Wow I just got Patience & Time to drop in a vanguard playlist strike, then a Legendary Engram the next that turned out to be Icebreaker. Never got Exotics from drops before that!
Buy a lottery ticket, stay away from any thunderstorm, and don't go into the Pacific Ocean.

Why can't this ever happen to me?!

I quite like the queen shader on my hunter but after getting the leopard cloak last night, and seeing the gaffer post that camo picture of their hunter.. I need that shader whatever it is called.

thats a pretty common one you can buy from the vendor.

Same than last week for me.

Helmet Engram
Red Death (Exotic Pulse Rifle)
Sunbreakers (Gauntlets - For Warlocks)
Achlyophage Symbiote (Helmet - For Hunter)
Helm Of Saint-14 (Helmet - For Titan)

cool, thanks man.

Alright, so I bought Helm of Saint 14. I feel like it'd be great for my Defender build. Trouble is, I use Alpha Lupi right now, so I'm gonna have to get a different chest for Defender and use Alpha Lupi for Striker. That means I still need a not shitty helmet for Striker (fuck the queen's helmet, time to move up) and a not shitty chest piece for Defender.

So here's the deal, I have 112 vanguard marks. What should I do first: grind a few strikes to get enough marks to buy a vanguard helmet and then grind on upgrading that, or buy a vanguard chest and grind on upgrading that?

A choice between having a pretty much complete Defender or two almost-complete subclasses this weekend, I guess.

Since I'm curious how other do things, do you look at what they are doing when you get the invite? If I get an invite, I check where they are...Raid on Venus, I assume they want to raid. In orbit alone, they are up for whatever and just don't want to play alone. In orbit with 2 - 5, they want to do crucible.

I kind of thought this what everyone thinks, and usually just send out a "Play Destiny!" invite while in the area that matches above. If it's something super specific like "last boss in raid", then I'll put in the invite comment.

No, I just check the invite to see what it says (e.g., wanna run nightfall?). I'll start looking at where people are, makes sense.

And does anyone else use their phone for interacting with PSN? I use the app to check out invites, add friends, message people, etc.

So I have a question for all the Warlock players out there. How do you have your classes set up?

With Vortex I set it up for toughness at all costs, nova bomb with big radius (not split), vortex first granade, and nova bomb chip damage as long as people stay in the vortex.

For Sunslinger I set it up for toughness at all costs, first fire granade, self revive, burn damage after hit and wider radius.

How do you have it set up. Is the split Nova Bomb worth it?

I have void set up with split nova bomb, axion bolt(voidfang vestments), and maximum speed/recovery with blink. I'm pretty sure I piss people off with my blink/nova combo.

Sunsinger is sticky grenades, self revive, melee shield. I know for a fact I piss people off with the stickies. Postmortems for life! Also, maximum toughness/recovery.

Did you do any crucible on your alt? Also, did you just stick with the hard modes and do bounties? Also, did you do anything with the grimore bonuses?

I did 1 Crucible bounty, but decided they take too long so just stuck with Vanguard and the easy Queen's bounties. Only did hard mode, did some patrolling killing everything and a tad bit of farming to to see if I'd get lucky with a chest. I had no idea Grimoire bonuses did anything so no. :p

I'd grinded out level 2 actually because I saw a chest I couldn't reach as I hadn't unlocked double jump yet :lol.

You'll basically end up having to go to the tower every 1 or 2 missions. Postmaster will give you easy bounties as well.

Yeah, I'll always respond to a message, but a blind fireteam invite could be for anything, I have no idea how to distinguish so they're often unanswered :(

Honestly best thing to do is just hop in my PSN party or invite me to one and then ask out loud about whatever you're doing- this doing interrupt current in-game activities and if we're not gonna do whatever it is at the time, we can just hop out of the party no harm no foul. PSN party functionality also seems more reliable than Friend services/messaging for the moment.

The problem is that accepting that "Play Destiny!" invite immediately takes you from whatever you're doing and throws you into a loading screen, then the activity the other person is doing. You don't know WHERE someone is in a Strike, if they're looking for help with a Story mission or just want to do something after it, they're thinking about some Crucible, on their way to or from the tower when you're headed the other direction, etc....

