Finally got to finish the bounty for super good advice, looking forward to using it until I find some other exotic weapon I'd rather use. Feels good.

The amount of materials needed to reach level 28 isn't particularly large. Unless you're pushing all your gear to 29 (why?), you don't need a ton of shards.

On top of that, I'm not sure people have realized that higher attack does precisely fuckall for you against enemies of a lower level, it helps if you're fighting higher level enemies.

Or to put it another way, if you're blowing all your energy and shards upgrading all your weapons and armor, you're wasting them for no good reason.

Armor in particular should only be capped if it is either a) raid armor that goes to 30 light or b) you're pushing to hit 29 so you can do the hard mode raid.

Otherwise you can reach 28 reasonably easily (especially easily now that queen is giving you free chest/helm, that means you need a whopping 65 marks or 130 marks to cap out in armor depending on what xur has for you).

Once you're 28 you can do the weekly nightfall easily, and all other existing content outside the hard mode raid without trouble.

If you want to do the hard mode raid right now, then yeah, you're going to have to triple farm dailies and weeklies with three capped characters, but for literally any other content in the game, you do not need to do so (and frankly, doing daily and weekly events on three different classes sounds a hell of a lot more fun to me than farming engrams, ymmv).

The sheer amount of misinformation and FUD being talked in this thread is unreal, I think I'm going to take a hiatus for a few days until things calm down or we get a dedicated gameplay talk thread in community or something.

There's very little point in attempting to ask or answer gameplay questions in the OT when the majority of posts are throwaway rants that we've seen posted literally hundreds of times.

On top of that there's a ton of misunderstanding, confusion, or outright false complaints about the way loot and progression function in the game. A lot of that is on Bungie, they fucked up by not laying out progression clearly, but the information is out there, if you care to look for it.

Hell, a lot of the information is right here in linked posts in these threads, but again, it's drowned out by the noise.

I came to the conclusion in the bolded recently, but it's *sort* of a catch-22 if you want to have an easier go of doing the raid. However, I agree that leveling up all your stuff to cap is a waste if it doesn't go to 30.

Also, your posts are definitely not getting drowned out, they've been fantastic for me.
 
About to start the raid with some gaffers (EU timezone, GMT+1) there is atleast one free spot, if anyone is in tonight (and tomorrow probably) send me a friendrequest: JinjoNL

Defender Titans take preference over anyone else.
 
i'm tempted to try the new loot cave, but i think i'm done with it. fun while it lasted. maybe if i need a couple quick engrams to hit a new cryptarch lvl in a pinch.

I'd have to defriend you. That would just be too much for me to handle. I'd be teamshotting you while you weren't paying attention in raids and whatnot even though it wouldn't hurt you.

Yep I got the Vision of Confluence primary scout rifle from the raid that does solar damage. Also fires in auto. :)

No problem. I have both helmets and do use Gunslinger a lot in PVP. Bladedancer is actually one of the more fragile supers.

I think I found another "loot cave" but I'm afraid to tell anyone because I dont want it to get nerfed. I use it not to get loot, but to finish the fusion rifle bounty (kill 2 mobs with the same shot). You are so close to the entrance, that the fusion rifle works....

Because it has the high impact high stability stats of my PvP fave Shingen-E, only with better skill adds, better range and a bigger clip.

You do get the best rewards from the raid though. But you don't get shit besides that. No rep, no marks, no xp (I think), and almost no glimmer. I started the raid with 900 glimmer and finished with 1800 glimmer. After all that. Wtf?

WE'VE WOKEN THE HIVE is basically the thing for that bounty. Takes all of a minute to accomplish when you're there. It's also the best way to do things like Super Good Advice's 500 machine gun murders. I'd recommend that for those sorts of purposes.

Really hard to answer since we dont know exactly how good the Bad Juju and Thorn will be once they do get buffed. I can say this... I've done the Thorn and Invective bounty and the invective was easier but neither are too difficult. The Bad Juju bounty sounds like a grind and not much fun.

Bad Juju's perk is pretty terriable, and the grind is horrific
At least thorn can actually do dmg, and its bouty takes less time to finish
 
Hmm, should I spend 23 coins on the Suros exotic if I'm already sporting a fully leveled up rare Suros?

Decisions, decisions. I'm leaning towards yes since there is no Titan helm from Xur and that's all I need for armor right now.

Can anyone post what all of the upgrades for it are? Or link to it on bungie.net if they have it equipped so I can see?

It's also really good for the 20 triple kills with one super power move. With the Hunters' Golden Gun ability, you can knock out three before you suicide yourself if you're a good enough shot.
 
Just got to the final boss room on raid hard mode. Along the way we discovered two very interesting things.

- We got loot from the second chest, even though 5 of us had already opened it in normal mode. We didn't get anything from the first or third chest. The guy who opened the second chest hadn't gotten it yet in normal mode. So our theory is that the team can get loot from the chests in the raid twice if the guy opening the chests is doing so for the first time.

- We found a way to cheese the second part of the Templar. We positioned snipers all over the map, including the platforms where Hobgoblin Snipers spawn, and just shot all seven waves of oracles. With this strategy a team can cheese the second phase, and then proceed to use the known united relic strategy to cheese the third phase.
