As a reminder.

Idk man, seeing a good amount of people who support this shitty example, it could happen. New low standards for all!Let's hope noone else follows this example.
I've decided to not buy this game, to avoid bullshit and stuff.
LOL at the image, but the scenario described is possible. The game can be so cpu bound that it takes away time from the GPU so you end up with less time to handle graphics. This is basically what Mantle showed us, but to achieve higher framerates instead of resolution.
There's nothing wrong with not liking the execution, but people take this way too seriously. If I owned a PS4 and read this news, I wouldn't care. If I've been waiting to play the game, I'm not going to skip it all of a sudden just because they held back on the PS4 version to reach parity and prevent arguments
Assassin’s Creed has been locked to 900p/30fps on both platforms to “avoid debate.” There is no debate: everybody agrees that is stupid
Expect it to be common for these major AAA blockbusters. Maybe not a Far Cry level of blockbuster but for games like:Let's hope noone else follows this example.
At least we then knew for certain that we're now living in bizarro world. If I saw genuine evidence that games were being gimped on the PS4 because Microsoft wanted it that way, I would be mad.

Well, in that case, why are we all paying the same premium price?![]()
Are the majority of the audience people who would notice his friends version is 1080p whilst his version is 900p?
C'mon, any news regarding resolution is for those who care about it.
If you are in-fact CPU bound, increasing resolution comes for free* until you reach the GPU ceiling.oldergamer said:Ubi hit parity by needing more CPU. Not because they couldn't make use of performance in PS4's GPU.

But I don't see that here. I see a developer using the word "parity" to describe the resolution being the same, but according to people here he just outed a secret he wasn't supposed to?
Aren't Ubisoft games infamous for being shit on PC anyway?
Any gaming sites up with comment on this?
This thread is such a shit show. People cancelling pre orders if the resolution is slightly lower than 1080p? People trying to tweet every major gaming site? Saying it was a ms moneyhat?
It's pretty obvious the ps4 could do 1080p. But making this big of a deal out of it?
This is why gamers get a bad rep imo. Well this and gamergate stuff.
i wonder if the backlash would have been the same if they hadn't mentioned their reasoning, and just said what the resolution and framerate were.
Didn't Respawn say they had to knock down Titanfall's resolution partially because they were CPU bound as well?

This is the same company that said they couldn't add female assassins in because it would be too hard. Did people really expect them to work on increasing the resolution of the PS4 version?
from the crew delayed thread. I lawled.
So they intentionally forced parity in order to avoid debates? FUCK OFF UBISOFT
Seriously Ubisoft should really catch hell for this.
I know all of this, why are you telling me what I already know.
I would think the majority of audience would not care at all. Do you really think majority of people care about resolution at all? I certainly dont think they do

You PS3 and 360 analogy doesn't make any sense.
When one game is 30fps and the other is 60fps there is a massive difference. Sniper Elite 3.
Now if only they'd limit the maximum PC resolution to 900p so that PC gamers get the hint and stop buying Assassin's Creed.

Making such a big deal out of something that has a small impact on your experience is stupid. It's anti-consumer. This is not why gamers get a bad rep. You should probably do some more research before making such broad generalizations. Let's start with bigotry and swatting before we worry about "not buying" something.
