Destiny |OT4| Get your ass to the Vault of Glass and help Timmins find better pants

I remembered a Bungie interview where they talked about why you couldn't trade with friends or other Guardians in general.
If I recall correctly they said they wanted players to feel like they have achieved something when they got the loot. Like getting an exotic weapon from a certain Strike on a high difficulty (even as a drop with a low drop rate). Getting a weapon like that from someone else for free would destroy that sense of achievement.

Seeing people with zero kills in the Crucible getting Exotics makes me want to never play Destiny again.

Good work Bungie.

is there a better auto rifle than doctor nope? the firerate, the clip size, the damage...godlike. i got some legendary and exotic weapons, but nothing comes close (imo).

It's actually just a purple Sahara. I mean, I'd love them if you could get headshots with them, but the stability on them is stupidly low. Is there a stability upgrade in its level-up tree?

So I know having bad luck with the Cryptarch is pretty common considering how big of an asshole he is, but I think I'm just unlucky PERIOD when it comes to drops. I've been playing as my Titan for around 30+hrs I'd say by now, and I've gotten 7 legendary engrams, which all turned out to be rare loot worse than what I had.

Has anyone else been this unlucky? I'm a level 26 by buying the exotic helmet and buying gauntlets from New Monarchy. Both of my friends have put in a lot less time and got legendary gear on my own. I guess I just don't want to be alone and know there are people with luck as bad as mine.

i also found a level 20 version of the shingen-e, which has an even better firerate/stability than the "standard" version.

Whats the impact stat like on doctor nope?

I've gotten 1 in 10 tries. The first one

I play PS4 and have never come across a single soul using voice chat. I have the speaker next to my name but it makes me wonder if I have a setting turned off...

They really need to fix the bugs in the Atheon fight.

We had, in no particular order:

One player at the back of the room NOT getting teleported. This generally caused a wipe.

Players stepping through the portals and NOT getting teleported, or teleporting back in immediately, also usually caused a wipe.

Several times having players NOT at the back of the room getting teleported.

One time we killed all the Oracles, came out and... had no Time's Vengeance buff.

Also minor, but Atheon's splash damage seems to penetrate the relic's shield, though I'm not sure if that is intended or not. Seems not, given it blocks his direct shots with no splash penetrating.

Once we got the fight down, we kept having clean attempts interrupted by those bugs, it sucked :(

Oh boy, I've experienced most of these bugs. There have been multiple times where I or someone else ( raishin) got teleported back after successfully walking through. It takes a few seconds to get adjusted as it's highly disorienting .

During our final run eastcoast got teleported even tough I was the standing quite far back.

Atheon's splash damage does indeed penetrate the relic shield.

Yeah.. that isn't how it is though. I could grind the cave of wonder for 6 hours and not get a single legendary..I could do a max level strike and get nothing but Vanguard rep. They're basically saying grind more to feel like you earned something when you finally get it even if it took repeating the same task 20 times.

Ah I see you're in phase 2 now. It goes:

Shingen-C, Shingen-E.....GALLAHAD-E

No, it goes Shingen-C, Shingen-E, Cydonia-E, then the purple from New monarchy which is basically a legendary Cydonia. Gallahad has a lot less stability than the Shingen and Cydonia.

There's no chat with randoms, only people actually in your fireteam.
I really hope Bungie changes that. Muting all other players should be an option in the settings, not the only and default setting.

That's weird.

Lots of weird choices when it comes to the social bit. Really hope that part is getting work done and it was not just ready at launch.

Fireteam Voice chat
Tower Text Chat
Clan Chat
Friendlist broadcast

We need these things. And inviting someone to Fireteam should be easier. No need to send a PSN invite. Just R3, invite to fireteam should be enough.

Dammit. I bought the gloves and helmet from FWC (those were the only parts I needed to have all legendary and an exotic equipped) and forgot about the Ascendant Motes issue. =l

I hope they fix that soon. I'll basically be limited in level until they do.

Pls post crucible combat rating if you think shingen is best PVP auto

I'm not that good, 136. And I was saying the Cydonia is the best auto-rifle, not the Shingen. What does combat rating even mean anyway?

Edit: And now that you made me look, my kill/death went down by .2 since I got Bad JuJu... God that fucking gun.

So this is the video of our last night's attempt at the weekly nightfall strike, where the final boss Phogoth simply vanished as we killed off most of the hive knights in the arena, and the mission was successful.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of1_gDvm9MM
Fast forward to 4 minute mark.

No idea how and why this happened - it could be a one time glitch or there may be an exploit that if you take out all the knights and backtrack to the starting room, you don't have to kill the boss?

Anyway, our team was well geared and coordinated so we would have taken Phogoth down eventually, but this was a pleasant experience because are we sick of the moon striker or what?

Cheers to Dhruv_Hanom and X-Frame, looking forward to more nightfall strike pwnage and glitches in the coming days :P

I do believe we hold some kind of a time record for doing that nightfall. :-P

I'm right with you there. I had to buy my own legendary gear, legs, arm, and chest from new monarchy and spent my coins on the helm from Xur. Like others have posted in the past, bounties and marks allow you to gear yourself and legendary or higher loot drop is icing on the cake.

Oh I was just joking around. Wasn't directed at anyone.

I'm assuming combat rating in made from a bunch of metrics Bungie won't tell us about. Hopefully one of them isn't time played and it relates only to skill.

Disassemble the Juju.

... I-I can't. I have to see if it eventually gets good. It has to get good eventually! Right?

As for Combat Rating, I don't think that it relates to time played, because when I updated my stats, mine went down by about 10 points. A side effect of Bad JuJu. Thing's a curse. Like a monkey paw.

I got a Legendary auto-rifle with low Impact but it fires like 60 bullets in 2 seconds. Can't remember the name. Is that viable for PVP, even if the Impact is low?

high fire rates I find are genuinely good in PVP

Mainly as the flinch that the opponent gets is ridiculous.

If the stability is less than 50% then probably not. It sounds like you have a Sahara-like gun. See if you can get consistent headshots with it, that's the main thing you need for pvp. Also, check the perks, if there's a stability perk further down the line, it might be worthwhile.

Edit:

Guys i need opinions

Bad juju and thorn are both terrible. Should i dismantle or store in vault?

I feel like you're better off storing them. Bungie's first order of business is a weapon balance patch, so these guns might get buffed later.

Yeah it got a Stability perk and an increased reload when clip is empty.

Speaking of weapon and armor leveling that takes forever, all the Legendaries and Exotics that I have need Ascending Shards to level up. Those seem to be super rare.

Shards for armor, energy for weapons.

Btw does anyone know what you get when you dismantle exotic armor? If its shards then how many?
