And against enemies with a lot of health. And against any and all bosses.

It's just how you choose to play I guess. I use it for destroying weaker enemies that have precision weak points. I won't be caught dead using it against a minotaur unless he's already low on health. I switch to sniper and heavy weapons on enemies like that, or just use my sticky grenades.

I'm aware I'm in the minority, but I think it's a decent gun. As an added bonus, because so many people are bitching about it, eventually the sucker will get boosted and I'll be even happier. :-)

Bad Juju is not that bad. Seriously. I really enjoy it, and I haven't even fully upgraded it yet. It could just be the green flame thing though...I'm a sucker for those kind of effects...

I find the green flame VERY distracting. When you are not in ADS and are planning right the flame drifts directly into your FOV.

I have leveled up but Thorn and Bad Juju and both are sitting in my bank.

Thankfully I got the Invictive bounty this morning and didn't pass on it a third time.

RNGesus is obviously saying "dude, stop skipping this gun! I'm trying to give it to you and you keep choosing inferior guns!"

Having said that, I know as soon as I level up Invictive, Hawkmoon or the Last Word will drop...

If I was the cryptarch, then the tears from this thread would be enough lubricant for an entire life time or more.

The sounds of everyone's agony keeps the cryptarch rock hard. Dangerously so.

finished all of my queens bounties and ran all of the missions but one. 2 chest pieces 3 helmets.

Random Legendary drop gave me an epic scout rifle (a-1f19x-ryl) and that put me at lvl 4 with cryptarch. That gave me zombie apocalypse wf47.

In two days I went from 20 to 26.

Level 4 cryptarch and you're level 26? ... something doesn't add up.

I'm like level 12 or 13 Cryptarch at level 27 (and a half) as my Warlock.

Cryptarch doesn't shit on me as much as others. I mean he's had his fair share of cock teases for me don't get me started, but I wish Bungie could confirm if the higher your Cryp level then the less likely he throws bum gear back your way out of purple engrams... I have a feeling that's probably why I don't get robbed as much as others since I focused on leveling him and pouring all my glimmer into that bum.

I don't know man. Even with Strange Curses, the Low Recoil Perk, and all but the final 3 damage buffs it feels extremely weak compared with some of my blue weapons even.

The problem is that you still spend too much time reloading. All the challenging content is filled with shielded+yellow health enemies that dont die so easily, so the benefits to instant reload are wasted.

If you look at the other Pulse rifles they are balanced around: low clip/high stats. high clip/low stats. For some reason Juju is very low on clip and stats. Either they need to significantly beef up the impact/Stability of the gun. Or increase its clip size to 45. Or redesign its perk so that it makes up for being so low in every other category.

I agree, the clip size is the main issue. I'm confident it will eventually get buffed, but for now, I really use the weapon more as a support for the weaker enemies. Vex are perfect examples. As long as you nail those precision points, you can start chaining kills together. For tougher enemies, I just switch to using stickies or sniper.

Having bounties that make you go against MCG is fucking brutal.

And I got one shot by a shotty from a mile away.
Forgot to see what the name was.

I would DIE if Bungie made a flying Cryptarch model wizard as the final boss of the next raid in December. He just hurls white and green engrams at you that rip your shields off instantly. No actual drops, but you still see the in game model.

As he swoops menacingly he laughs, and you hear him mutter nonsense. In the background you can hear Dave Chapelle whisper "I want that purple stuff*lick lips*".

All of my money bungie.

Or hell I'd even buy a t-shirt from Bungie store with his smug face silhouette with the words "I want that purple stuff" as the slogan. Destiny logo on the back. 25 bucks. Done deal.

Can anyone give tips to a newbie warlock ? I'm level 11 and typically don't upgrade my equipment to save money for end game.

When I hit twenty, I heard I should choose a faction or something to get easy legendary equipment through rep grinding ?

Should I be focusing on finishing my story quests or doing bounties?

Any newb advice is appreciated as this game doesn'treally tell you much
This game gives out money out the ass, spend it on upgrades dude. I'm generally a stingy person when it comes to resources but in this game you can't be. Warlock too btw, but it doesn't matter. The only upgrades you need to be smarter about are blue ones and occasionally weapon parts. But these are 20+ concerns.

Does upgrading legendary or exotic gear have any bearing on how many Ascendant materials you get for dismantling them?

Is it worthwhile to level up the gear until it would require As. mats then dismantle? Or just scrap it as soon as you get it?

