I traded in my launch model Vita for a 2000 and I am very happy I did. New model is much more comfortable to hold personally, and extra battery life/non proprietary charger are all pluses. And at the time getting Borderlands 2 (which I would've bought anyway) included sealed the deal.
And yea, I went all digital for Vita and am happy with it. Especially on a handheld system, those game cartridges are tiny, and if I want to bring multiple games with me I need to carry around a ton of the tiny things. I love being able to whip out my Vita between med school classes and know that I have 64 GB worth of games to choose from at any one time depending on my mood.
Please to release a 128 GB card so I can actually have all my games available
Clocked 5 hours into Neptunia Re;Birth 1 and I have to say it's much more enjoyable than I expected. I think it's better than anything S-E throwing out for the last several years, aside from FFXIV. The game is brutal, though. I didn't expect the difficult spike right at 2nd chapter. Got wiped out several times until I know I can equip EX moves, lol, and it's not a breeze either.

Yeah, I have a lot of time between classes, like you, and I'd love to have all my games on my Vita for those times. So after getting curious about Ar noSurge yesterday I called some local random game stores today and found one with Ar Tonelico 1 in stock for a reasonably cheap price (screw you ebay) and I picked it up. Just finished dumping it to an ISO and gonna play a bit tonight on PCSX2 (that I used my own dumped PS2 BIOS for thank you very much) since my PS2 is still connected to my CRT at home. Already really like the music just from the intro stuff, hopefully I'll like the idea behind it enough to jump into Ar noSurge.
Knowing my luck ill probably buy noSurge days before they announce noSurge plus localization and I'll be pissed. But what can you do.

I decided to go all digital after realizing I never want to sell back a game ever again. It just isn't worth it to me. I spent hundreds of dollars recently rebuilding my old GB/GBC/GBA library because I stupidly sold my games as a kid, and I love having it all there for nostalgia's sake. Even the games I absolutely hated. I still go physical for certain PS3/PS4 games though because they look nice on my shelf (I hate the way Vita cases look, so small and flimsy looking).

I'm holding out for a 256 or 512 that wont be overpriced and break the bank. 64gb is alright, if we were talking about storing pictures/video that'd be more than enough, but games eh

Turns out that since I first tried to connect through my router, when I tried to direct connect afterwards it was still always going through the router and not directly connecting. I had to de-register the Vita and re-set up remote play to get it to actually direct connect, and now it works the majority of the time.
Also, direct connect remote play is very sensitive to interference, so if you live in an urban area with a lot of WiFi networks, you may just not be able to get a good direct connection. There is supposedly a way to set the channel the PS4 broadcasts on to reduce interference but I still don't know where it is (whether it is the Ad Hoc channel setting on the vita or somewhere else)

I tried to play through it and after a few hours I put it down. I don't hate it but like you said, its very basic even by old rpg standards. I enjoy the overall game though I admit.
Only picked it up because I got one of the last copies of Quoga from the NIS store awhile back lol. Still have not started that either :/

I've actually been in the mood for a simple old school type game for a while now. Just playing through the first 15 minutes I am enjoying the sprites and music. Mostly in it for story/atmosphere, simple gameplay is fine with me right now. Plus, playing on PCSX2 with save states is almost as good as suspend/resume on vita!

Kind of disappointed at the compatibility list for PS TV. The only thing there that I'm excited about is being able to play TxK on a big screen. No Soul Sacrifice, no Freedom Wars. No PDF and going to assume PDF 2nd won't be playable. No Wipeout...
I have one pre-ordered but I think I'll cancel it and shift the funds over to Freedom Wars.
There are games I just want to re-visit occasionally, and when I'm away from my home/PC. That's when I feel the need of having things I want to play on my Vita.

Don't be so sure about PDF 2nd, that game came out in Japan after the Vita TV and was designed to be compatible with it. I think it's pretty likely the localized release will be compatible as well.
Almost definitely a setup issue. Numerous people have reported this and were walked through solutions that fixed their problem. I was fortunate mine worked out of the box, but my buddy's didn't and I pointed him to a neogaf thread that got him sorted out. Don't know the link, but I'm sure you could find it.
I want my entire library on my card. I like having everything well organized -- a Final Fantasy page, a PSP RPG page, a shmup / dual stick shooter folder, etc.
It's not always about 'what am I going to play next', it's about 'what do I have'. It's about finding good artwork for the background of each page that further elevates my love. Besides, if it's not on my card I might as well not own it for all the good it does me -- I have no interest in micromanaging my collection.

Sure, 16 GB is more than enough if you only play your handheld portable gaming system from your home. But I like to bring mine with me to school. There have been times where I am on call at the hospital from 8 PM to 8 AM and nothing happens all night, so I play my vita until I get paged. I like having a lot of games available to play because who knows what I am in the mood to play at the time, I certainly don't know before leaving for call. Maybe it is a racing game for a while, maybe it is a few rounds of an indie game, maybe it is that JRPG I just downloaded. Who knows, but with my 64 GB I don't have to.
And I can't just redownload the game (which takes hours on my shitty school connection) or get up to transfer from my PC because I am nowhere near my PC during my 12 hour shifts. It comes down to how you value your time. To me, the cost of a 64 GB card was worth it for the time saved that would've been spend transferring, re downloading, and managing my games.
I understand that for you 16 GB is enough, but you should certainly understand that there are plenty of situations different from yours, where one would find value in more storage space.

