First time I got a chest like this

wow

I just now realized why it was impossible to damage some level 5 mobs while I'm at 23. Is this ever explained in game, because I wasn't aware?

Doesn't explain. Colored elemental heavy or special guns hurt that shield.

The game punishes you if you switch your gun slot to the correct color for shields by halving your ammo I think

Forces you to set your party up each with a gun of each flavor in the ready slot

Anyone having awful lag on the Raid?

Pretty much making the last boss impossible.

We beat the final boss and didn't get the end screen, no lag though. Someone else was complaining about it about an hour ago. There are some issues for sure.

Wait does weapon damage scale up with level? How much damage do you need to be doing for nightfall?

I don't think it does, but they're such bullet sponges at higher levels that it really makes it seem like you're doing no damage, especially if it's a shielded enemy. As someone else mentioned, elemental weapons are good, but you notice a big difference when you've got a legendary.

Sorry my first and only destiny question I promise.

Factions. If I join one I don't gain rep for my hunter quartermaster right?

Would it make sense to lvl my qtr master than each faction after? Is that how I'm supposed to treat factions?

I can't wrap my head around if ignoring them is OK for now or if I'm supposed to be chasing one asap. I play both cruc and pve

Quote for thread moving quick
Pls rspnd

Would I have any chance of completing the weekly nightfall strike? I'm a level 27 Defender Titan with fully upgraded level 20 blue weapons. Can't get better weapons for the life of me and was thinking maybe the nightfall would at least give me a chance of scoring an exotic.

I should be on soonish and can try it with you if you want.

edit: oh, you found people, lol.

Almost to level 20 with my second character, a defender Titan. It's been really fun to develop another character, but the story is even worse the second time through since I know it goes nowhere. And the dialogue... Yeah, I really hope the series has better writers in the future.

Hawkian, do you want to play with me and Admiral Puppy later?

Oh, wait, you're in Atlanta, aren't you?

I got a chest like that earlier too! I got two rare engrams, some helium filaments, and something else I think.
I had one like that on Mars yesterday: 1x Purp, 1x Blue, 2x Special Ammo packs, 12x Relic Iron.

Oh? I was trying to take down a shielded Wizard and it seemed like it did nothing. Though its hard to put pressure on those since they do ridiculous damage and are constantly running away. I just stood in a corner for few minutes until my super charge and then killed him.

The proper element does double damage to shields. The only situation where you deal less damage to shields is on Epic difficulty (not Heroic, Epic), where if you use the wrong element, you deal half damage and one enemy of each race has an additional shield type.

But otherwise shields are static per race, so once you know what a given mission contains, you can always bring the right weapon for the job.

... then the Burn skulls add to that mix, by amplifying one damage type.

It's a really elegant system, not sure why you don't like it.

No I got home!

I'd love to, for the movement I'm mudercating with nicoga and suttondagger, but if you guys are still free up later on!

If you pick a fraction, then both PVP and PVE will earn you rep towards that fraction, you won't earn any for the crucible quartermaster, or the vanguard one.

So it's ultimately up to you.

OK cool. People just pick based on what each one offers I assume. I'll just finish qtrmaster since he's already started.

Guys I am loving this game. The story is kind of shit and all, but the gameplay and loot aspect is great. I just completed the Moon strike mission, got some shitty items, but had a good time doing it. I'll probably tackle the Earth strike mission on hard tomorrow.

I need me some more of that raid.

Anyone else excited for the Queen stuff? If we keep getting periodic stuff like this, I can see myself playing this for a VERY long time. Nothing has sucked me in this much since Halo 3.

After god knows how many hours I finally got my first legendary engram....and it was a legendary.

Also got my first PvP award and it leveled me up to 24. Today has been a good day.

Also I haven't said my 2 cents yet on destiny so I'd like to chime in.

I find destiny had its faults but it always was going to have faults.

What it isn't is a complete technical mess.

I'm enjoying it as much as any other game I've loved over time and for launch its pretty friggen awesome.

Just wish bungie would be quicker hotfixing things like treasure cave. Disheartening to see people chase loot instead of actually playing the game.

Legendaries I have off farming the cave I got after tons of rares and legendaries (about 16 total) that turned into complete crap.

A.1F19X-RYL Legendary Scout Rifle
Steel Oracle Z-11 Rocket Launcher

From the cave though lol.

I have now gotten 4 legendary items off of engrams

3 of them have been for Warlock and one has been for hunter

Fml

I'm a titan

Yesterday, I did something I NEVER do, and thats join up with random people to attempt the weekly strike. I really wanted to get some strange coins.

So we met up and got through it eventually. Today, I decided to continue the exotic bounty for Invective. I was at the part where you need a +25 spread in the crucible.

I HATE.....HATE.....the pvp in this game. OMG do I hate it. So I didn't really know how I was gonna move forward with the bounty. But I saw some videos on youtube going through the best weapons for pvp and I got myself a new assault rifle and decided, screw it, let's do this, cus you know, YOLO!

I ended up having the best match so far against some clueless bums and nearly finished it right there! About 2 games later, it was done. Thank God assists count towards the spread.

So I felt pretty awesome. Next part, complete a weekly strike! Oh joy, the thing I literally just did the other day.

So I hop on and ask if anyone wants to join up, and again, I never do that. I got a little impatient and decided to try it by myself. I took it slow and only ended up dying maybe 2 or 3 times total.

I spent the longest taking out the extra enemies around Phogoth. I swear, some parts while running around the damn room, I was only able to maybe take out 1 enemy per loop once those damn wizards appeared. Shit took FOREVER.

Another interesting note, I have 25,000 glimmer, and have NOTHING to spend it on. So one day I just decided to blow some of it on ammo from the gunsmith. Man, that came in handy! Used it for the first time, and it saved my ass.

So finally, I kill all the extras, and I can just focus on Phogoth, and I finally kill him...by myself. WHAT'S UP, PHOGOTH!

So the final part is buy a shit ton of special ammo to charge your new gun, or something like taht. So now I can actually spend glimmer on something!

After that, got the gun. Yes, it was a random bounty, and I got lucky there, but I earned the SHIT out of that gun!

The end.

It's the moon. Just hit 27 as well. Hopefully that will help out tomorrow.

Awesome, I should be able to get to 28 if I can get my hands on another ascendant shard. I got a new legendary auto rifle just before our run tonight too, it seems pretty powerful and I should be able to squeeze in an upgrade or two with any luck. We have a pretty good system worked out now anyway, it's only a matter of time before he goes down.
