Bungie needs to introduce Transmogrification so we can go back and collect the exclusive gear that nobody ever wore. they look so much better than the end game gear I keep seeing.

What does the crest look like with a different shader? Literally, every TItan I've seen with it is using Chatterwhite.

Here you go.

Shaders from too left to bottom right:

Beowolf, Thunderdevil, Rosegold, Lunar Elegy, God of War, Chatterwhite (for comparison).

The bounties for completing strikes with no deaths don't help anything. Walking Tall should have been about the most kills or most loot gained/found, not about completing it unscathed. Bungie constantly overlooks the sheer douchebaggery that can be accomplished online.

Clearly not since bungie decided people being dickbags on voicechat was too grievous of a problem so they banned all voice chat outside of personal fireteams..... Instead of idk.... maybe making a Halo 3 like mute feature that takes all of 2 seconds to do? Why not just ruin social interaction in a social game because some people can't handle it and don't feel like muting.

It's one of the more annoying design decisions I have with Destiny.

Killing all forms of voice chat instead of implementing an easy mute option is like having a cockroach in your house and burning the house down instead of killing the bug.

Opt in is a start but I hope its advertised enough. I'd rather have it opt out imo. Most people Opt out of gamechat for party chat anyway.

I think something you might want to consider putting info on is the 'ideal' method of hitting 29 with the least amount of "wasted" shards.

Like, is it possible to get to 29 with one maxed exotic, one maxed raid gear component, one untouched legendary and one regularly maxed legendary? That would reduce the shard usage to some degree, and I *THINK* it would work?

30+30+28+22 = 110 and IIRC that's enough for 29. You could run normal raid to get at least one component first before going, since the shard grind is...extremely unfun in many cases.

For shard usage I'm not sure what this looks like (I'm at work), but in my head this looks like the most efficient manner of getting about it?
It's certainly possible yep. Raid gear has base light basically like you've upgraded a regular piece 1.5 times.

The thing is I don't know how to characterize that as ideal. You cay "you could run normal to get at least one component" but it's pure RNG. I didn't get any armor on my first run through (though I still have Master Ath to kill ;)) so it's not like I can really control my progression through raid gear at all.

The approaches boiled down are basically 1) save shards to be spent only when you DO get raid gear, or 2) spend all shards ASAP on normal gear to hit 29 ASAP.

really can't wait for voice chat in PVP.

I'm thinking of shouting world star whenever I double melee someone.

Thanks mate, that is my fear as well.
Guess i'll go with the one on the left then, the safer route might be better. :)

Yeah that's fine buddy, I did some pop culture T shirts a while back and most are fine, it's mainly on symbols that you may get into trouble for.

I am always hitting the glimmer cap and have to buy ammo and such. Haven't used one glimmer buff ever. Maybe I'm just stingy?

Buy ships, shaders, and Sparrows if you're looking to burn glimmer. Or the Queen's Primary weapon options are pricey too. They make good weapons for alts.

You could make any armor piece look like another piece of armor, usually provided that you've acquired it before.

Wonderful idea to promote creative setups and push away min/maxing armor setups. Seems like technically it will be too much trouble for Bungie.

I was in the middle of a tiger strike boss fight when my doorbell rang, and I had to answer it and talk to someone for 10 minutes. when I came back the firefight was still ongoing, and we finally beat the boss. After the mission ended the random's I was playing with decided to shoot at me for the entire 30 seconds until the mission was over...

That cloak is PS exclusive?

I just got two of them last night. Really awesome. Replaced my legendary cloaks.

My report player function has been getting a real workout these past two days. Ever since the patch dropped there are asshats who think they can idle for half of the strike and that the others won't notice. Nope. I see you.

I wonder what Bungie does with all the reports, though.

In terms of Strikes, is it better to have a Titan that is running the defender class as opposed to the default striker class?

I have a level 14 Titan, and it just seems like the defenders ultimate ability ( shield ) would be more useful in boss fights than the melee AoE ( I forget the name ).

Thoughts on which class is better for Titans for strikes? Thank you.

Defender. I only ever play Striker when I'm farming for engrams and leveling gear against mobs. The Hulk Smash blows as a super against anything but peeons. Defenders' increased armor rating, force barrier, and Ward of Dawn with its various gifts are far far more useful.

