I'm getting it from Bleeding Cool; supposedly X-Force #1 polybagged with the Deadpool trading card, and X-Force #2 featuring Deadpool's second appearance, have both increased considerably since the movie announcement even though there are millions of copies of each sitting in people's attics and TP reserves.

There is a lot of car issues here in ComicsGAF. I've been dealing with flat tire shit too so it must just be that time.

maybe it's jason todd doing it ohoho

So fucking hyped!

X-Men solo week (minus Nightcrawler):

Cyclops #5 was a great end to this comics masterpiece. God bless you, Greg Rucka. Cyclops will go down as a classic. Reading issue 5 was a very emotional moment for me, not gonna lie. Can't wait to see how the new writer and artist continue this epic journey.

Storm #3 was hilarious. She's such an angry, presumptuous, self-centered bitch. God, I hate her, and this issue was incredible.

Magneto #10 was interesting. Loved seeing the peak into his mind and the art continues to be spectacular. Not feeling this involvement in the AXIS event, though.

Can you already smell the nerd sweat?

UGH!

I've kind of mastered the art of knowing exactly where I'm going and who i'm checking out.

I've been also invited to a couple of industry parties this year so might do that and spend minimal time at the con but who knows.

Might even sell my badge and just go to a bunch of the parties.

Wow, I just made my list for next Wednesday. 14 damn comics! I am excited for them all!
Maaan,,, yeah,,, im at 18,, not including Wayward #2 and Bob's Burgers #2 im waiting for from last week...
There is only like 2 maybe that I am thinking of passing on,, everything else I am really looking forward to.

Also. I just sent in my books of the Month to Spike. God Hates my list.

Thanks for the reminder. I actually made an Excel chart to make it easier (yes I have a good amount of free time at work), otherwise come the end of the money im trying to compare and remember.

...I think we may have the same #1...

Votes are in,, had to go with thy heart for my 3rd place pick.. don't think many of you read it. :-/

Excellent.........

So all of you who buy comics weekly, do you have to place an order every week? Do shops also have standing orders?

I give him a list of all the Titles I want pulled every month. Just a one time list.. and I add or drop books from my list.
And I email him for specific issues that's not on my pull list that I want but don't want pulled for me every month.

If I have a huge week or don't want the book right away (or short on money for the week) I can let shit build up in my pull box. That just starts complicating things tho.. lol

Uh, pretty big news in the legal world of comics today.

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=55819

Deadline reports that Marvel and the family of Jack Kirby have settled their legal battle in advance of the Supreme Court taking the case into conference. A joint statement has been released and reads as follows:

"Marvel and the family of Jack Kirby have amicably resolved their legal disputes, and are looking forward to advancing their shared goal of honoring Mr. Kirby’s significant role in Marvel’s history."

Didn't they sell something like five million copies of X-Force #1?
Yeah, but only one million of those had Deadpool trading cards. They're practically a scarcity.

So, I just learned we're already getting a Turtles in Time trade in December, so that's cool. One question that I noticed though: there's apparently a 2014 annual, but I can't seem to find it on IST like the 2012 one, and Amazon only has a kindle edition. It definitely seems to exist though, since people have it on ebay. Anyone know what's up? Have my IST search skills failed me or something? I'm sure I'd be okay skipping it considering what the first annual was like (pretty much just a classic TMNT story set in the modern continuity where nothing too important happens), but I'd like to keep my "complete set" running.

Only two days til Long Beach Comic Con (and no car troubles for me... yet)!
I'm really excited. I'm ready to spend a decent amount of cash, so it should be fun. I'm mostly looking forward to getting Next Men #21 signed by Mignola and checking out all the booths.
There's a really cool Image panel on Saturday, but it's on Saturday. I'm not totally sure what panels are on Sunday, but hopefully there'll be one or two good ones.

Also, I've been sucking at reading comics the past few days, so I've barely had anything to post about. Every time I read the thread and don't see anything to reply to, I feel my post count ranking dropping.

Well, shit... as much as I'm glad Marvel and Kirby's estate were able to put this to bed, I am really disappointed that they didn't hold out for a ruling that could have given legal precedent to all the smaller/lesser-known creators that have not been appropriately compensated for the creations that have generated billions of dollars of revenue for the comics industry.

But maybe the writing was on the wall and the Kirby estate was told that they would not likely receive a favorable ruling from the supreme court (or that the case wasn't even going to be chosen to be heard on Monday), and they settled with Marvel instead, who would much rather be on the right side of the Kirby family and the fans.

There's most likely a gag order (or whatever you'd call it) within the settlement, though, so we'll likely never know what the terms are they agreed upon.

Have a great time, man! Oh, and if somehow Mignola happens to have any sketches still available and you're allowed to buy more than just one for yourself, pick me one up and I'll PayPal you whatever it cost! :D

Was wondering if anyone going to NYCC could do me a favor and pick up a few prints. Of course, I'd pay for the expenses for print and mail.

And I'll definitely do that!

Saga #22: If the relationship drama between Marko and Alana becomes the worst thing about the book, what happens to your opinion of it then?

Things probably weren't looking good for them after the Siegel and Schuster ruling.

So, I got in my IST order! Hooray! Some Sonic/Mega Man, Wolverine & Jubilee, and a whole ton of Transformers.

So to confirm, since this is my plan: Does going through Transformers by starting with Last Stand of the Wreckers, then alternating the two series up through volume 5 in each (IE Vol. #1 of More Than Meets the Eye followed by Vol. #1 of Robots in Disguise, then back to MTMTE for Vol. #2 and so on), then Dark Prelude, then Dark Cybertron make sense? It sounds like a good plan to me, but is there anything wrong with doing it that way?

I use a site that basically works in the same way as a pull list at a comic store. Get those delivered weekly. That's supplemented with the purchase of one-shots, specials and other odds and ends from ebay.

As long as you start with MTMTE after Last Stand (since it has the one-shot that establishes the new status quo), you should be good.

...i gotta hit up my comic book store. They have a big stack of X-Force #1s still polybagged.

$1500 in car repairs two weeks before Comic Con.

I, too, have had car issues. Was rear-ended. My car is currently in the shop being repaired. Repair cost was $3000 but the at fault driver's insurance is taking care of the bill. I should be getting back my car today! :D

I have a pull list set up with my LCS. As long as I pick up my comics once a month, they'll take my business. I go there every release day though.

They have pull lists in stores. Comixology has subscriptions.

Thanks! I ask because I haven't ever bought any ongoing series and Guardians 3000 is very tempting.

Can I be in the car-problems club too? Someone broke into my car last week and stole my stereo/speakers... I've had to resort to listening to podcasts on my phone while driving since. =/

Sent in my picks for books of the month. I'm not letting this get past me a third time in a row!

Oof, sorry to hear that.
