Nvidia Launches GTX 980 And GTX 970 "Maxwell" Graphics Cards ($549 & $329)

anyone knows the difference between this 970 and this 970?

also is that brand any good? im running low on options here, the card isnt even out where I live.

If they don't, I'll just send them back for a refund. They have quite nice returns policies.

If they won't sell the cards at £299 they won't just set the correct price and charge you. They'll cancel your order and notify you.

Go with Gigabyte G1 if you can afford it. Or buy EVGA, MSI or ASUS. Whichever is cheapest.

What would they do exactly to not honor the mis-pricing? Would they cancel my order, or just charge me the extra?

A few years ago I was in a similar situation and I received an e-mail from Amazon when the item became available and they corrected the price asking if I still wanted to order it. Rest assured, you will not get the GPU's at that price.

I have major anxiety right now... just purchased the 970 on impulse, which I never do. My friend convinced me to sell my 780 on ebay so i listed it and immediately made my purchase. How many people did this? i figure if i can get an extra GB of VRAM and not loose money in the process its worth it.. 780s seem to be selling for an average of $340 right now. anyone sell in this price range?

I sold a vanilla Titan a month or so ago for exactly that much. Then again, I wasn't able to transfer the warranty to the new owner, so had to give him a discount. Still have one of them left, and I'm thinking of putting it up now that the Titan Black I also had has sold.

I'm still so fucking pissed. Why? Why always me? I had so many problems with consoles, smartphones, TVs...why can't it stop? :/

well do you know any european stores that ship within europe? Im not buying from the states where the shipping and customs would destroy me

Caseking.de and Alternate.de(it may be available in your country, check at the bottom for the flag) are the ones I know of

I have used caseking to buy my enthoo pro since no store had it in Italy

but then I got my wii u premium on launch day for 199.99 from amazon. So what is it? there must be a chance :D

There is always a chance, it's not 100 percent guarantee they will cancel. A few months ago I got a gaming headset worth $200+ and was priced at $50 on Amazon for a few minutes. My item shipped.

The most recent case was a few weeks ago where you could order a Wii U pro controller for $10. Amazon honored it to various people.

It all depends if they catch it or not.

"Liefertermin unbekannt" means that the delivery time is unknown aka the product is currently out of stock.

raaaaaaaaaaaaaage

looking more and more like Im buying my new rig and sticking my old 580 in there until I can find a 970 >_<

If you manage to get it sold for that price I don't see why not really, a slight upgrade for free is not too bad.

But don't expect much more than getting that extra RAM, 970 (at stock speed) performs about the same as the 780.

It will run very cool and be extremely quiet though.

Finally got my 970 G1 and no surprise so far, it is very good. I wasnt planning to upgrade my GPU but i have no regret (yet) !
Here are some 3Dmark results :

and after an OC (1325mhz/2002mhz)

So far the only drawback is I now want to upgrade the rest of my PC...it never ends.

I hear you about that urge to upgrade, haha. I try to stay away from pc related forums for a year at least after I have established a new build.

So I got to play around with my 970 MSI for about 2 hours.

What a beast. 90mins of Remember me @4k60fps, no dips (except for engine loading related ones that I also got on my 7870) got no hotter than 60 degrees and stayed super silent. Just wow, I'm blown away.

And it's just so easy and comfortable to use DSR. Select resolutions you want to be available, click apply, done. I'm in heaven :D

Just ordered dat Gigabyte G1. Can't wait.

I want to game on my plasma TV so I'm thinking of buying a wireless keyboard and mouse. Do these things have any noticeable input lag these days? Especially the mouse. I never used them before. Looking to buy a Logitech MK270 combo, and I'll be staying just a few feet away from the PC itself.

Contemplating a 970, but not sure if it's worth the upgrade from a 770 that I bought a little over a year ago. My monitor is 1920x1200 and my tv is 1080p. I haven't really had any issues with recent games, but when I get around to Metro Last Light and some of the other upcoming titles it might be a different story. Also the DSR feature looks interesting.

Normally I go evga but considering the MSI card this time.

The prices of used 770 cards on ebay might make the upgrade that much cheaper.

Just got and installed my 2 gigsbyte 970s.

That's a very nice looking case. Way too many LED's for my taste though. :P

Well, that is exactly why i did it. I see that its pretty much the same performance (even though i did see it beats it out by a few frames in many games) and the extra VRAM. i think 4 is necessary now.

Overclockers.co.uk list european shipping options on their delivery page. Doesn't list price though, so could be expensive...

I'm in the solid case panel, no LED camp. My panels are lined with sound absorbing material.

If I could go back, I probably would've picked a more silent case than my Silverstone Raven RV02.

I still love this case though, the flipped motherboard and the 3 180mm fans at the bottom makes for great airflow and I can keep the fans at a really low speed at all times. But I wouldn't mind something that made even less noise.

I feel somewhat bad that ever since getting the 970 my gaming time has been dominated by Quake Live. :P It got its hooks into me again.

Just got my 2x 980s earlier today. Kept one Titan to use as a dedicated PhysX card and sold the other one to a good friend.

I'm ready for Project CARS, Dragon Age: Inquisition and The Witcher 3.

Man...I really want a 970. Is my Phenom II X6 1055T really going to be a bottleneck?

I really didn't want to build a new computer until DDR4 became standard, but it doesn't seem like that'll be happening any time soon.

Even with the new loadout system an that machinegun weapon?

I thought Quake was dead?

Yeah some of the changes are pretty bizarre, undoubtedly, but at its core it's still Quake and they'd have to do a lot worse to completely ruin it for me.

Like make it a UT game.

Hah, well I can imagine most games that actually have dedicated GPU physX as an option wouldn't even use 10% of that Titan.

The most I have ever seen on a GTX570 was about 30% in a game.

I'm aware of that lol. I told my friend I'd sell him one of my Titans when I got my new cards since I really wouldn't be needing both of them. I wanted to keep one for another build I plan on doing for a Steam in home streaming PC. I dunno when I'll get around to that so in the meantime, it's staying in the rig as a dedicated PhysX gpu. And at least this way I'll know that it shouldn't be limiting my 980SLI frames :P
