Goddamn. Treasure Cave sealed I can live with, but no more ascendant materials for breaking down fucking queen gear? What's the point in doing those missions then. :lol

Found another one of the same Legendary sniper rifle I'm using now from random drop. Don't like to keep two copies of the same thing; but it's of a different element... To shard it? or to keep it...

5 games in a row where nobody but me got more than 7 captures in Control. Is it the March of the Morons today or something?

With how many points a team can get from kills vs holding points I am not surprised every control match devolves into team deathmatch. Might as well just call control Clash 2.

As a Sunsinger, if you die during your super, can you still revive yourself?

Nope, I usually save mine for when I'm about to attempt something risky.

In pve it could be like trying to revive a team mate while he's swarmed by wizards and in pvp it would be something like trying to rush a control point with 3 dudes at it solo.

I have a question how are you supposed to do these queen bounties to kill sepiks prime and devil archon? Patrol mode or is it on a mission?

What? If this as an exploit then you're saying for higher level people there is literally no incentive to do this bounties?

Bungie changed it for a reason.

But yes you have a point for higher level people. I thought you could get new legendary weapons from those Kill Missions though? Granted its just another flavor but some people may enjoy them over the other legendary weapons they already had?

how many hours in a day does bungie think people have and are willing to dedicate to this game?

some incredible decisions. wow.

This is just my point. They don't want people to play all day. They don't want you to feel like you have to rush to 29 or there's no point.

I'm at 27 and there's no end to activities I can do and, it's quite obvious now, the game is built to slowly reward those activities, not prompt me to race to 28.

They did not design this game to have an army of 29s standing on a ridge after three weeks of play. I think that's clear now.

I'm upset over Bungie's decisions and how they reflect the lack of a clear scope, but everything patched so far makes sense.

I really wonder what the first expansion will have.

As a Sunsinger, if you die during your super, can you still revive yourself?

Nope. Save your Super. If you die and you have a full meter, you'll get a message saying you can hit R1+L1 to use it.

In fact, I'd say all bounties were designed to be offered to different play styles, not as a menu of stuff to be zonked through every day. I think they definitely do not want people to play this game 10 hours a day. They want many types of people to have something interesting to do for 3 hours a day.

Also, they definitely don't want people at level 30 in October. At all.
Yeah, I have a similar thought and I do think that many (most?) more casual players than the average Gaffer will do that-- pick out the bounties, etc. that appeal most to them and do those and not feel compelled to clear every single task every single day.

they just fixed something that was far too easy to farm. i mean, come on, shooting fish in a barrel is no sport. i'm sure they have no issues with other areas where players actually have to move and aim at enemies

That's the thing though. There are plenty of other locations to shoot fish in a barrel that they DIDN'T nerf-The Vex vs. Fallen locations in Venus comes to mind(They both get dropped off by the cloud/fallen ships, not a cave). Mars has a Vex vs. Cabal location, areas where Cabal get dropped off by ships...those spots aren't affected yet. Plenty of locations, just a matter of time.
Why would you want me to have to mute everyone or opt-out before every game (or opt-in when I'm with parties)? That's putting a huge hassle on me.

I assume it's going to be a blanket opt in/opt out through options. Not a 'You have joined a PvP match! Would you like to turn off voice chat?'

...I don't think there's a game that does that, not on consoles atleast.

The fact legendaries you buy from factions also drop in the world, bothers me. There should be an entirely separate loot table. There simply isn't enough loot variety in this game.

Yep I agree with that too.

Same for Xur. Everyone gonna have the same exotics. He should have unique exclusive stuff. I have a Monte Carlo, soon everyone will because Xur. It's not a matter of wanting to be better than others there should just be some uniqueness. Give something the same stats with a different model and name, whatever that would be fine.

how many hours in a day does bungie think people have and are willing to dedicate to this game?

some incredible decisions. wow.

This is honestly the major issue. Loot doesn't drop nearly as often during regular gameplay as I would like, especially considering my limited amount of time to play the game. With the way it is now, I'm going to be mindlessly churning through the same content for hours upon hours until I finally get enough marks to buy legendaries.

I agree. At least they drop with different modifiers so it's not completely terrible. But yea more loot and more interesting loot, specifically legendaries, is needed.

Have they fixed any of those issues yet?

No?

Okay, then people have every right to complain.

I think his point was, "Don't complain about them killing the loot cave, that is a positive for the game overall. Complain that they haven't fixed the loot system."

And let's be perfectly clear here, eliminating that cave is good for the game. Period, end of story. That's not up for debate. What is up for debate and is subject to the ire of those on here is the lack of a hotfix to the engram system (including the Queen's missions).

