Just got an awesomely in depth email from IST detailing the problem with Hellboy Library Edition 4. Definitely was nice to see and hopefully they will indeed come through get it to me before too much longer. Either way, it was awesome to see such a detailed and honest response from a company for once, rather than the automated generic response you usually get.

Multiversity 2 was exactly what I wanted from the series. Really great adventure story with some damn fine Sprouse art. The only odd thing was Atom being like
"Yo, Abin Sur is fucking dead, man!" and then Abin Sur coming in later and being like "Yo, I ain't dead. And I beat the hell out of Count Chocula Sinestro."

Now that it has been a week, I can post this. My first original art page.

"Count Chocula Sinestro" LOL

I'm enjoying Multiversity so far and I'm really happy I get to read it month-to-month. This issue was just a ton of fun and I expect future issues to be even better.

No one mentioned it, but Comixology is giving away over 25 comics for National Comic Book Day. Some books included:
-Southern Bastards
-Translucid
-Stumptown
-A bunch of Valiant stuff

Guys, I didn't see that page! Tim, do you remember it?

Also, I just read Saga and that's probably my book of the week. I only have Outcast left to read.

LOW continues to have spectacular art, but I can't help but feel that I'm starting to not give a shit about the story. I was hoping it would have more of a Bioshock theme to it based off the previews initially seen, but now I don't even know what direction it's going in.

After this last issue, it's probably my least favorite out of Deadly Class and Black Science.

Yeah the dick kick page wasn't there, you better believe one of us would have noticed it.

His site says "ON HOLD" for the piece, so I assume either a friend or somebody else hopped on it right-quick.

Oh well, there's always the Quitely originals, right?

why CMX HD have higher resolution than a Digital only series like The Private Eye, I'll never know

It's a real bummer that people don't just go for CMX. PE offers its comics as PDFs, so you're stuck with iBooks or some other dreck as a reader. I bet it looks amazing in acrobat on a big iMac screen but okay who cares. I'm sure they have size and server use to worry about but, hey, CMX, problem solved. You're both millionaires at this point. I can't imagine their cut is too prohibitive on Submit and they're not going to censor your dong shots.

Don't get me started on Dark Horse's astonishingly bad IQ.

In this particular preview:

Everything is utterly flat with no sense of depth or volume. Amateur (inconsistent and/or arbitrary) or altogether absent attempts at rendering.

Inability to compose scenes. Instead we see a series of grimacing or shouting figures posed in spatial voids. Competent artists don't speak in terms of "backgrounds" (as though they're the half-assed shit you fill in behind grimacing muscle men) but instead see everything in a scene as part of a whole in terms of perspective, composition, etc.

Thoughtless sequential storytelling.

Hilariously inept attempts to illustrate technology. No vision, no concern with function of forms. Shit looks worse than the shabbiest videogame art direction ever shipped.

No consideration of the page itself as a composition (unsurprising when the panels that comprise them show the same issue).

No dynamism, no character, no style. Need more?

I dunno, I still found it more readable than this:

Rose's leg :/ I think I figured out everything that's happening on the third pass through.

Dark Horse's app and reader is a basically a crime against humanity.

Does the 25 free comic deal only work if you buy? I got a free comic and added the code on checkout but I didn't receive nothing.

lol i can't even with this
especially since ben caldwell LITERALLY wrote the book on cartooning

that issue of superboy was a god damned masterpiece

I'm not sure what I'm missing here. That was some confused, ugly stuff. It read like DC was up against a deadline and put the first person from Deviant Art to respond to their emails on their c-tier "the main series is cancelled anyway" event tie-in one shot.

Did he photoshop 4 different drawings together in that last panel?

I think his next two books should be on perspective and how to un-squish faces.

The thing about Low and Black Science for me is I don't think Remender's inner monologues work for adult characters. Like, "Those elected to care for the people... vindicated in their debaucherous apathy and by a pessimistic appraisal of tomorrow"?

That's just kind of... dumb.

I don't mind it in Uncanny Avengers cuz hey -- superheroes are kinda dumb too and can work in broad strokes. Same with Deadly Class because there seems to be an element of self-awareness there and I tend to be forgiving of ~teenagers~ in fiction (too much time spent watching giant robot animu I suspect). The issue got better towards the end, but I dunno if I buy Stella's whole optimism thing too much.

Should have gone crazy mode. I sent an email and maybe a week later after they apologized and I received all six Library Editions.

Now I'm under the assumption that they will always fart in my boxes before shipment, but I got my books.

I'd fart in your shipments. Straight gangster.
