Woohoo! My first exotic! Can't believe you can only wear one at a time.

Legendaries that are found only in the raid have higher base light which is required to reach level 30.

So how long do you think it'd take to farm this gear? I know Bungie wanted to make a 10 year game, but grinding for a set of loot from one raid is not what I thought they meant.

Did the Moon strike earlier but the matchmaking teamed me up with one player that was already in there...it didnt wait for the fireteam to be 3 players....anyway when I got in,I was like already at the Bounty Boss Phogoth or something...took a while but we beat him...did I finish the whole Strike or just the Bounty part...?

I'm sorry, I just don't agree; I don't think it's rational for you to claim authority about what you should or shouldn't have to do. When you play a level 26 strike you are earning gear, through mark rewards. PvP loot randomization exists for other reasons entirely. I didn't understand your final sentence.

What it is not rational for to wanting gear when I do good at pvp or do a hard strike? It is completely rational, when I do good at a game I like to be rewarded for doing good at it. And my final sentence mean that this game has some really bad game design because some of the choice they made are fucking stupid and bad.

are you doing the PvP bounties?

The ones that are possible, Lots of Salvage though... Lots of Salvage.

Oh and crap like Buckshot Bruiser. Is there a Shotgun with more that 4 shells, as getting a three kill streak with a shotgun without reloading (or dying) is ridiculous in itself, do so 10 times is even more so.

If you don't have friends that are playing, finding people on GAF or going to destinylfg.com are your only good options for non-matchmaking activities. Bungie dropped the ball on social stuff.

Even though their App is pretty damn good...they should have more guild stuff in game.

I'm 73 games in. That's a minimum of 730 minutes spent

Over twelve hours in a mode I detest and I still can't spend my maxed marks on a piece of armor. It has much less to do with wanting everything as it does wanting to see progress after 12+ FUCKING hours of play.

The only thing I can think of to help is do the Crucible bounties and turn in materials.

The Crucible bounties are ridiculously hard for me too :(

I'm not speaking to the buying of gear. I was only addressing the half-baked loot system. The system of buying endgame gear in Destiny is similar to a lot of MMOs, though Destiny is more stingy with the gear-trade currency IMO.

It really isn't, this is such a daft way to look at the game and i can't believe most people see it this way.

You're not enjoying the grind? Don't fucking grind, just have some fun playing the games modes and try to get as many marks and rep as you can, throw in some bounties to shake things up. Don't burn yourself out on it. People get so upset playing the game the way it isn't meant to be played. Of course you're going to have a bad time.

Its very easy to gear up fast and quickly, literally 3 weeks tops. I'm one slot away from being full legendary/exotic and that's with getting one lucky drop and because i bought a vanity bond for my warlock or i would be decked out.

No RNG, not relying on the extra loot given out, which are simple bonus'.

Wow x.x I felt like I'd not really played PvP that much but reality(read, the app) says otherwise. That's a lot of hours... I also apparently spent over 14 hours in the raid over the week, but that one doesn't surprise me. One run right when it went live, ending at the final phase of the first boss - lots of figuring stuff out, another clean run that made it to the phase before the final boss, yet another clean run that gave up on the final boss... and finally a clear starting at the final boss lol.

"Don't fucking grind" in a game with endgame MMO grind, said the person with better gear than me. Okay.

When I start up my Titan, I am thinking of streaming my playing on Twitch and basically play the story in proper order (or try to) and gear my guy up without farming caves or something like that.

Would anyone be interested in following something like that?

You are rewarded for doing well. You gain bounty rewards much faster.

The randomised loot stuff in pvp is fine. Players who suck at pvp would have less incentive to stick around. Less people playing isn't good.

If players who did well had more hand of rewards the power gap would widen too.

Maybe they could reward those who do consistently well with some cosmetic stuff like emblems or scarves etc... something they could show off that wouldn't affect gameplay seems fine to me.

I think they do cause my checkpoint is at the last boss and I wasn't the Fireteam leader at all with the two groups I've been with.

That's good news. Being screwed unless you played with the same fireteam leader every time you went in didn't sound too great.

Finished the Invective shotgun bounty. Now to make people cry in Crucible for a bit.

