I'm getting all ready for Long Beach Comic Con. I'm so excited for it.

Have fun! Attending conventions for the first time always felt daunting. So many things to do and so many things to see. The one thing that ALWAYS happens to me is when I read or talk to others regarding their experience at a Con I just went to and there are things that I miss out on, I think to myself "damn, I wasn't doing anything during that time frame and I could have gone to see that or buy it."

My city is having our first ever comic convention in mid-October. I'm not sure how the attendance will be but I'll probably just go there for one day. Some of the special guests that'll be there: Kerrigan Mahan (voice of Goldar from Power Rangers), Blake Foster (Blue Ranger from Power Rangers Turbo), Yanick Paquette (DC artist), Khoi Pham (Marvel artist) and a few others. I'm mostly just interested in filling up my convention sketchbook. :]

Edit: Looking over the comics coming out this week again, looks like I'll pick up Gotham Academy, Thor (maybe the Fiona Staples variant cover) and Guardians 3000. Is no one else picking up the latter? I haven't seen it on anyone's list on the last page.

It's a really great book. I had to check it out when I saw it described as "one of the best books Image is currently publishing". If you're shy, or ever have been, or kind of used your hobbies and stuff to insulate yourself from the outside world, it's going to seem like the book was written specifically about you.

It would be interesting to see guest appearances by the civilian identities of the Bat-Family. Bruce Wayne, Tim Drake, Cass, Steph, etc. Not in every issue but every once in awhile.

I agree the book is bad but in the beginning it sold better due to harley being in it. She doesn't fit in with the Suicide Squad so the cynic in me believes dc dropped her in there to boost sales.

The quality of the book doesn't have any effect on dc putting Harley in it. Suicide Squad is still a shit book without her but with her on the cover it sells more. I am sure she is the main focal point on most of the covers.

I meant she joined the Secret Six. I haven't read Suicide Squad so I can't really comment on that. I like the concept but the general look of the New 52 version turns me off. I hope the new Secret Six is good, the last series is one of my all-time favourites. Really want to see Scandal and Catman back on the team.
