New Driveclub gameplay

I think a correction of expectations before launch may be a good thing. No way was it going to live up to the hype of downsampled b-roll gifs. So now that everybody hates it, we can be (hopefully) pleasantly surprised next week.

People are already back to loving it after Rapier started posting videos from his retail version. The gifs you're seeing now are all from that.

This game looks amazing and it seems they nailed the handling. The only thing I don't like is that car reset timer is too aggressive. It should be more lenient, there is absolutely no reason for the countdown to start like it did in this gif

I think they will patch it down the line.
 
Some statements I feel are quite justified about the down sampled footage we've been shown.

It's all about managing expectations I guess. I'm sure I will be very very impressed and will thoroughly enjoy this game, I would probably have just been more impressed if I had not of seen those videos. (not gifs). Also people trying to say the recent images compare to the images from that video are either lying to themselves or really dont understand what AA is (not saying your not entitled to your opinion).

But as someone mentioned its good to have my expectations in check before the release (why would they apply another round of AA with a day one patch?) sooo much more to this game than just visuals and the impressions posted seem really awesome. Still really excited , cant wait to play those in race challenges, they sound like they could add real depth to the gameplay.

This white ps4 bundle looks great.. needs a driveclub sticker and it's perfect.

Now you can have the best of both worlds.
 
I have some Qs

Do you think 11 variations of tracks & courses for each location are good enough (volume-wise)?

11 new tracks will be released. Does this mean we will get a new location?

Is the 3 seconds timer for a penalty or some kind of assist?

Where is OT?

3 seconds is how long you have to get back on track before it resets you.



Many of us are asking the same thing. Radec called it but he hasn't been around as far as I know.

I have asked in the other thread but what do you think of the Thrustmaster T80 wheel?Do you think the Driveclub edition might be better than the T80 itself?Anyone use this wheel with the PS4.Anyone buying this wheel for Driveclub?

100%. The only thing I'm concerned about but they'll probably patch it after. Maybe there'll even be a setting to turn it off?
