Onwards to the Treasure Cave. And the Cryptarc is a douche
MisguidedNaturalGull.gif

Where exactly is this treasure cave?

Plenty of people like it because it makes perfect sense.

If you reward the best players with more chance at more powerful items the power gap will widen.

The worse players would have less incentive to play.

It's fine.

worse players having less incentive vs good players having no incentive. it's not "fine". it promotes rubberbanding and other methods of tricking the system to exploit the fact that the players who underperform earn gear almost exclusively as opposed to those who contribute to the game. there are several ways they can address this, such as leaderboards or in-game ranks, so that players who strive for victory don't feel cheated when the guy feeding the other team kills gets the legendary rifle he's grinding crucible rep to try and buy. in its current state, the only reason to play crucible if you're looking for something in return is for marks and rep, and if you want more than that, the system encourages you to coast anywhere other than first place. this only further compounds the cat and mouse shotgun mentality of the game.

Why do people keep making posts like these?

Play more. Random is random and it's good for the game this way.

Because it's unfair. Even the AFK got a blue engram. I prefer everyone can get something, even if it's a green engram, Rather that than anything.

Leveled up the cryptarch and I got the god of war shader, a strange coin, exotic gauntlets, and a legendary pulse rifle. I got realllllly lucky.

I played 70 hours and my friends play casually around 25 hours total. Im level 27 they are lvl 24. You dont need to spend tons of time online. Thats pure bull.

I'm saying you need to put a decent amount of time into this game if you want to have good gear to be able to do the high level stuff.

For 25 motes of light I feel the Warlock bonds should be for both arms. Compared to a huge cape flapping around this is BS. But is giving Xur them to give me an exotic that will turn to another class worth it? Ugh

The problem is that as it is now, no one has any incentive at all to try to do well. Because what's the fucking point if my chance of getting loot is the same whether I go 0-10 or 20-2

There absolutely should be ways for the bad players to get gear in a timely fashion. Fortunately there are, they're called factions.

Can somebody give me a simple guide on how to obtain legendary gear. I've been trying so hard but I just keep coming up empty as I continuously obtain rare and uncommon gear.

whenever i queue up solo i feel like i'm almost always the top player on my team. not a brag, and i'm not that great, but i wouldn't mind be carried to a win every now and then bungie

Again: random drops in pvp are like random drops in pve. Entirely random. They're not rewards, they're random drops.

It doesn't encourage you to lose because it's entirely random.

Anyone arguing for more is just being selfish.

Good players are rewarded with faster faction acquisition.

Also there is plenty of incentive to do well. People play pvp to win. The contest itself is the reward. Generally, they don't need extra rewards to enjoy doing that.

The way the game works currently does irritate me quite a bit, but at the same time, rewarding on match position would be pretty unfair as well. The game's scoring system is hilariously out of whack, rewarding people for all sorts of irrelevant stuff, and not especially rewarding people for helping the team. The person at the top of the leaderboards is often, and quite obviously, not the most valuable player.

It annoys me enough already that I will regularly have a game where I will come second to someone who gets one extra kill but a half dozen extra deaths than me. The only thing I would say is that I think only the winning team should see rewards. That is, at the very least, a good way of ensuring that good players (those who contribute to wins) get rewarded more than those who do not.

Certainly, the status quo, where it is entirely random, feels like a terrible way of designing the game. At the same time, this is a lot fairer than it would likely be if Bungie changed it. Winners only would be fair. Points scoring would not. Obviously, they could and probably should totally alter the points system.

So...weekly strike? Summoning pits, no matchmaking I take it. Every time I join I spawn at the start, no other players.

Anyone want to join up? PSN: NotAJellyfish

Bladedancer needs a SERIOUS nerf, god damn it.

You just have to activate your Super, press everything and then boom Killing Spree.

Drops in pvp are NOT rewards.

They're just random drops like in pve.

Winning the game is the reward.

Did you need drops to enjoy other pvp games?

I don't get some of you at all...

unless a bungie employee went on record to say this, there is evidence to the contrary. perhaps the parameters have changed since the beta, but the iron banner was consistent in that players who averaged lower scores earned more rewards in the post-game than players who didn't. i wasn't the only one who noticed this.

bringing up selfishness in a game designed so that the player is always earning something for their guardian alone is a moot point. it's inherently selfish, especially with no means of sharing those earnings with others, let alone communicating with them.

There is absolutely 0 evidence of lower scoring players being rewarded more.

Unless you can produce it right now for us all?

You noticing it was confirmation bias based on your lousy luck. I did rather well in Iron banner and got plenty of drops assigned to me

Winning doesn't matter when you have nothing to show for it. Everything else is designed around showing off, so why the omission of any skill-based achievements or stats in-game?

I feel like my time with this game is close to its end. I reached 20, and play pve only. I want to try the strikes a few times each, but I don't see any point to grinding, since it only leads to the raid, which I don't care for.

I had an OK time playing with a friend, but I'm not especially eager for additional content.

Okay, Fireborn truly and honestly no-bullshit confirms Warlock as the best class. You just can't resurrect and wipe out the unsuspecting team that just killed you with others. You just can't.

And it's definitely the MVP in PVE. Free continue.

Again, unless Bungie has gone on record to confirm that pvp rewards are 100% random, therefore based on "luck" (or some other behind the scenes parameter with unknown conditions that need to be met), all we have at this point is anecdotal evidence. You earning drops for doing well is no more of a legitimate argument than me noticing the opposite, nor does it rule out or explain the absence of PvP stats or skill achievements in-game

Seeing as I'm at level 16 now, and just unlocked the Blade Dancer subclass, I'd say I'm suitably hooked on this right now.

My impressions:

- It's pretty
- Story missions are fun, but repetitive and too easy. I find this game gets bland if it gets too easy, but I can manage that myself, and stop over-leveling.
- Where the hell are the big battles and vehicle sections? These are baffling in their absence, would help immensely with mission variety, and the ones that appear and incredibly brief.
- Where are my AI companions/NPC's?
- Strike missions are excellent. These make the game, and are so much more fun that the story so far, and have proper, cool bosses!
- Crucible is awesome, balanced, and not close to as messy as I originally thought. excellent, halo style multiplayer. Why is no one mentioning this in reviews? (or am I missing it?).
- Loot? wtf. My character almost looks exactly the same as when I started the game. It feels like there are 3 outfits total, and different color palettes are all that is changing. Where is this big budget going to? (it did feel nice getting a blue though, all is not lost)
- Baffling little amount rewards for exploring. I've grown cynical to deep exploration of environments, simply because there is nothing to find, and the chests I do find rarely offer me anything more than useless Spirit blooms that I can find along the field.

Overall, I understand why Destiny sits at a 77/78 metacritic, that's probably appropriate. But this game is constantly keeping me hooked and surprising me. I like it, Destiny 2 could be awesome.
