High level content and/or make a new character. And what do you do when you have all the gear you want? Serious question here.

Legendaries that are found only in the raid have higher base light which is required to reach level 30.
I think they do cause my checkpoint is at the last boss and I wasn't the Fireteam leader at all with the two groups I've been with.Doesn't everyone in the group unlock the checkpoints or something?
What do you mean? My only option is to find a clan here then?

Woohoo! My first exotic! Can't believe you can only wear one at a time.
I'm sorry, I just don't agree; I don't think it's rational for you to claim authority about what you should or shouldn't have to do. When you play a level 26 strike you are earning gear, through mark rewards. PvP loot randomization exists for other reasons entirely. I didn't understand your final sentence.
are you doing the PvP bounties?
If you don't have friends that are playing, finding people on GAF or going to destinylfg.com are your only good options for non-matchmaking activities. Bungie dropped the ball on social stuff.
I'm 73 games in. That's a minimum of 730 minutes spent
Over twelve hours in a mode I detest and I still can't spend my maxed marks on a piece of armor. It has much less to do with wanting everything as it does wanting to see progress after 12+ FUCKING hours of play.
I'm not speaking to the buying of gear. I was only addressing the half-baked loot system. The system of buying endgame gear in Destiny is similar to a lot of MMOs, though Destiny is more stingy with the gear-trade currency IMO.
The only thing I can think of to help is do the Crucible bounties and turn in materials.
If I start a new character, does that mean I have to go through the story again? :/

I wouldn't turn in planet-found materials to the Crucible as some legendary gear requires them for leveling up.
It really isn't, this is such a daft way to look at the game and i can't believe most people see it this way.
You're not enjoying the grind? Don't fucking grind, just have some fun playing the games modes and try to get as many marks and rep as you can, throw in some bounties to shake things up. Don't burn yourself out on it. People get so upset playing the game the way it isn't meant to be played. Of course you're going to have a bad time.
Its very easy to gear up fast and quickly, literally 3 weeks tops. I'm one slot away from being full legendary/exotic and that's with getting one lucky drop and because i bought a vanity bond for my warlock or i would be decked out.
No RNG, not relying on the extra loot given out, which are simple bonus'.
how are you guys checking your playtime?
are you doing the PvP bounties?
Some of those Pvp bounties are fucking bullshit.
What it is not rational for to want gear when I do good at pvp or do a hard strike? It is completely rational, when I do good at a game I like to be reward for doing good at it. And my final sentence mean that this game has some really bad game design because some of the choice they made are fucking stupid and bad.
I think they do cause my checkpoint is at the last boss and I wasn't the Fireteam leader at all with the two groups I've been with.
Just hit lvl 28, trying to get shards is a real pain in the ass...

I'm not mix-maxing. I hate min-maxing. I swear to god I picked my legendary boots because of how they looked. I'm just playing the game.Destiny is light on content so it's not surprising that people are min-maxing this game fast.
Are you on PS4 by any chance? Please send me a friend request asap if so. I will be playing this game for a long time.It really isn't, this is such a daft way to look at the game and i can't believe most people see it this way.

No idea, but people have it already. So how long do you think it'd take to farm this gear? I know Bungie wanted to make a 10 year game, but grinding for a set of loot from one raid is not what I thought they meant.
LV27 now.
I can't get past LV28 without raid gear.
So, Ascendant Shards are the only thing I can use to LV up with and they come 50% of the time from Dailies, where I MAY get 2 a day. Weeklies MAY give me 11.‏
So in order to get the 8+8+6+6+6+6+6+6+6... 16... 22, 28... 52‏
I need to do....‏
if I am 100% lucky...‏
2 weeks of weekly/dailies‏
without fail‏
FUCK‏
TO LEVEL UP ONCE‏
FUCK YOU DESTINY, FUCK YOU‏
Or I can grind Public events and have a 50%/33% chance of getting 1 every 30 minutes‏
Unskippable cutscenes are a true design flaw that needs to be fixed. Making a second character does have a lot of benefits in this game. The people recommending you make a new character are funny. You really want people to watch even more unskippable cutscenes again?
You are rewarded for doing well. You gain bounty rewards much faster.
The randomised loot stuff in pvp is fine. Players who suck at pvp would have less incentive to stick around. Less people playing isn't good.
If players who did well had more hand of rewards the power gap would widen too.
Maybe they could reward those who do consistently well with some cosmetic stuff like emblems or scarves etc... something they could show off that wouldn't affect gameplay seems fine to me.
"Don't fucking grind" in a game with endgame MMO grind, said the person with better gear than me. Okay.
That sailboat is long gone since they introduced Xur, and rewarded those who grinded for strange coins and leveled up their armor to have the extra abilities/skills. Those who grind their weapons levels already have a gameplay advantage than those that don't.
Farming at the cave on earth. Got loads of crap but then this bad boy showed up! Whoever found out about the cave on earth, I owe you a kiss. How'd you get it, if I may ask?
No idea, but people have it already.
And the latter part of that is facetious :/ you know very well there are at least two more raids being released as DLC, one before the end of the year. Whether or not it is worth the money to experience is up to you (I don't plan to buy it right away at full price, myself).