If I start a new character, does that mean I have to go through the story again? :/

Yeah. Got my Warlock alt to level 8 last night before I gave up on the story. I'm only going to be able to finish it in short bursts, didn't realise it was this bad, lol.

Destiny is light on content so it's not surprising that people are min-maxing this game fast.
I'm not mix-maxing. I hate min-maxing. I swear to god I picked my legendary boots because of how they looked. I'm just playing the game.

Are you on PS4 by any chance? Please send me a friend request asap if so. I will be playing this game for a long time.

No idea, but people have it already.

And the latter part of that is facetious :/ you know very well there are at least two more raids being released as DLC, one before the end of the year. Whether or not it is worth the money to experience is up to you (I don't plan to buy it right away at full price, myself).

Finally got Crucible rank to 2. Can't wait to spend my 175 marks!

EDIT: And I need rank 3 for Crucible weapons. Kill me now.

The people recommending you make a new character are funny. You really want people to watch even more unskippable cutscenes again?

LV27 now.

I can't get past LV28 without raid gear.

So, Ascendant Shards are the only thing I can use to LV up with and they come 50% of the time from Dailies, where I MAY get 2 a day. Weeklies MAY give me 11.‏

So in order to get the 8+8+6+6+6+6+6+6+6... 16... 22, 28... 52‏
I need to do....‏
if I am 100% lucky...‏
2 weeks of weekly/dailies‏
without fail‏
FUCK‏
TO LEVEL UP ONCE‏

FUCK YOU DESTINY, FUCK YOU‏

Or I can grind Public events and have a 50%/33% chance of getting 1 every 30 minutes‏

I feel like you should be able to get to level 28 without raid gear. I'm all legendary and 1 exotic, and I'm just a tiny bit away from 28. I have all of my gear to the point where it needs ascendant shards (in other words done with the horizontal progression on each), but one or two levels from any piece should do it I think..

Also, public events don't have to be every 30 minutes. Every 15 minutes is a high liklyhood of seeing an event.

edit: yeah, i just bought a legendary from vanguard, disassembled, and applied my 8 shards to my exotic gauntlets, and it pushed me into 28. All legendary, with 1 exotic it's possible to do 28. Maybe I misunderstood, and you just don't want to level your stuff until you get raid gear so you aren't wasting shards. In that case, my bad.

The people recommending you make a new character are funny. You really want people to watch even more unskippable cutscenes again?
Unskippable cutscenes are a true design flaw that needs to be fixed. Making a second character does have a lot of benefits in this game.

That sailboat is long gone since they introduced Xur, and rewarded those who grinded for strange coins and leveled up their armor to have the extra abilities/skills. Those who grind their weapons levels already have a gameplay advantage than those that don't.

"Don't fucking grind" in a game with endgame MMO grind, said the person with better gear than me. Okay.

He can obviously lose himself in the game and forget the grind. Sometimes I can do that too, sometimes I notice it.

Telling people they can just turn it off and on like a switch is silly though. The game will either keep you thrilled or it won't. If it doesn't there is /nothing/ but RNG and grind post 20.

That sailboat is long gone since they introduced Xur, and rewarded those who grinded for strange coins and leveled up their armor to have the extra abilities/skills. Those who grind their weapons levels already have a gameplay advantage than those that don't.

So grind a little pve and get the coins. Pve offers guaranteed ways to gear up and less RNG with Xur and Weekly/Daily rewards.

Everyone has access to that, not everyone has access to awesome pvp skills.

One thing I really hate is that it seems like gear rewards are inversely related to how well you do in the Crucible. Its Bungie, so I guess I should have expected it, but still frustrating.

Nobody runs with anything but auto rifle on MP. I finally joined hem after much rage. I'm doing a lot better now, too.

I know, it was a joke for that last part. I like the game, I hate the grindy feel of it. It's a console game, it shouldn't have the grind of an MMO. "Don't grind then. Play for fun." Well, when the fun in this game is centered around getting engrams, loot, and leveling your gear, and Bungie sure is advertising like that. "Become Legend. Your weapons will have a story. you will remember when you got that piece of loot.". And do people have the complete sets? I'd like to see the profiles of it. I highly doubt anyone has 2 or more pieces insofar.
