People aren't mad at the resolution difference so much as they're mad at the reasoning for the resolution difference. The vast majority of the people in this thread aren't threatening to cancel their preorder for the game just because it's not 1080p.Some of you guys are hilarious. Allowing yourself to miss out on something that might be fun because of the lack of a resolution difference between some consoles.
Has anyone considered that maybe they don't feel it is worth their time to (read: ROI) to optimize the game to run better on PS4? For every forum poster that isn't picking up the game because of parity there are 1000 that have already pre-ordered.
And it would have been 90% full of "No shit, what else did you expect?" and "I don't really care, it's a small difference and I want to play co-op with my friends on Xbox"
Oh no! The debates!
You and a lot of people are missing the point.
It's not that the resolutions are the same. It that they pretty much admitted that they purposely gimped the PS4 version so that it would be the same as XB1.
At least both versions will get the same score.
what is this.
So somehow them holding back the PS4 enhances the power of the XB1?Do we know this for sure though? Couldn't the game have followed the "792p vs. 900p" trend like other AAA Ubisoft games?

"Technically we're CPU-bound," he said. "The GPUs are really powerful, obviously the graphics look pretty good, but it's the CPU [that] has to process the AI, the number of NPCs we have on screen, all these systems running in parallel.
"We were quickly bottlenecked by that and it was a bit frustrating, because we thought that this was going to be a tenfold improvement over everything AI-wise, and we realised it was going to be pretty hard. It's not the number of polygons that affect the framerate. We could be running at 100fps if it was just graphics, but because of AI, we're still limited to 30 frames per second."
As an Xbone owner I find it fucking hilarious.

I just said I don't support parity. The PS4 is stronger than the XB1, thus it should get a port that plays to that strength.
900p for a PS4 game doesn't sound right unless there are actual REASONS for it. The Xbox One version of ACU sounds very rough, so we'll see how the PS4 version performs.
If performance on the PS4 version is lacking as well, then it will confirm what I said about this being more about engine/coding issues, and less about dastardly co-marketing and evil plots.
The funny thing is, if they had announced the game was 1080p on PS4 and 900p on XB1, this thread would be a fraction of the size.
Did you not read the article? Once again. You might be potentially right, but that's not what Ubisoft said. They said they are making both versions the same to avoid "debates and stuff".![]()
If MS succeed in pressuring all third parties in to delivering graphics parity, then it will only be the PS4 exclusives which make full use of the console. Writing off the superior performance of the PlayStation "because exclusive" worked pretty well with the PS3, so it would probably work with the PS4 too.I just don't get it though:
A minority of people have both consoles, so the two versions of the game aren't really competing.
ACU does have to compete with other games in the same genre, some of which will be making full use of the available hardware. For example, if they decided to gimp The Crew (not saying they would!) it would suffer in comparison to DriveClub and they'll lose sales. How does this strategy work long term?
I have no idea how to post tweets but:

You've had quite a few goes at this already, but keep going, and you'll accidently bump your head on the actual point eventually.
Everything is permitted. Expecially when you want money.
Brilliant.
If people keep buying into shit like that then it's going to start a trend of laziness in Ubisoft's games
Yeah, it's a real knee-slapper.As an Xbone owner I find it fucking hilarious.
While Arthur Gies is reviews editor? I fully expect the PS4 version to get a point knocked off for some bullshit reason.
what is this.
I'm also an Xbone owner and it's fucking disgraceful.
Sorry chaps. Only joking guys.Don't worry, it will come back to bite you some day.

I think people make too big of a deal over resolution rather than just enjoying the game as it is.
They never said they held back the PS4.
We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff
Wasn't that thread pretty huge too?why is this a 30 page thread on 100ppp?
They purposely made the PC version of Watch Dogs look worse by turning off the E3 settings that they left in the game from the start.
Oh right, who cares about PC. Dumb down a Sony game? This is war motherfucker
Ubisoft won't be releasing M-Rated games on WiiU anymore (after Watch Dogs) because nobody buys them.Has any game studio ever actually said it didn't make financial sense to do something? Seems like they go out of their way to avoid talking about how they actually go about making a profit on something.
So will AC movie Bluray only output in 480 so DVD owners don't feel left out?

so I only read page 1 then pressed reply..
but the way I read it, they say "WE ARE CPU BOUND, NOT GPU",
and they decide to lock down to same specs.
but xbone has a faster clock on the cpu, doesnt it?
