Unfortunately they had Forza Horizon there as well which took a massive dump on Drive Club and has given me another reason to own an Xboner in the near future.

Good lord, I hope you're off base here but you've seen the game and I haven't so I'll wait and see. I'm just saying. There's literally no way this game looks worse than last generation launch titles. LITERALLY. I'm not yielding there because it's impossible regardless of your opinion on the matter.

I promise you it looks really, really bad. I'm not trying to be a dick or troll this thread but that's just what my personal experience with this game was.

The guy next to me pointed out that the trees, plants, etc were basically sprites too... and I dunno, it kinda bummed me out because I had extremely high expectations for this game.

You was most likely playing it on a led with high sharpness. Leds make any game look like shit if it's set wrong.

aight, I'll wait and see. I'd be surprised if this was the case, but I don't want to insult your intelligence if you're not trolling. I just can't fathom the game looking so much worse than what we've seen that it would make last gen titles look like something at parity. Only issue I've had with the visuals so far is occasional world geometry that looked like it was molded out of plastic, and the motion blur making things look kind of fake from my perspective. Otherwise I've been constantly impressed by what I've seen and I really hope it's not misrepresenting the final product.

You're now on a list of people I hope tend to be wrong. From streams I've seen, I understand the gap between carefully chosen replay angles from gameplay, but the game looks gorgeous to people with reasonable expectations. Like I said, I hope you're overstating it.

I have to say, I'm more than a little sceptical. No-one, and I do mean no-one, has said anything remotely similar about the game and it having 'sprites' for trees, plants, etc.

We've seen the direct-feed 1080p videos, and a livestream of the game running off a PS4. I don't see how it could look fantastic in these and "shit" at PAX?

I played it few weeks back at the fan expo. Looks amazing and better than the competition.
 
I'm pretty sure he's trolling guys. We tried. We failed. Let it go. Xboner is a hella weird term though.
 
The only thing that looks bad in the footage I have seen are the jaggy power lines.

But even that isn't enough to say that the game looks bad overall.