That's what I mean though. Before accepting a "Play Destiny!", I always go through my friends list to see what they are doing and with whom. It's good to know that everyone doesn't think this way though. It makes more sense now that some people don't join my in orbit, an then go to someone else's in orbit and go play control. I'm sitting there like...I would have played control :(. I'm in orbit sending a request, I'm up for whatever.

what shader are you using?

Achilles. Only shader I have that's decent on my Warlock. I've liked every shader I've seen on Hunters though outside of the purple ones that look ridiculous on everyone.

Why can't this ever happen to me?!

No kidding. I've never seen these amazing exotics people seem to get from Crucible or a random ass Vanguard strike. Some folks just have all the RNG luck.

I think I crossed some line in the game yesterday . I was doing the 25 strike thing for bad juju and as I was playing the same strike for the third time in a row. I literally asked myself what the fuck I was doing. I was doing the strikes well beyond the point where it was fun for a weapon I don't even really want.

The game is fun, yes... Else I wouldn't have spent 50+ hours. I will do some raids and maybe a few upgrades but I think that will take a few days max. And then I will quit the game until some content patches arrive. And yes, I hope for patches because I am not willing to pay for the content that should be in the game right now.

So I think when driveclub launches, I will play that and return to tlou. Kinda sad seeing that I bought the game just 2-3 weeks ago...

I think it's best to have a Legendary for each armor slot. there will be times when you want to use different Exotics for different situations.

that might mean you'll need to use the queens stuff as a stop gap until you have a replacement

One thing I don't like about exotic gear is that they often seem to have intellect and nothing else. I understand that most people are all about faster super times, but I'm much more interested in my melee/grenade abilities/buffs and how they feed off of eachother; it makes moment to moment gameplay much more interesting to me. Maybe I just don't find the supers very interesting.

Pick a faction that is heavy on the other stats. Dead Orbit for instance has gear that is 100% about Discipline and Strength. None of their gear gives Intellect boosts.

Yea, I recently did that with my Warlock, definitely happy there is at least a faction for that. Just wish exotics were more varied is all.

Not even done with the bad juju bounty and I got the option for another one. Only had Invective left out of that set. Thorn was the first one I chose.

+1

I hate that shit too. I always send a message first before I start with invites.

edit. It really doesn't help that messaging on ps4 is complete ass though.

I miss X-Box Live so much. I also despise "SO AND SO HAS JOINED A PARTY" that completely blocks my radar in PvP at the most crucial time.

I really need to see if there's an option to turn that off.

That it... Xur is useless.

I wanted at least a Chest Engram.

I want weapon engrams. Do I dare hope?

my experience is as follows:

Soloing a mission/strike: One man war machine of death and destruction.

Partying with a fellow gaffer: Kill self with own rocket launcher/grenade, fall off every ledge to my death, fall behind because i was picking uo drops, dat few second silence when party wipes over some trivial mob.

Does you good to laugh about it.

Wow, and here I thought it was just me. I get all hyped up when solo and do great! The second I join another gaffer I seem unable to correctly throw a grenade, jump on things or not shoot myself in the face with my rocket launcher.

Yup. Meanwhile I get a legendary void sniper for leveling up to vanguard rank 4 when I already have the void sniper from the raid. Thanks game.

I'll try to post this every few pages.

XUR IS HERE

Other than that, if you need a few coins... they may come from Blue Engrams.

There is. Settings -> Notifications. It was annoying me too so I turned it off a couple days ago.

Quick question. Whenever I select the daily heroic (and up it to 24), it says one of the rewards is a Cryptarch engram plus ascendant energy, but I never get an engram.

Anybody else having this problem?

Every time since the update. I'm thinking it just means you have a chance of getting the item. I don't know.

Why are most Exotic weapons useless?!

I have the Last Word and compared to the Devil You Know in PVE, it is a joke.

DYK has higher impact, double the range, and a lager magazine!!!!

Shouldn't TLW with a higher fire rate and lower impact have a larger magazine at the very least?!?!?!?!?!??!

All of this translates to a gun, that in terms of raw PVE damage output needs a major buff.

Ditto. I am not sure why it works that way. I'm guessing it's one of two things:

1) You know you have "backup" and can take more risks bouncing all over the place and trying to rip shit up.

2) You want to show off for your new friend and let him/her know that you can ball with the best of them.

For me, I think it's a little of both.

I noticed the same thing last night after running the 28 daily heroic. All I got was ass energy as a reward, no engram.
