I'm really into this one.

If you have high enough levelled players, class on normal mode doesn't really matter, you'll steamroll it, but on hard mode, with no respawns, specific subclasses will make it a hell of a lot easier to get through. My group was struggling to get past hard mode for the longest time, until they decided to effectively put in place a Hunter ban and made the requirement to join our hard mode group to be either a Sunsinger or Defender Titan. I'm not a big fan of banning classes, but I will admit that the restriction has given us great success in hard mode.

I agree. I am a Hunter myself but its weak shit in PvE. You can't effectively use your super. Without Revive even the invis is useless.

Hunter needs a big PvE buff, or I might change up (recently got sick of PvP anyway) but too bad I sharded all exotics for other classes.

My three favorite pcs of gear:

I'm not sure if "favorite" would be entirely accurate here. It was the first Exotic I got at around 25. Working my way through leveling it up. Got the stability upgrade on it. I like how it chews up dreg and thrall mobs. Wish it did more crit damage. Maybe once I fully upgrade?

Was hoping to get the Knucklehead Radar helm last week from Xur. Someone here said (if you are gonna buy the Exotic Engram too, DO IT FIRST! Great advice. Cryptarch turned it into this, and I didn't really need a Suros Regime (since I have spent so much time trying to upgrade my Hard Light) so I saved my coins for this week.

My trusty rare hand cannon from before Hard Light. I have more powerful weapons now, but this one was my favorite for a good while.

I wouldn't discount Gunslinger in PvE.

At the moment, I see fewer reasons to bring a bladedancer into VoG comparatively.

So I'm curious PS players.. how did the Dust Palace and Multi Player map wind up being?
Dust Palace is all right
But I think the bigger thing for us PS'ers is the exclusive weapons
Aka Hawkmoon

Guys, can you transfer Strange Coins between characters through the Vault?

Dust Palace strike is just like any other strike, really. Nothing about it stands out.

The Exodus map is nice, though. I like it, the action on Control is great because of that B flag location.

dust palace is fairly nice up until the boss(es), where it's a matter of preference whether you like 3 bullet sponges or not. but it's not a typical strike in that it's vertical progression vs linear, so that's a plus. i like how your teammates are always nearby and it feels very fast-paced compared to the other ones.

exodus blue depends on how you play. if you like running around with shotguns and blade dancer, this map is for you. design wise though it's 3 straight paths with a bunch of corners and crates on top of it; in other words, not very good.

I just noticed that the number of kills (16,751) that show on my Guardian summary screen are way less than the combined totals of kills (Earth - 14,800, Moon - 6,039, Venus - 4,806, Mars - 2,523 = 28,168) that the Grimoire says I have for each location. I considered alts, but neither of my alts has even 1,000 kills. Has anybody else noticed this?

Hmmmmm...

I noticed during cave farming that Grimoire seems to count kills by those in your vicinity kind of like XP. I have 5600 kills as a Titan despite being a Warlock for example.

Dust Palace has my favorite Strike boss in the game. Instead of one big thing that shoots at you contantly, it's three smaller bosses, each with a different element shield, that take cover and chase you around.

I like Dust Palace Strike, I think its about the third best for me.

I sort of enjoy the map too. Its not as good as Shores but its better than Bastion and First Light, but what isn't?

Bro Ive been trying to get a group together to get this crap done and everytime something happens. ill be around about 6:30 or 7 eastern time if youre still looking. Lvl 27 almost 28 sunsinger warlock with arc and void snipers ready to go as well as a Swarm with solar. Im geared up and ready, just need a fireteam..

I'll be on till 5 est and maybe back on at 11 but I mainly play very late very early est add me - luchashaq we will find a third lol

I just knock them off the map with a rocket launcher and call it good.

Honestly. I'm torn. The map meh. The strike I'm torn on cause it's boss make up is interesting compared to other strikes but the final bosses while interesting can be a pain in the ass. The trash spawns I think need to be tuned a bit on that. It can be fun though and as you get to 28,29 etc it's actually pretty easy even with the annoyance with the trash.

Preventing crazy amounts of hunters in hard mode is always a good idea.
True, as cool as they are, Hunters contribution in high level PvE content is limited. They can't offer the rest of the team buffs and they can't self resurrect if shit hits the fan. If the classes ever get given a 3rd subclass Hunters need to be something useful, so that you don't see the rest of the hardcore go down the same route as my group are going and impose a Hunter ban in high level PvE content.

Welp, I know what I'm doing next time I get this strike.

It's even easier if you double-team them. Rocket their feet and they fly up in the air, then have someone punch their face in to send them flying. Do it near a railing and they will fall and you'll be done in no time.

Cool, I guess I'm never doing hard raid then. :<

I hate it, I'm not a hardcore PVP person though.

Be nice if your shield actually served a purpose, I'm always gunned down so quick I can't react.
It's a team game. Learn the maps and stick together for greater success. Once you know the land it gets much easier.

I feel like making another post on how crap the Thorn is and how it boggles my mind that it is classified as an Exotic.

So here it is;

- The Xyor Strike was ridiculous with the insane amounts of Shielded Majors thrown at you. Xyor himself then was a complete joke. I threw a grenade in the general vicinity of the dropship he came in on, and apparently killed him without ever even actually seeing him.
- Having to kill 500 Hive enemies on the Moon was a boring grind and would have been even more horribly slow and tedious if not for the "We've woken the Hive"-exploit the creators of the bounty probably had not intended to be used.
- Thorn has the lowest possible Impact stat for a Hand Cannon.
- Thorn Reload Speed is abysmally slow and also probably the slowest of all Hand Cannons.
- Thorn has a tiny Magazine Size of 6 bullets.

- Despite the Bounty requiring you to kill 500 points worth of Guardians in Crucible with Void damage, the Thorn does not actually deal Void damage, or any elemental damage at all.
- While Thorn has a slightly higher Fire Rate and slightly better Range than most Hand Cannons, those advantages are rendered useless by the very high Recoil / low Stability.
- The only choice Perk that could really address any of the weaknesses is Perfect Balance ( "This weapon has extremely low recoil." ) to combat the recoil a bit, but the key weaknesses remain and drag the weapon down.
- The first fixed Perk ( Final Round / "The last round in a magazine deals bonus damage." ) is only of very limited use as the atrocious Reload Speed makes it very unwise to go into battle with a tougher enemy while holding only a single bullet in your gun.
- The unique Perk ( Mark of the Devourer / "Rounds pierce targets and cause lingering damage over time." ) might go some way in improving the damage the Thorn deals, but the piercing rounds are, like Final Round, very situational ( in this case due to not being able to control enemy placement or enemy player movement ). The lingering damage also does not stack and shooting an enemy you already 'infected' will not reset the timer on the effect if it is still active.

This isn't an Exotic, it's just a crappy Hand Cannon with a single unique Perk that might make it usable in certain situations. That's not what an Exotic should be... An Exotic should be a great gun with one unique perk that pushes it above the other great guns, not a crappy gun with one unique perk that turns it into a potentially decent gun in specific situations.

The buff Bungie is planning better be significant.

Why do these shots look like they are from an N64?
