PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Nah, that was a personal wish. I loved gyro aiming in Uncharted
Yeah gyro aiming was awesome. It's why the gunplay is my favourite of the series. It's funny how drastically my opinion of the aiming changed once I started using it properly. The analog stick aiming was so damn terrible and for a while I was convinced they completely screwed the gunplay up. But use gyro aiming and it's a completely different game.

I don't know any japanese, it was a question to the people that do know ;)

I wonder what makes it not a way of the samurai game. I have only played one of them, on the ps2 and from what I remember the combat system was pretty complex (?). I also remember that I seemed to have a lot of freedom when it came to who I should help etc. is this nostalgia speaking or was the games in fact pretty interesting?

I've only played Way of the Samurai 4 on PS3, but I remember there being plenty of freedom, multiple story paths and plenty of content you could miss on a first playthrough. Hopefully those elements are kept in tact.

What makes you think that the focus will be on the PS3 game and the Vita one will be a lesser game?

Because of the bigger user base of the ps3 will earn the developers more money, but thats just me being negative. Itwould be cool if the two games had the same story but each version only contained one of the sides perspective of the situation.

Edit: Is it just me or is Murasaki baby the first game where I'm able to shine with my lefthandyness?!

Well from the image it looks like each game has a different protagonist and story.

Sounds like PS3 and Vita are getting separate games.

PS3 version is Ukiyo no Shishi (憂世ノ志士) and Vita version is Ukiyo no Roushi (憂世ノ浪士).

I really enjoy both those janky games. Interested.

Oh those versions were different, I never knew that. Thanks for the info.
Well Spike Chunsoft's games have some track record of getting localized so we'll see about that.

Honestly i'm not trying to sell the game to you or any other, because imo very few people would be able to go through its faults and see the (many)good things it has, i'm just trying to make people understand that the game is not as bad as they think(without even trying it).

You see mostly the same outdoor environments because:
1)at the beginning most of the unlocked locations are outdoor
2)all the videos show only the first hours of the game(and even reviews clearly didn't bother to go on, some of them don't even know what they are talking about)

The same applies to game features.

New locations unlock after many hours, to see class switch effects you need first to level up a class a bit obtaining some of its abilities and only then to change with another class, and so on, all things that require time.

The only article written by someone who seems to have really played the game was from Kotaku, but the fanservice was the argument, not the game, this is the only bit about the game itself:

http://kotaku.com/why-im-avoiding-one-of-the-main-features-of-valhalla-k-668967062

Locations are mostly 50% outdoor 50% indoor(caves count as indoor right?).

VK3 is not a looker but Vita got worse looking games that graphics-wise were not as destroyed as Vk3, as i have already said VK3 is an easy target for the ignorant hate.

You may have just sold me on the game actually. I was interested in it, then I wasn't after the reviews. But that sounds like my kinda thing, to be honest.

Shame, it was on sale on Play-Asia recently for £12. It's back up to £20 now. I think I'll wait and see if there's another sale :P

Messed around with the new update for SAO:HF and really like the fixes it had over the base game :).

The game runs smoother in Arc Sofia (where the frame-rate tanks when more NPC's are on screen), the skills work much faster then before, the new Hallow Area 'grand quest' seems to be quite fun :D (did die though X(, two high level crab-things killed me and my party member....), and the Hallow Area stuff is a lot more easier to understand (a map that is MUCH more helpful for exploration, the Implements showing what they unlock when maxed out, and being alerted when high-level foes pop up).

Love the game already but these fixes will make it even better :D. Glad Namco Bandi localized the update :).

anyone knows what the weekly deals for the NA PSN store will be this week?

on a side note: I played TR 2013 on pc till the point where you climb the antenna. worth getting the remastered version for PS4? how much game is left?

Yay. Ar nosurge Plus next, KT.

That will depend on us.

Ar Nosurge Plus has already been announced in Japan for the PlayStation Vita. Do you see it as a possibility that you would be able to publish this edition internationally at a later date if Ar nosurge succeeds in the western market?

If people who play Ar nosurge enjoy it enough to request the Plus version, then definitely I think we could release it overseas. So I hope that many people will play the game, and provide us with a lot of feedback.

That will depend on us.

I understand their vision from a business stand point, but for a guy like me that has very limited amount of time, if I were to buy the PS3 version and beat it, I wouldn't even bother with buying the Vita version to see the same story all over again.

kinda surprise they neglected Atelier Ayesha Plus

im still mad they didnt port DW8 Empires on Vita, I love Empires series the most since Dw4.

I'm happy that i sold you on the game, but i'm not sure you should buy it lol, VK3 has many many faults and as i said only few people are able to enjoy it, i would not like you to regret the purchase, especially if the alternative is SAO that is clearly the best of the two.

There's no hurry, buy VK3 when is really cheap and/or you have nothing similar to play.

Honestly i still hope for VK4 on Vita that's basically an improved VK3(gold) without the fanservice.

Kind of disappointed at the compatibility list for PS TV. The only thing there that I'm excited about is being able to play TxK on a big screen. No Soul Sacrifice, no Freedom Wars. No PDF and going to assume PDF 2nd won't be playable. No Wipeout...

I have one pre-ordered but I think I'll cancel it and shift the funds over to Freedom Wars.

PDF 2nd was Vita TV compatible out of the box. That list only includes games already released in NA.

Anyone picking up frozen synapse or defense grid 2 today?

Was strongly considering FS. Depends on discount and what else may be on sale. Im also concerned about variety. Most videos ive seen look like all the same environments and characters. There needs to be more meat on the bones for a strategy game to stay interesting.

Roll7 has a big announcement on Thursday.

Hmmmm....
Unfortunately, we will not be showing off #NotAHero at @EGX. Fortunately, it'll mean more of our unannounced game!

Well..there it is the game teflontactics was teasing then. As expected, new game from talented indie dev with Vita experiences.

I just wasn't expecting Roll7 as they're developing Not a Hero too... I'm pretty excited: Olliolli was great and Not a Hero got me from the moment I first saw it.

any of these worth buying?

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
PANDEMONIUM!®

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (why is there no Vita version)
Street Fighter® III: Third Strike Online Edition
Super Street Fighter® II Turbo HD Remix
Street Fighter® Alpha 3 Max

Capcom Fighting Evolution
Capcom® vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001

I played through about 20 of the 40 missions on pc, and while the environments don't change, the missions themselves are pretty unique. They also slowly introduce new units as you progress. The multiplayer is what is going to give this thing legs. Does anyone know if red alert expansion is included as well?

According to gematsu:

Ukiyo no Shishi => Patriot of the Fleeting Life (PS3)
Ukiyo no Roushi => Ronin of the Fleeting Life (Vita)

I guess that the PS3 has a hero while the Vita has a bad guy.

SO THATS THE SORT OF GAME YOU ENJOY

But... but I said i want a VK4 without the fanservice :(