I feel like I've had better yields overall from upgraded gear, but I've gotten 2 and 3 Shards from all different levels of upgrading.

I had to scrap a maxed out Legendary chest to make room for my raid gear, and I got a whopping 3 Shards, so... maybe it's all a crap shoot like so much else.

It depends on how much time you're able to pour into the game. Between an actual job, and life, a few hours per day is all most people can play. Destiny is imo really well designed for these people (such as me), because nothing (except the raid I guess) takes a long time and the best way to progress is doing bounties which will not take much time each day. Just yesterday I played like 3 MP maps for the first time, some strikes I've only done once.. and to be honest replaying stuff is extremely fun in this game to me. The combat and level design is fantastic imo.

Spin it any way you want to my friend. The problem with your argument is repeated throughout this thread. You can literally spend either a few hours plowing through light levels if lucky, or at worst a few days because your luck is horrible. You can't slice it up and say 'because I have less time, there is more content' because that isn't true. The content doesn't magically appear when you have less time. The content may last you longer, but again that does NOT mean there is magically more of it. Less time doesn't make the content more compelling, interesting or good either. The combat is solid, but repetitive as hell with little to no encounter design beyond 'fight off waves while little ghost hopes you die pretending to unlock this door'. The saddest part is that they were really onto something interesting in the raid design and I'm left wondering who the hell designed the rest of the game. And I don't think we need to revisit the 'story' again here... This game is just questionable decision after questionable decision all across the board. And I guess I don't fully understand your mp map point. So it should be impressive that I finally get to play a map that many others have, but I haven't because the map selection RNG decided I should play the same 2 over and over? At what point do we stop making excuses for bad design? One part of a whole being bad does not mean the entire thing must be bad. We can admit a fault, yet still enjoy the whole. It isn't like things of this nature can't be patched or tweaked.

And I'd love to hear your definition of an 'actual' job, because it sounds a lot like you think if someone has more free time than you at a given point, or doesn't spend it the same way you do, they don't have an 'actual' job. That kind of crap is getting out of hand in regards to this game. I was in a GAF raid this morning that eventually had to break up because many of us had work obligations, and while I won't speak for them I would bet they too wouldn't take kindly to an insinuation like that either.

Now back to the grind!

Still though, it's worth it just to call attention to the very real drama surrounding the cave, regardless of how you feel about it :) JMO

Yeah, I hate that cave with a passion. My girlfriend cheated on me with a Guardian in that very same cave. It's said that if you go there in the dead of night, you can still see a stream of engrams gushing out if you're zoomed in with a sniper rifle. And by girlfriend I mean acolyte. Those jerks cheated on me for the last time.

So, to be clear, there's no way I can transfer my 360 character to PS4, right? :(

I mean, I guess I wouldn't mind starting again, but everyone is going to be so much more leveled than me D;

Vanilla WoW to WotLK perspectives in the span of two weeks. Funny.

Hard not to feel like getting all those marks was a waste when a stupid easy line gets gear of the same level.

Getting those marks for purples was stupid easy already to be honest, but at least it took long if you were bad at strikes.

The only step to take next is just gift everyone full purps when they hit 20 ugh.

is there drama? I have no problem with people caving it up
I haven't been there either and I'm nearly 28 now.
fistbump, 1/3rd of the way to 28 myself

based on the ludicrous pace of this thread, the amount of times questions are asked and answered and reasked and reanswered on each page, the lack of many explanations for systems in game, the fact that people for playing dozens of hours without those explanations anyway, and the hilariously amateur-grade line in the script, I proffer

You have it all wrong, he's the Hero. He gave me an Exotic Sniper Rifle without asking anything of me. I've been busting my ass for the Vanguard and they won't even let me BUY something from them. Hell, right now they want me to work for sunshine and smiles, they won't even pay me.

can't play for a while yet but I'm adding you based on that descriptor :D

You da man :)

****

So, while hoping I can find someone to Nightfall / weekly with, I am doing Patrols. I did an Assassin patrol.

Instead of the weak, normal boss target, KARTHISS jumps out of the wall. I've never had a named, boss boss character for one of these.

Was there an update or something? When i booted up Destiny just now it said it was installing again but only lasted for like 20 seconds. Also how do I get to the Queen content? Is it just bounties and new loot?

DID THEY FIX THE LOOT CAVE!?!?!
