Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor | Review Thread - Welcome to Middle Earf

Cancelled my preorder when I realised I should probably wait to see how some of these games are received (aside from ones I'd definitely buy anyway like FIFA and Smash).

I've put that order back in now.

Im soooo hyped for this game, cant wait to play it during the steam xmas sale for $30. It looks like a great lotr themed game

Damn was hoping I wouldn't have to buy the game early on, since I'm starting up in Archeage and want to get Ethan Carter as well =x

Glad to see the game getting great reviews though!

Some real love for the Nemesis system on Twitter.

I wonder what it feels like to be the reviewer that releases their review the same time as everyone else and be essentially the only one to pan the game. That must be odd, I don't think I would handle that well

Dunno why that would be a problem, guy wrote what he felt about the game.

While Kotaku gave it a YES its not exactly a ringing endorsement across the board. Kind of wish they just did away with the YES / NO system altogether because people still use that system the same way they do with scores which kind of subverts the whole reason not to use scores in the first place.

I don't think he cares. If he didn't enjoy the game, he didn't enjoy it, simple as that really.

Well damn, I completely wrote this game off as a cash in for some reason. Now I'm going to have to go ahead and buy it at some point soon.

Woh for real?

I dismissed this one pretty early on, but if it's as rad as it apparently seems to be, I'll def be grabbing it.

I'm a sucker for LotR but I was rolling with a "you won't fool me this time!' attitude.

Man, I would've sworn the Nemesis system would be just some sort of gimmick a lot of games push in the marketing, seems it turned out really well.

One LotR game to rule them all indeed. This was one of those games that just screamed that it was going to be great.
I honestly didn't see it. It screamed middle of the road to me. My initial thoughts were a licensed, b-tier, Assassins Creed knock-off. After being disappointed by Destiny I may pick this up as a positive surprise.