I definitely recommend giving it some more time. I had totally given up on remote play thinking it was garbage, but after a little help from Teflon I now have the ability to play Diablo 3 while on the toilet, and that is a magical thing. My early problem sounds so much like what you are experiencing that I hope it is the same thing and that remote play ends up working for you.

So yeah, needless to say that I'll NEVER get a 64GB card (unless I find it for a really cheap price. Cheap as in impossible, something like less than $40).

You're on a roll today, another post that totally echoes my thoughts on the matter, and exactly how I have my Vita set up. And I love my full Final Fantasy page, really nice having every game from FF1+2 (origins) to FFX and X-2 all on one page. The only issue is if they ever come out with a FFXII remake for Vita I wont be able to fit all my FF main series games on one page!

I dunno, to me it is less about being inconsistent and more about having varied tastes based on my mood and current preferences. To me, it is hard to understand someone that only plays one single game at a time until completion. There are too many games that that idea doesn't work with. Like how does that work with a racing game or fighting game that doesn't have a defined end? What about games you enjoy for just a few rounds of multiplayer? I know you mentioned pick up and play roguelikes, but I think there are so many games I would randomly play a little bit of that it is already more than a 16 GB card.
And just in general, sometimes I am not in the mood to play a shooter, so despite being halfway through Borderlands 2 I will play a bit of a JRPG instead. But sometimes, I don't have the time to commit to a story heavy JRPG so I will opt for a bit of a fighting game. I don't play a ton of games at once, but I definitely have usually 2-3 games of different genres that I am playing at the same time, and a large supply of games that cannot be traditionally "beat" that I also play occasionally. Plus, as Imuoto said, lots of games that I come back to even after "beating" them, like Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2. I have the platinum trophy in both of those games, but I still return often to play a bit because I enjoy it that much.

Ugh so last night I got up to the Chapter 6 Trial in Danganronpa 1 and have been completely unspoiled. Today I accidentally click a spoiler on my phone and only read one word but I think it might have been enough! (It was someone's name)
I kind of do the same, except for me it's not genres, it's more platforms. I try not to play more than 1 game on a single platform pretty much, so my max would be 4 (Ps3/4, Vita, 3DS) but I tend to play 2, one on a main console one on a handheld. For me this works, RPGS are my bread and butter, those are always on my handhelds. On my consoles I tend to play the more socially involved/multiplayer games (the occasional decent SP game too).
Next week I'm gonna have P4AU on the PS3, Natural Doctrine on the Vita, and Destiny, which I complain about but keep on playing, on the PS4. I don't need to play all 3 on the same day, but having these pretty much keeps me from getting tired of each one individually. Too tired of shooting stuff in Destiny? I'll hop on my Vita and play some strategy with Natural Doctrine. My strategies don't work at all and I keep getting obliterated? I hop on P4AU, and continue on with the story of my beloved Persona series.
Got readings and assignments to do? I play none. LOL the beauty of having options is why we play more than just one game at a time, not because we are inconstant or anything like that

It's funny how quickly it goes from horrifying to annoying when you are asked to learn the name of every goddamn branch of every artery and vein in the body. But maybe it will be useful to me one day when oh wait I'm not going into surgery so knowing that will never be useful to me. Thanks med school.

I have plenty of Vita games 2 GB and up, hell Borderlands 2 takes up almost 5 GB of space with the DLC. If I could ever get 10-15 games on a 16 GB card I might have used one for longer than I did, but it was usually closer to 5-7 games thanks to some of my favorites being stupidly huge.

I really like that physical games leave a bubble on your Vita when they're not inserted so you can still browse through your entire library and feel like you've got a bunch of games on the system even if you can't play all of them at any time. Don't think any other system has done that to date.

Possibly my GOTY. Absolutely brilliant. Great art design and overall feel - it's like a noir deco JRPG with western cyberpunk sensibilities thrown in. Music is fabulous. The music and fantastic voice overs (rarely cutscenes, usually just short little asides) really build the atmosphere. Combat mechanics are top tier -- you have a selection of subroutines (think spells) that can be put into slots to be primary weapons, modifiers, or passive (for example, one might boost health as a passive, or add a steal health modifier if modifying something else). Combat is hybrid real time and turn based - when you're charging up for a turn, you can run around, and then when you're charged up you can set up a complex set of moves that execute instantly --- it's hard to explain, but super fun and tactical in execution. My biggest criticism is the game is too short, though ng+ adds a lot of difficultly that really highlights the combat system.
Highly recommended. Worth every penny.

Titan Attacks!
Space Invaders with an upgrade system. It's smooth and fun, but far too easy for my tastes -- I beat the game, all worlds, and got 95% of the trophies on my first game. Granted, I'm very skilled at arcade style score attack games, so ymmv. All i have left to do is grind out one stupid trophy (destroying some ships causes an alien to fall -- if you catch him you get bonus money... you need 100 for a trophy).
Fortunately, finishing the game starts over on round 1 with a double score modifier... unfortunately you retain your power ups and enemies don't seem stronger... so I'm not sure how I'm ever going to die (maybe they are stronger and I just won't notice for a few worlds).
It's a solid little game... but it's more a $2-3 game than a $6 game, let alone whatever it's non-sale price is. This is coming from someone who buys games like TxK and Luftrausers day 1 full price willingly and lovingly. Unfortunately, Titan Attacks simply doesn't have the length or challenge... whereas Luftrausers is purely endless with no levels at all, it's far more addictive/challenging.
