The only way to beat a blade dancer is to slaughter the rest of the team.

I'm surprised nobody has made a fireteam composed of all bladedancers and go into crucible. Or a team of all defenders.

I remember there was this team of healers (sith sorcerers) in The Old Republic who did pvp. They were unstoppable because all they did was cluster together and spammed AoE heals.

but youll only see hunters in pvp lol

the only odd one there is me, a titan striker

good times

holy shit. i bought the game a couple days ago and hit lvl 20. i was lost for a little bit because there's absolutely nowhere i could find that explained the post-20 progression properly. between motes, coins, ascendant bullshits, strike playlists, the little bar on the left of orbit, the queens bullshit, etc i had no idea what to do next. and i haven't even finished the story.

that is, until i found hawkians post.
the single most helpful thing i've ever found in this game and should be read by everyone who's 20 and not sure exactly how to proceed. i'm not too worried about grinding yet, still having a lot of fun doing the pre-20 content, but man was this helpful

btw... ps3... psn: bootski

add me

Got a rare ship, the Aurora Lance. No idea where, was just going through my inventory and noticed the blueprints. Looks pretty sweet.

There's so much hate for the blade dancer class here. I don't see how how 'broken' it is compared to the other classes. The supers as a whole are a mess in terms of balancing. Meh

EDIT: I'm a hunter myself, but I hardly ever decide to use my supers. I have no idea why. lol

Man all the Blade Dancer hate. Just because I get a free Halo Sword, super speed and a shield doesn't mean i'm OP.

Trust me I get just as angry when I get killed by nukes and hulk slams.

Hmmm, first off, no to the point blank shotgun + barrier melee, that's a guaranteed kill. It has happened to me and it feels like shit. Even if the shotgun blast is off, if they're using barrier melee, they still win the fight via the overshield. Titans that see me coming have a very, very significant shot at killing me unless they panic, even without their super (which is an almost guaranteed win instead).

Second, unload with what?

It really isn't mega armor anyway, it's less than Titans get from their Barrier Melee which doesn't even require a super.

Shoulder charge? Should be a OHKO to anyone without an overshield.

Now, a shotgun to the face AND a melee? I could buy that.

They're not even CLOSE to easy to kill. I am sorry if I gave anyone that impression. It's just possible, it happens, and it is more practical than killing a Titan during Fist or inside a Ward, a Sunsinger as I built described way above, or a Void Bombing Warlock (people claim THIS is easy, but I've never done it personally).

It's a super. If you don't have yours, you are very likely to get murdered by it. But it's not unstoppable either.

Guess I'll try a Defender Titan for PVP and see how I do. Still need level up the powers but if I can survive more then that's better.

One thing I'll say about the problems with Light Leveling.

I'm Level 27 and can conceivably "survive" a Level 26 strike, but without weapons equal to the power of my armor (much harder to get), I will likely get destroyed.

Because you have time to panic. If it was a nova/smash you'd be dead already.
that's accurate
Well, "fact" is a little silly to say, since we haven't done any testing presumably, but I'd imagine this is probably the case, sure. Agreed!
The panic is real. :P when I get a fix on a target that sees me I can usually predict the ones that will be easy guaranteed kills and the ones that will give me trouble.
Arc Blade has increased defense in that mode. They can take way more beating than they should.

A rocket, 3 hit fusion rifle, a rifle clip of 75% headshots, didn't kill a blade dancer.
Are you saying all three of those fired at a single Bladedancer, did not kill him? Because that's absolutely ludicrous. Two point blank shotgun shots will do it.

Perhaps the Bladedancers was getting kills while you were firing on him and using Hungering Blade?

Finally hit level 25 last night.

Is there any reliable way to to continue to get better gear without grinding the hell out of factions?

Xur, Nightfall Strike, Raid, and PVP are pretty much the only other ways of getting better gear aside from the factions. Well there's also the Queen missions that're going on right now that give out guaranteed legendary gear so you could do those if you're really desperate for some better gear right now.

true

but as for nova bomb.. i've been saying since beta that it needs a buff bad. its the most chump super in the game imo. amazingly avoidable and restrictive in its use too. add in the wind up and cooldown as well as the limits in its use and you just end up laughing when you see them
Except Golden Gun

golden gun is legit op imo though lol

I agree. Granted, you can spec into having a homing nova bomb.

Yeah, roll with Armor of Light and Barrier Melee and get used to how the Armor is applied and how far outside of the bubble you can roam while using it. really good Defender titans are what I have nightmares about. I feel confident fighting anything else 1v1.

I seem to get killed by it a lot while in Arc Blade...

Sweet. Just hit 27 this morning.

