So in short:
guys, we are cpu bound
but the gpu part runs at 100fps
...
here's your 900p
Not just that, but it's running at 30fps too, so 70fps of performance cut due to weak cpu's. All npc's should have the A.I of F.E.A.R soldiers then.
Here's how the next week will go.
The anger amongst the internet will pick up steam.
Games journalists will laugh and claim that everyone are idiots for caring about this.
The internet public won't care about what the journalists say.
Ubisoft will retract the statement and claim it's pushing both systems to the max and that resolution hasn't been locked in yet.
The game will have a patch for 1080p on PS4.
The games journalists will once again prove that they are becoming largely irrelevant and don't speak for the public.
It's been a long time since that happened.
Am I hallucinating or did you post the same thing earlier in the thread?
Yes he did but no-one took notice, apparently he's been quoting a dev who's making an xbox game as gospel over more neutral or (multiplat devs).
IF ubi said this
''Our devs teams for both platforms managed to achieve 900p 30fps, we did aim for higher on both platforms but due to the massive scale of the crowds and Ai in AC:Unity we were bottle-necked by the CPU on both platforms''
They would have far less problems.
Then they would be lying, is it me or are people upset that this piece of news came out the way it did? I'm sure the guy might be fired, but at least we got the truth of a practice that many have suspected for months now.
40% that we can barely notice while playing. 40% is a significant number, but is it that significant in pratice terms?
I will not argue "numbers", but I do argue what I see. I am yet to see the PS4 showing something that makes me see it as a much stronger console. Last gen I saw horrible differences between the PS3 and XB360, and that never made the XB360 MUCH stronger then PS3.
Such as last gen, this gen I would say XB1 and PS4 are on the same "class". I know one is more capable then another, but I still cant see how that difference is that big.
You can't see the difference between xbone vs ps4 multi's, but you can spot the difference between ps3 and 360 immediately, this is how you quantify the differences "horrible differences". It is a fact that multiplats were generally within a couple of frames and much much less resolution differences last gen. It's one thing to like a platform, but it's also a good thing to main a fair and level head in these debates.
Props to that dude for being honest but I think he yolo'd a little bit too hard lol
Lol, you know what, for his honesty alone I'd give him a job.
I mean this is crazy. I wouldn't let any game pass QC that does this BS.
Also, i hope we never doubt insiderp again-
Seems like all the persons doubting that parity exists have heard it directly from a publisher.
Huge overreaction in this thread.
Do we know any of the other facts? Do we know that there is parity with all of the other grapical settings as well? Maybe its 900p on both, but we will see differences in other areas like shadow quality or something?
I mean I get it, going with the lowest common denominator for parity's sake is extremely lame, but its not like its going to ruin the game. I'm not saying dont be angry at all, but don't let it ruin your day lol.
Edit: And yes I am kinda pissed about this, I think its really lame. AC4 obviously looked beautiful on PS4 at 1080p, and WD at 900p looked noticeably worse. I'm not going to cancel my PS4 preorder though. Can't go PC either, dem Ubi ports...
You don't know the state of the game apart from "what we do know". People are upset on what was recently revealed by Ubisoft on this subject, but you want us to think of an effects and shadows differentiator that may or may never exist. You say you understand why persons are upset, but i'm not quite sure.
It isnt, looking a few feet away at a computer screen you can see the slightly more blurry image of 900p vs 1080p depending on the game (the new lord of the rings games the 900p difference is less pronounced due to the AA method).
When viewing from 5-8ft in 40'' tv I cant tell the difference between 900p vs 1080p, It is less of a difference then many PS3 vs 360 games, that did have noticeable problems when viewing from 5-8ft on a 40'' tv.
The only games that have a big as a difference as 360 vs ps3 games is cod ghosts BF4 and MGS:GZ.
360 was the defacto multiplat console to go to last gen. Where a lot of games did have noticeable graphical shortcomings on the PS3 version which did make it a less enjoyable experience
This gen its not the case aside from cod ghosts and to a lesser extent BF4 and MGS:GZ .
Bottomline is when i watch the DF + gamesyde videos of recent games on my gaming TV I can only see the difference when the pointed out to me, going back and forth between X1 and PS4 videos I cant tell the difference.
How did you know the games were less enjoyable on the PS3? Did you play both versions of every multiplat you bought?
Where was this so called righteousness of not buying the game because of parity when Bungie did the same thing with Destiny? And that game is marketed by Sony.
We don't even know if AC : Unity features better graphical effects, more stable framerate on PS4 than its Xbox counterpart but you guys already going nuts.
Talk about picking your battles.
Many people called bungie out on the whole destiny debacle. Why are you so hang up on how certain people feel about this appalling behavior and course of action by a dev, do you think it's better to just stick around and accept this in submissive fashion. The last time I checked ubisoft is not giving this game out for free, I'm guessing consumers who spend their hard earned cash are privileged to withhold it based on evidence or admission of scummy practices.
