That Silver Surfer x Galactus one is from an actual story.
I wonder if Maiolo is gonna stay onboard as colorist since McKone left the book at the end of the first arc.

It was Mike McKone for the first arc, some other DC in-house dudes are taking over, I think. I like Kitson too, not sure what he's doing right now though

see, that's another example of importance of colorists. On that book, you got Jordan Bellaire giving us LIFE
then you got the Mighty Avengers and D'Armata's like "hey did you like that weird flesh tone thing that made people look alien I did on Invincible Iron Man no well too bad niggaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

I was gonna start read that book once they switched from Land to Schiti and then I saw that D'armata's name was still on the book. yuck

I was actually about to ask if that dude has colored Land before. I forgot that there even was an ongoing Mighty Avengers book, and that Land was doing it.
And oh yeah, he's been doing Valiant stuff. He popped up in Harbinger a few times. One of the better artists that series has had

Should I get back on JL3000?
I read the whole line. I think XO Manowar is the most consistent title, Quantum and Woody is the funniest, and Harbinger has the best characters.

Man, I only read the first two or three issues of JL3K. But now I'm tempted to get back on that horse. Trade comes out October 15th, think I'll just grab that.

JL3K spoilers:
Future Barry got vivisected by a godlike supervillainess (who's since developed an... unhealthy fixation on Hal [and made him fun-sized]) and was resurrected in a new host body... only to be killed again, when Terry revealed his true colors as leader of The Five by snapping his sister Teri's neck and detonating nano-bombs within Barry to make an example of him to the others. After the team and Ariel returned to Cadmus as prisoners, Ariel secretly resurrected Teri but gave her bits of Barry's DNA to help them escape; now Teri has the Flash's powers without the memories to use them effectively, and it remains to be seen if Barry is completely gone or a part of him remains somewhere inside her.
Having read comics for twenty five years at least that makes perfect sense to me.

I stupidly picked up Batman & Robin Futures End thinking Tomasi had written it. Can somebody explain why Bruce suddenly looks like DKR Batman 5 years later? Has he super-aged 40 years?

It actually was quite cool, even I am interested in where it's going next.
Got around to reading the Superman FE issue as well, now I see why everyone was talking about Lee Weeks outta nowhere. Dude is a legend, book looked gorgeous. Why this guy isn't a top tier artist right now I have no idea. He even managed to elevate a Dan Jurgens script.

That Mike Allred issue of Solo is straight up incredible stuff. It's a love letter to Silver Age DC in the best possible way. Legit funny, charming, zany, and beautiful.

It gets better and better and that's just a page from the 2nd issue. Basically Max Lord formed a Justice League during the 80s that eventually disbanded. He decides to make a new super hero team working pro bono for the people and gathers some of the members of the JL when he was running it.
Hilarity ensues.

I loved the Justice League series. No stupid ass serious plots about infinity crisis (although I loved that too!). But yeah, they did what they did well.
The artwork was perfect, too.

Gotham itself is futuristic now. Remember in zero year when Bruce was a kid, his dad made those floating mapping spheres with holographs and shit. In the 90s(?). Holograms all up in this bitch. Zoom, enhance. Computer, cross reference spooky hideouts with clown themes - now I know where Joker is!!

I have so many comics to read and all I want to do this weekend is open up the Marvel U app and read War of Kings, Realm of Kings and Thanos Imperative.
I can't believe DC still don't have a comparable service. I'd subscribe to both in a flash.
I've been looking through the wikipedia list of Marvel events and the one we're just starting has me (prematurely and probably unwisely) excited.
Now it's obvious they're trying to make us think REBOOT but I don't think it'll be that. The problem is the direction they're taking this particular storyline. I can't see yet what the end game is. What are they trying to do? Everything points to reboot but I can't see Marvel pushing that button.

I was in the mood to read,, (well look at pictures). So I brought Scott Pilgrim, Vol. 1 HC (color) to work to re-read,, read it super quick. Forget how fast those books go. So good though, just super enjoyable and fun.

Maybe a pseudo reboot? X-Men in their own self-contained universe, Avengers in theirs. That's one way to resolve the fact that X-Men and the other superheroes don't really fit in the same continuity.
