I could definitely go for a spreadsheet with people who are interested in grouping up. I just got a PS4 and I only have 1 PSN friend. Something feels missing with Destiny and I'm sure it would be more fun as a group.

add me, I'm always willing to help people. PSN: vicious_panda00
Just shoot me a PM or something if you wanna roll or just help with a mission, whatever.

6 more unlocks for the warlock(second character)....this is a HUGE grind. I dont remember it taking this long as the Titan...but then again I have 0 interest in playing as the warlock, other than the achievement

Holy hell...
So I decide to try out the skywatch cave, and in 20 minutes I get 4 blue engrams, a purple, and a ton of greens. End up getting Lord High Fixer (legendary hand cannon), the Last Word (exotic hand cannon), and a bunch of cash and the like. In 20 minutes.... I didn't get that much after an hour of level 24 strikes

You got very lucky there. =/

Absolutely, 100%'ly positively Destiny will still have a large playerbase in 2 years. I honestly can't think of a single MMO in history that had a smooth launch. They're always rough around the edges at launch. I've been playing MMOs for over 10 years and never seen a game be perfect at launch. To be quite honest, Destiny is one of the best and most polished MMOs I've seen at launch and I think in 2 years it will be leaps and bounds above the competition. And if they keep releasing paid expansion packs every 3 months like it seems they're on track to do, then the amount of content is going to just explode.

I hope that's true for Xbox as well.

Welcome to the fold, fellow salt of the earth.

There's money in them caves. And it takes a green thumb to find them. Blue thumb. Purple that becomes a blue thumb.

Yeah all my legendaries are from cave farming which is sad. I was in an awful pug strike that we couldn't finish, I had twice the amount of the second guy in kills, over three times the last guy, they get gear, I get nothing. Even strikes that went well, nothing.

Farm the cave for a bit, blues and purples out the ass.

Also I love that it's so gear based that pugs are just going to be absolute trash since there is no real adjustment for actual capability.

...not even really play the game as it is intended to be played.

That's the beauty of a game that doesn't tell you how to play it and gives you several methods to accomplish leveling. There isn't one "right" way.

I would just be happy if my Hunter would load. :/

Dat Hunter invisibility!

He will be a raid boss.

3 people will be teleported to the farming cave. You'll have to kill waves until you get 3 legendary engrams to drop. The other 3 players will have to patrol as fast as possible to get enough reputation to get to rank 3 in the fake-evil version of vanguard to buy raid-use-only weapons.

When the whole team has their items, the three farmers will have to dismantle all the blues they'd get from the engrams and throw the weapon parts at Rahool while the other 3 teammates shoot him with the guns they bought.

Repeat this until dead.

You've got this all backwards. There will be a strike that starts you off INSIDE the farming cave. And you look just like an acolyte. Your goal is to escape alive.

As a non MMO guy, this disgusts me. DLC every three months is ridiculous. $60+8x$20=$220 for the same 4 explore zones.

You got that Crucible HC from a drop?! Gah! Though I shouldn't be surprised since I picked up The Devil You Know via an engram (Cryptarch rank-up gift) yesterday as well.

Still, I would've been dancing if I had snagged that bad boy.

I think I may go stand in front of the cave for a bit again. It's always returned me something useful, and I can do it while sending the important work emails I should be sending rather than playing whilst playing!

Looking for a team to do the raid with once the weekly reset hits. PM for deets or check the raid thread.

Uhh, who said it's going to be the same 4 zones? That's why it's, you know, an expansion pack. They'll add new planets and zones. And why would $20 every 3 months ($6.67 / month) disgust you when an average MMO subscription is $10 - $15 / month?

I've played alot of MMOs and bought alot of expansion packs, and they generally add a ton of new content. It's not your typical DLC that you get from non MMO games.

so do you think the achievement/trophy for completing the raid without anyone in your team dying will ever be possible, even at level 30? I have pretty much given up on ever getting 1000 gs in this game as of right now because of it. I think the only way it will be possible is if they raise the lvl cap and we can go back through the raid at a level far below what we can get to. I dont see this happening though.

There are some locked areas in the base game that I think will. Be unlocked around expansion time.

I sort of touched on this earlier but didn't see a response.

Here is my character, currently:

The gauntlets I have are from New Monarchy. I haven't completed the raid but the gauntlets linked below did drop. Are these considered "raid gear" and should I work on leveling these gauntlets for the raid, even if switching from my current ones will drop me back to 26? I'd level to 27 before jumping into the raid.

My defender build is maxed out and I'll probably use weapons of light for the raid, for what it's worth.

After today's Vanguard bounties I'm like 350 points to get to rank 2 and buy my first legendary armor piece. What's the best way to get 350 points or do I have to wait until tomorrow's bounties ?

I'd grind that out doing patrol missions. Try to get the ones for assasinations, kill all enemies and material gathering. You could probably get that amount of rep in an hour or two depending on how fast you can knock them out.

Sure, I'm not saying there won't be any new content unlocked in existing areas. But obviously that's not going to be all there is to the expansions. There's grimoire cards for Mercury and Jupiter for example. Maybe eventually you'll be able to go all the way to Pluto. My point is just that an expansion pack for an MMO is not even remotely comparable to DLC for your average online game.

Yes, it's not just the enemies but all of the environmental shit that can kill you.

In terms of updates: I'm excited to see what Bungie releases for free even though I have the expansion pass.

Yeah, just because it's on the moon or in russia doesn't mean it won't be an entirely new playspace.

Because there is absolutely zero evidence that any of the $20 expansions will include new planets or zones. I would expect that to be the rumored annual "comet" that most likely will be more expensive due to the (comparative) added value.

And yes, to an MMO guy that probably sounds like a bargain, but to a console gaming guy that buys a handful of titles per year, that's not something I can get behind.

That's disappointing. I was really interested in that gun. The name is just really cool, too.

It's between .5 and 1 second slower in charging compared to the blue Fusion Rifle that I was using before, meaning that you pretty much lose every single duel you encounter. Sadly in my excitement I disassembled my blue Fusion Rifle, so hopefully I'll find a new one with a decent charge rate soon.

I would argue that the grimoire cards that are already in game for planets that are not in game are pretty solid evidence that they're going to add new planets. I understand you don't have an MMO background, but for those of that do, we've all been here done that, and we know how MMOs evolve over the years. So it is neither surprising nor noteworthy that Destiny is lacking content at launch.

Added you.

Cool man, just started up a new character (level 8 Titan) because I was getting tired of my high level Hunter on my PS4.

It'll take me a little while to level up (although not much as I am just going to farm XP to skip the stuff I did at the beginning of the game originally). Let's link up once I catch up.

DAMN! What was this exactly? A quest that takes place in a cave? Or just exploring the cave itself?

Just talking up the treasure cave farming spot. Little haters are out in force today so I'm trying to band together with my fellow proles.

interesting. And also kind of sad. With those missions taking place where they are I assume the locked off areas on Earth are in fact just for the DLC.

I guess it answers my question about that locked off Jovian Complex area you can get to the entrance of. Carved out for DLC. Not surprising, I guess.

Thanks GAF. I was beginning to get bugged. I'm not too fond on doing raids or strikes right now due to the lack of people being online. So FFA is my go to. And I don't feel the incentive to do FFA if I don't get marks.
