking sense, there isn't a monthly fee there's no reason to drag the suffering out anymore than need be.

There still needs to be a cap on progression to keep the playerbase from running through everything in the first week and then complaining that there's nothing else to do.

As it is, the game isn't even 2 weeks old and people are fully decked out.

So now that I am level 27 I have the armour set of exotic and legendaries to take me to level 30. I chose to focus on making my melee and super cool down the fastest.

So, what is the best method for acquiring ascendant shards? I have all the planetary materials I need (spin metal, etc) but need shards.

Then that is still Bungies fault for not having enough content out after all this time developing the game

Today was a lucky day, asI gathered two exotic weapons and an exotic chest armor. However, my hunter is still level 25 -_-. Still need a legendary helmet.

Has anyone upgraded Thorn enough to know if the DoT effect is any good?

It's ok. Can keep shields down a bit longer, which matters in tough strikes, particularly Epic where there's more shielded enemies and the shields come back up faster.

It also has the nifty effect of occasionally staggering Phalanxes even if you hit their shield. Can also one shot body shot some mobs that would normally require a headshot to 1sk.

Sadly it has a 6 round chamber and a shit reload time.

I use a 12 round HC over it for pvp, and most of the time in pve :(

(and that's with a setup that has nearly constant War Machine uptime, meaning I have 150% faster reloads almost all the time while using it)

I do pull it out when I'm in fights with tough mobs on missions where ammo efficiency matters, but otherwise it's not amazing.

Ah well it's good to hear that it has some use. I guess I'll continue upgrading it. The point about keeping shields down seems like a great thing, but that 6 round limit is a little brutal compared to 12.

Quick note, you may not want to burn ascendant shards on your current legendaries. At most you can hit 29 with non-raid legendaries, and those raid legendaries need ascendant materials to cap.

I'd say stay at 28, store your shards and wait for raid armor.

That probably depends on what your goals are. Raid drops are obviously RNG based, and if you want to start working on Hard mode immediately you are going to want to be level 29. We did have a couple 27s when we working on Templar, but I'm sure the encounter would have been a ton more manageable with a full party of 29s.

Not at all actually. It's simply not possible to create "enough" content in a progression game like this. Other games pad their content with fetch quests, tail this npc quests, explore these random areas because quests, etc... And people complain about this kind of content constantly.

But as you can see when a Dev doesn't fill their game with a bunch of filler content, people are quick to complain about a lack of content. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Capping Marks simply slows progression and it doesn't even slow progression anywhere near as much as other games with similar systems and we have people whining about not being able to gear fast enough. Why? Why do you need to have the best everything in the game within the first 11 days? Why is that a bad thing?

Fuck Rahool. 4 Legendary Engrams today and each one turned blue, then a blue engram finally rolls legendary gloves for a hunter. I am a warlock. FML

That's a good point actually, I completely spaced hard mode. It's a lot of ascendant materials to hit 29 though.

I guess it's a question of what you plan on doing with the raid, if you're going to farm it 'casually' but weekly on normal mode, you'll end up with a full set of raid armor sooner or later that you can use to take yourself to 30. If you want to progress in hard mode, you may need 29 sooner rather than later.

And come to think of it, if you only care about iron banner pvp, you may prefer the guaranteed stat combos/abilities from vendor armor over an extra light level that has less impact in pvp than pve.

I have no idea what the armor/weapons from the hard raid are like though, assuming the level cap is still 30, they might have naturally higher attac/defense levels or unique abilities not found on the normal mode raid.

And farming a low level cave is? I haven't farmed anything and I'm level 27. I've just played a big mixture of everything the game offers and geared up over time.

This, and the legendary and exotic I got are either from marks or playing the game regular.

The only time I farm is if it's for a bounty or if I'm running low on weapon parts. And that's rarely.

While its certainly never possible to create enough, you cannot let them off the hook for making content that would be consumed in 7 days (when the raid got released otherwise it would be less). There is a nicer middle than this.

I need 3 strange coins. Whats the best way to do this other than the weekly heroic? I tried it a few mins ago and couldnt do it :(.

I should note that if you're confident in your aim and your shot count, you can down players in pvp with two headshots or three bodyshots + the dot.

If you nail the hits and back off around a corner immediately, they bleed to death and you laugh.

But that's up against my 12 round hand cannon with reactive reload where I can down 1-3 targets on a single chamber, reload, and get a damage boost for the next target.

It's pretty sick in pvp for 1v1 situations, I just found it a bit dangerous to use in multi-target situations.

You generally don't want to be in multi-target fights in pvp with a HC anyway obviously, but if you maintain the right distance, you can easily chain kill multiple targets with a HC, and Thorn can't really do that. Two targets max if your accuracy is perfect.

Started a 2nd character because Xur's exotic chest engram that turned out to be Heart of the Praxic Fire for Warlocks. So here is my new Sunsinger!

It's fun knowing I already have an exotic waiting for me @ Level 20.

Complete bounties and get a package from the postmaster or just play crucible and get it at the end of the round. Sucks, but that seems to be the best way (outside of weekly heroic missions of course)

So do I have to repeat the story again if I create a second character or is everything unlocked?

I think the story stays locked, but all of your grimoire rewards are unlocked and your second subclass is open, so you can level whichever class you want and you get your bonus weapon xp + materials on planets + bonus glimmer from enemies with glimmer item active. Oh and I guess class items from strikes/crucible, though that's obviously not very exciting.

So do I have to repeat the story again if I create a second character or is everything unlocked?

Complete repeat. The only thing you can skip is the part where the 3 astronauts land on mars.
After that, all the story stuff plays no matter what.
You can go around collecting gold chest again if you need/remember the locations though. Also, all the missions/planets are locked until you complete story progression as if first time.

Just turned in my exotic bounty to get the Bad Juju pulse rifle and as I go turn in my other 4 bounties I get a choice of another exotic bounty! Holy shit haha. I guess it is true that turning a lot of bounties at once gives you a higher chance of getting them.

Now to pick one..

Yep. It is gut wrenching to have that shit happen. Imagine if it was a real person.. They would have to have incredible will power to keep a straight face.

So me and my group beat the Vault of Glass Raid on Friday. We loaded it up on normal again today and one person in the group is getting raid loot from the chests... No one else but her. Any ideas?