So Queen event story missions are useless now with their legendaries not giving materials. Loot cave nerfed is not a dealbreaker, but the fact that they are not going to change the lootsystem is. Good job on listening to fan feedback Bungie. "Better portraying" how the loot system works is already too late, we know how it works, we're telling you it sucks.

Actually though
The one good thing about the cave fix I think
Is that Bungie seems to have an understanding of how the loot system is bad and might actually be thinking about changing it now

It was fairly obvious that the queen stuff wasn't intended. You went from maybe getting a few shards a day, to having like 50 in your inventory, lol.

Great patch notes/fixes incoming, ARs are way too dominant in PVP, and scouts are weak as shit compared to HCs.

Welp... Auto-Rifle nerf means I need to get new armor for Scout Rifle.

fucking shit.

I do have a full-auto Scout Rifle tho.

I guess ARs need tweaks because I've never used pulse rifles or scouts in Crucible... Not even once. Was having too much fun with my ARs. Will have to start learning other guns soon

If they are going to tweak Cryptarch rewards, I'm wandering if it might be prudent to stash purps in the vault for now.

The Cryptarch statement in the developer notes is so vague and self-apologetic that I'm also not sure what to do with engrams now.

Have they fixed any of those issues yet?

No?

Okay, then people have every right to complain.

I still don't get the problem. People that are just playing the game don't seem to be complaining, but the ones that are trying to exploit things like the cave, or the moon mission are complaining to no end.

I never farmed anything (save for fusion rifle kills at first when I was getting use to the rifle, the last one I did in one run of the night fall). I just play the game, and I have 4 exotic weapons, Two exotic armors, full purple armor including backups for switching between PVP and PVE builds, as well as purple weapons in most elements for most weapon types.

Play the damn game and the loot will come. I told this to one dude that was bitching and I made him play with me two or three times. Doing the night falls, weeklys, and daily's as well as a few bounties and he went up three levels, picked up a hand full of purples and an exotic auto rifle.

Play hard and challenge yourself. that is where the rewards are.

Seriously, what's the point of the Queen's Kill Orders now?

Those missions are freaking hard for anyone under lvl 25, but if you're level 25 you probably already have Legendary Gear equipped. Removing the possibility to get Shards from dismantling the mission rewards makes the missions entirely pointless.

Suggestion! They should have set it up so that by completing a Queen's Wrath mission, you get a Queen's Reward Token or something...Then you can use that token to claim any of the Queen's Wrath event items. That way, people like me can get the Sniper that I wouldn't mind having, and also it prevents me from getting 5+ helmets I have zero use for (since I can't dismantle them now because fuck you).

Damn I'm angry about this, haha.

If they are going to tweak Cryptarch rewards, I'm wandering if it might be prudent to stash purps in the vault for now.

I didn't understand it as tweaking the actual Cryptarch rewards, but rather making it more clear that a purple engram doesn't always mean a purple item, etc. That would be nice though, and it might be worth saving them.

"But we didn't adequately communicate the potential random outcomes of decryption. Players see what looks like the familiar metaphor of item identification, while the Cryptarch thinks he's opening a grab bag of loot. Rage sharding of blues ensues. Expect to see changes to address this soon..."

Sepiks prime is in the Earth strike, Archon is in Restoration.

I'm surprised that people seem legitimately upset that they boarded up the loot cave. Endless respawning enemies that easily mowed down is clearly a glitch/unintended exploit/whatever. It was just a matter of time before they axed it.

but you're not literally just standing there firing into a cave there. they still have a fast spawn rate, same chance to drop loot, only slightly more involved

So they nerf AR's and shotties because they are too powerful over too long ranges, then they buff scout rifles so they deal more damage over right ranges, BUT they don't touch OHK Fusion Rifles that hardcounter everything from short to long mid range?

Why would you want me to have to mute everyone or opt-out before every game (or opt-in when I'm with parties)? That's putting a huge hassle on me.

Ah, I wasn't considering it a per session thing. More like a toggle in the menu somewhere that is effectively "mute everyone in matchmaking?" that lasts forever. So you'd only ever have to hit it once either way. From that perspective I'd much rather it started with voice chat on for Matchmaking, just so there's a reasonable chance of RandomHunter200 in a Strike hearing me when I say not to revive me because I have 3 seconds left and there's 36 Knights on my corpse even if he or she isn't talking.

I do agree. The missions were cool but they're time consuming. Then once you get the gear there is no reason to do them other then the rep and yea that's not really worth the trouble. Course I hate how rare shards and energy are anyway. But that's just me.
