From a business standpoint, this needs to happen. I remember how awesome it was to fire up the PS4 for the first time and be greeted with Resogun. Driveclub is going to be much more jaw-dropping for people who are migrating to a new console this holiday season.

The colour difference here is due to the time of day/lighting, right?

I really love how this game looks when it's darker/muted/gray. That weather gif with the rain is truly the best thing I've seen, and it's mostly because of the colour/grayness.

They have been tweaking the game to the very last minute, which we can see with the gorgeous scenery. There was also a video showing a timer that penalizes you and some pointed out how quick it was. We've also been hearing about updates for weather and stuff like that. So it's not unfair to ask what the final product will be the day it's released.

Driveclub booth demo looked ok, a little bit of aliasing but generally good IQ. They also had a demo in the PS+ 'lounge' which looked terrible. Was a different demo so maybe older, and was on a huge 4kTV which might have been unkind to it, but it had aliasing everywhere

It'd be really cool if someone could merge all the different locations + weather + time of day into one seamlessly transitioning gif...

There is just something amazing about the vibrant green, chilly blue, muddled gray that just leaves me in awe. It's a variety that seems so perfected visually, and hopefully in terms of gameplay.

By the way, is it possible for puddles on the road to freeze, creating icey conditions? Because that would just be awesome

Only played GT for a few hours when I borrowed it from a friend in like grade 7. I liked the whole customization and unlocking cars and stuff, but I really did not understand cars at that age.

I should really consider getting into GT6 before GT7 comes out.

I'm prepared for some middling reviews, though I hope I'm wrong. I can see the game being docked points for the car count, the countdown timer, the somewhat bouncy collision physics and (for reasons I will never understand) the lack of an open world. Also, I have yet to see a journalist post a video in which they exhibited driving skills worthy of respect, so if there's too much skill involved or if the cars get as twitchy at speed as they seem to, then the game will lose points. Also, people that suck at racing games tend to prefer the kind that have content unrelated to the act of driving, which Driveclub lacks.
Who knows though, I could be wrong and maybe people will respect the game for what it is: a racing game that focuses on racing, preferably with a group.

Martin Robinson's reviews are the kind you can trust.
Sadly, it seems he's left Eurogamer, so he probably won't enlighten us with a DriveClub review...

Everything I've seen looks great - but release date embargos always worry me, especially when it's a game that has no story to worry about being spoiled.

If the game is good, and by all accounts it looks fantastic, I don't know why Sony/Evo wouldn't want a weekend of good word of mouth before the game hits on Tuesday.

I should have probably qualified that statement by mentioning that I stopped paying attention to racing game reviews years ago, instead relying on forum members on places like GT Planet. I also completely forgot about some of the specialist sites like VVV. The unfortunate thing is that those guys aren't timely with reviews. No matter though, I already have Driveclub and Project Cars paid for. I'm all in on racing this fall and am now waiting for the T300 RS to go live on Amazon. Let's do this!

With any other publisher I'd be worried, but Sony was super cagey about TLoU: Remastered and I thought that went well. Worse case scenario I've paid $50 for a game that looks like it will still be fun to play with a group of like-minded people.

I hope the anti aliasing or whatever they have is actually there when I play the game. I mean, I'm looking at these videos and thinking holy shit. Then I read certain comments and I think ok maybe it doesn't look like that, my mind is playing tricks me. but the off screen vids are right there.

Fuck I want to see this running on my ps4.

wow, afternoon.. the lighting is insane in this game. You can 'feel' it all around.. the bounce or however they are doing it is incredible.
