Looks like Driveclub PS+ Edition might not be coming today

1. People paid money for PSN Plus, a commitment was made by Sony, they dropped the ball and haven't said a word about why. People have a right to be unhappy.

This definitely won't be the first time it took long to fully update the store. I remember this happening as far back as plus has been around. It doesn't happen often, but it's happened before where the store wouldn't update until 8-9 EST.

That's the regular $59.99 version for non-Plus members.

edit: People are now claiming that the free version should be up within the next hour or so.
Yeah, it's probably a good thing they won't let plus members pay an extra $10 for no reason. People would very pissed...lol

2. They're not "giving" anyone anything, this is a service that people pay for.

3. Really?

4. Really?

They don't make any explicit promises as to what games they will provide (longer than one month in advance), nor do they guarantee they will be available at an exact time. You also didn't really pay for this because they've provided an extra game.

They also could just throw up crappy games every month and people would still pay for the service. But as an owner of PS4, PS3, and a Vita I have a huge backlog of high quality games to play because I think they've done a great job at trying to provide legitimate games and not just crap.

Anyway, instead of complaining I'm going to go try to get through some of that backlog

Honestly they should never have announced it as free. People that were on the fence about this were probably gonna get enough enjoyment from it from the Plus version.
Me included

Maybe this entire ordeal will be enough to FINALLY get someone fired from the stupid SCEA team that handles the store - this crap is ridiculous every time the store updates. They can't be pulling this stuff with a game that people are already reading is getting middling to negative reviews and want to try it out and see if they think it's any better than the review press.

I suppose it's what you get when you release a brand-new AAA title for free download to a userbase of nigh on 8 million people. ;)

If you ( you is in this case Sony) can't prepare properly for way less than 8 million users, than yes. But how is this an excuse?

Yup, I remember when Gravity Rush came out on Vita and the store didn't update till 11:50 pm est. Pretty annoying.

It's hilarious (and dishearteningly not surprising) that GCT hasn't yet been resolved with this new gen.

You don't walk into Best Buy at 10am and have them say "well, the game is in the back, but we won't be putting it on shelves until some random time between now and tomorrow afternoon."

Lol. You weren't around when the store didn't even update on a Tuesday were you? I think one time Europe even got their update before the US.

is this just the US store or do other regions not have it yet either? iirc all the different regions seem to operate on different timetables. some better than others...hence gaf coining GCT...sigh

I'm not sure why you guys are surprised.

Update 2.0 was announced 2 months ago and fuck knows what is happening with that.

Communication isn't exactly Sony's strong point.

That's why I'm saying maybe someone will FINALLY get fired over this, since it's been an ongoing issue. I swear, if I was as shitty at my job as the people running the NA PSN store are I'd be out on my ass.

Oh no, a free game is a little late so we should all boycott Sony!!!

Some folks in here need to chill out.

People deserve to get what they pay for. Everyone upset has the right to be. Hopefully someone at scea who handles this stuff gets replaced and we get a much more consistent result going forward.

No excuse. But I think it just needs to be put into perspective a little. Certainly it's not ideal, but it's like a hamster trying to have an elephant-sized shit - sometimes allowances have to be made.
I have no idea where in the scary and be-cobwebbed recesses of my mind that analogy came from, but it amused me and I'm sticking to it.

Actually, that happens regularly. It happened to me this morning when I went and purchased drive club.

the store doesn't have a set schedule, you guys need to calm the fuck down
It actually has been solidifying to 2PM-at-the-latest with much of it quietly going up beforehand. This is something different entirely.

But I'm feeling more charitable because they were trailing for quite awhile and haven't made as large of an online push as now. Even the 360 had issues a few years in but had mostly stablized afterwards.

This makes me really happy that I'm not giving them a penny for this game. I will download it whenever they get around to it, and earn a few trophies and if I still really want more racing after exhausting the scope of this game I will move right on to Forza Horizon 2.

Is Sony the poor little hamster? What are you even talking?

Really annoying since there's no preload on the PS+ Edition. Downloading 17gb will take me a long time and I was hoping to start it while at work and have it finish while I was at the movies tonight.

I'm sure they don't care being that you're paying them for the ability to even download the game. And if you want to play a worse racing game, by all means go for it.

No one cares.