Is it true only 2% of the gamers are at 27???
naw, that can't be right. curious what gaf's average level is...

Really liking this legendary hand cannon I got from the nightfall strike. It has increased reload speed when the mag is empty and when I survive from near death I get ammo back and it improves my reload speed AND it has an additional mod that increases reload speed. Chain of Who? Now I'm running double knives permanently acting a fool in pvp. Seriously how fast this thing reloads when the mag is empty is hilarious.

9YUC3Nm.png
noice.

thinking of dismantling my purple handcannon. got it from FWC for hitting level 3 and it only has a 6 round clip... like my rare handcannon better, 11 round clip, much better impact, and even though stability is worse I seem to hit more with it :/

Just in case this was missed, would really like to know.

Cave is better because you don't have die at all and you can go AFK while other players are shooting in the cave and it'll still drop engrams for you. Not to mention public events will spawn while you're there and you can get marks/shards/etc. from those.

I have started leveling the alternate classes and it has done wonders for upgrading my characters in general. The only problem is I need tons of time to level them. PvE stuff is easy but PvP content is out of the question.

Nightfall and Strike Cheese Tip of the Week

At the last boss, the Nexus, don't jump down that large drop. First take out the few roaming Minotaurs that are wandering down there until the boss spawns. Then, just shoot at the boss from the same spot, sniper rifles are your friend here.

There will be an Ultra Minotaur Vex that will spawn behind you every 40 seconds or sometimes less, but dealing with 1 enemy on a constant loop is easier than the hoards that spawn below on a regular basis.

If you have a defender Titan get them to drop their shield with "Weapons of Light" so when everyone passes through it, all damage on the boss will be buffed.
And there is that...

No Ultra Minotaur pissing you :D

Also, we could have a mode that bans exotic gear.

Take the Gjallarhorn for example. It doesn't matter if damage is standardized, that thing is undeniably OP in PvP once you get the Wolfpack Missiles.

Then i don't have any reason to do her bounties :p since my cloak is better than what she can give and I already have the helmet.
ascendant shards

Leveling guide part 3 is going to clear up some misconceptions about the role the Queen's Wrath is playing in the endgame right now

WOLFPACK ROUNDS

sorry I just have to do that every time my beloved Gjallarhorn is mentioned <3

i completely admit to cheesing that fight last night with 3bar & braxly. no fucks were given.

I've shot a bladedancer with handcannons, scout rifles (which suck up close) and shotguns to little effect, my titan's melee barrier doesn't feel that great but I never really get a chance to enable the thing. I've had a good shotgun and melee into bladedancers before leaving them in the red so maybe I missed their face? dunno.

I think their movement might be why they feel so OP, they can attack and zoom around faster then sprinting, even fly with the skill.

Shoulder charge? Should be a OHKO to anyone without an overshield.

Ah, maybe that's what was meant! Yeah, that's way, way more powerful than normal melee, but you have to sprint for a few seconds to activate it. I don't think I've tried it on a bladedancer (probably would have to get lucky and just happen upon one while sprinting), but I could believe that being a kill. Not sure though.

Oh, I wasn't responding to you in particular, and definitely wasn't arguing that it's a problematic super. I think it could be argued that with Hungering Blade it can be a little too long of a death spree, but it's SUPPOSED to be ass-kickingly powerful, obviously. I was just commenting on the fact that in their zeal to defend it, some people are going a bit too far with the "noobs are just panicking lol" angle. I mean, they might be, but it's because they're being hit with a super. Which is almost certainly going to kill them. Cuz it's a super.

Edit: What I find most interesting is how much people are bothered by the blade dancer super vs. other supers. I DO think it's probably more powerful, but I suspect it's more a psychological thing that makes it bother people than the fact that they get killed by it more often. It's just a very brutal, almost insulting way to die, somehow. Just kind of interesting.

All of the supers are overpowered. At least with Blade Dancers I have a chance to kill. Titans and Warlocks have an essentially unavoidable super. That said, PVP is still fun.

Got 4 people who've cleared the vault. Anyone here who's 27+, have a void weapon and mic want to join?

Being familiar with the vault would be a huge plus.

if i get a legendary that's not for my class, can i pass it off to my vault for another character when i level it? or should i just break it down for the crafting mats?

oh shit, my man. gonna try this

I'd love a "Swat" mode with like

weapons restricted to (say) scount rifles and HC,extremely limited secondary weapon ammo, no heavy ammo

and no shields

If you will be making a new character you can put it in vault. I'd break it down for mats.

If you know you're going to lvl a class that will be able to use that piece of gear then save it. If not then break it down for ascended shards or energy and use it to upgrade other pieces of your gear.