See my above suggestion, I don't think it would be too tricky to implement at all. The appearances are skins and are never modified except by shaders. The hardest part would be remembering the "base item" appearance so that this could be disabled in PvP where recognizing exotics has strategic value.

Thinking about just buying the weapon exp bonus packs from Xur. Need to level exotics. how much of a boost do those give?

I don't think anyone knows for sure. I'd love to do some more testing on this. When Xur comes, I'm going to check the bungie API for my current XP progress on a weapon stat, use a bonus pack and then turn in a 2500/5000 xp bounty and try to discover what the multiplier is.

Keep in mind I believe these only work for 30 minutes(?) so you'll want to complete 5 bounties, consume one and then turn all the bounties in to maximize your rewards. Then go straight into some patrol missions probably until it wears off.

Ugh that happened to me yesterday. Hated that guy.

Diablo 3 with far far more legendaries has it so I hope Bungie can put it in too especially with the limited selection of legendaries they have.

You guys talk like raid gear is easy to come by. I am level 29 by this "wasted" method you believe and I have done the raid 3 times on normal and twice on hard.

Not one piece of raid armour yet.

Nah, this is certainly a concern (and my biggest problem with progression at this point), because is busting the 20+ shards on a shirt you're gonna scrap a fair trade off for running just normal raid once weekly?

I dunno about you but if it wasn't for abuse of Queen DEs on the first couple days there, I'd have, if I'm lucky, 8 shards total.

Killing all forms of voice chat instead of implementing an easy mute option is like having a cockroach in your house and burning the house down instead of killing the bug.

Opt-in-mute is reactive. You have to hear something first to want to mute someone.
What Bungie did was proactive. You just can't hear anything useful OR hurtful because there's no voice chat between randoms at all.

So your analogy would be like burning down the house BEFORE you got bugs, because you MIGHT get bugs in your house someday.

Tried making a Titan alt but I play a little than switch back to my Warlock main because I like the style better and I dread the post level 20 grind. Thinking of using my two extra character slots to make two more Warlocks, get them to level 20, then trade my same exact gear back and forth so I can essentially do weekly stuff three times with the same character. Anyone do this currently?

Not one piece if raid gear n

Yeah, I don't mean to imply that shit makes any sense. I'm just not sure what the drop rates are, and what the trade off in time is for raiding weekly once (versus twice) towards 29 is compared to endless shard farming/mark purchasing of equipment just for DEs/other associated bullshit.

I guess the trade-off lies entirely with how much you play daily/weekly, and if it's worth the time for you to farm things like public events.

Edit: I should reiterate, my perspective for fastest is "least total play time", not "least amount of total elapsed time since I purchased the game", if that makes sense?

or instead of Transmog they could simply add a second set as Legendary pieces and put them into the lot pool.

Yep, I currently have an extra titan. I need to level another to 20 now.

are they the type that dont even bother following along, and/or go hide during boss fight and watch?

I got sort of accused of it during the nexus strike, because i was up high in the geometry, using my sniper rifle so i guess they couldnt see much in the way of bullets from me.

I was like.. dude you guys were running around killing adds, do you think the boss's health was just going down of its own accord?

._.

I wonder if it stacks with nightfall exp bonus?

next phase of my juju bounty is PvP I think it would do good for 30min of crucible.

I'm a level 21 Titan, and I've found that running Defender in strikes is the most useful. Its awesome for dropping a shield when you revive teammates so you don't get obliterated (especially helpful vs. the nexus), and it also helps if you aggro and drop the shield to draw enemies or the boss in while your teammates pepper them. I don't have the perk yet where your teammates refill health when they enter the shield, but once you get that I would think a Defender Titan is super useful in strikes.

Only downside is that its not nearly as fun to play as Striker.

Thank you both :)

For me it was either not using my shards and staying at 27/28 and only being able to do the raid once a week on normal. Or using the shards and getting to 29 so I can do the hard raid and therefore double my chances every week. Luckily I got a shit ton from the queens wrath before they fixed the easy shard farming. So it was kind of a freebie level gain for me.

It is ridiculous I haven't gotten one piece of raid gear yet. This is pretty much the biggest issue with this game.
