Looks like Driveclub PS+ Edition might not be coming today

It is kind of sad. They have been pushing this as OMG Free with PS+ for the longest time and now it releases and its nowhere to be found. I love Sony and I love my PS4 but their online game needs to step up to match the competition.

With the server issues this is not surprising.

When Forza Horizon 2 released last week they had a bunch of problems as well.

No one was ready for that driving thirst.

Yes and the winner gets a free copy of Drive Club.

Wait, maybe not a free copy of the entire game, how about a stripped down version
.
.
.
wait its going to take awhile to get it to you
.
.
.
little bit longer
.
.
.
Are you still here?

This seems most likely, to me. I bet after the reviews are maybe worse than they expected, they want the die hard fans to jump in sight unseen first before letting everyone who owns a PS4 (because who owns one and doesn't have PS+?) have a free taste.

Exactly what it is, most people will download it as just a demo and not spend a penny towards it

is this is why there are 3 free PS+ games right now instead of the expected 2 (which itself is a bump from 1 PS4 PS+ game per month)?

That will be me. But that's cause it has no Lamborghinis and I don't like that it will have MTs (and I'm not talking DLC).

So I'm not buying it cause I'm getting a demo. I'm not buying it cause I don't like things about it. But for free I'll at least enjoy playing a taste of it, not so opposed I won't enjoy the good size demo they are giving.

No, four PS4 PS+ games were always planned for this month.

The game has *zero* microtransactions.

No. There are three because Pix the Cat is one of the free Vita games, but it's cross buy with PS4 making it a free PS4 game as well.

I suppose it's what you get when you release a brand-new AAA title for free download to a userbase of nigh on 8 million people. ;)

Was looking forward to trying this out but after watching GB's quick look it seems very banal and plain. I dunno. Pretty yes, but not much else going for it. And no tuning, upgrades, custom paint?? Or is that coming in a patch?

Will still try the PS+ version and maybe I will change my mind but its unlikely I will buy the full version based on what I have seen.

This is kinda upsetting. I moved plans around so I could finally have a few hours of game time tonight. Oh well, now I've got extra gym and drinky time.

Grain of salt time. According to someone on their Facebook page who spoke to support this is indeed due to the server issues. Who's support he spoke to I don't know.

I don't think so. Their servers are jacked up. Can't invite people to a party, sending messages takes ages, etc.

And to boot, NONE of the social/online features that Driveclub is supposed to revolved around! are working. So yeah no point in driveclub if you wanted to form a driveclub and play with people and compete. There is zero online functionality with DC at the moment.

I'd say they're waiting til the game has it's #1 touted feature working. And for that, they're gonna need servers that don't explode when people look at them.

The PS4 store now says I'm not able to purchase the regular version because I own Plus. Interesting.

Probably because of the discounted Plus version being a separate item. That's the one you're supposed to buy. Weird how they did that. I guess it's good that Plus subs can't accidentally buy the $60 version.

The game is sure fun, though there are some problems. There isn't enough content, in just two hours I finished 1/4 of the events. The online portion of the game is completely broken, I was not able to log in since I bought the game. Server error everytime like it's offline.

Really? Than what is this about? Or has he recanted and they took them out? Cause honestly, I could see missing that news and if so, I'm happy about it. But last I checked, yes it does have microtransactions and the worst kind, the kind that let you pay to advance (the kind that encourage them to make the game grindy so you feel pushed towards paying to skip the grind).

I'm pretty bummed, but maybe it's time to take a deep breath and consider the following:

1. It's just a game. I will be totally fine if I have to wait a day or two more for a free demo version of a game. If I *really* wanted it, I would have bought the full version straight away.

2. Sony is giving PS4 users an extra game this month. They didn't have to do that.

3. The other 3 games are all pretty great, and on their own I should probably be happy about them.

4. It's just a game.

Can some one please point me to an article about it? Cause I honestly can't find anything when I try Driveclub microtransaction in google (The newest it finds is articles from May) and if it was posted here I managed to miss it (and threads here get buried so quick).

What?! I read there was a lack of content, but that seems amazingly light for a $60 racer. Sure you aren't missing more somewhere or that more doesn't appear after you reach a certain point?

1. People paid money for PSN Plus, a commitment was made by Sony, they dropped the ball and haven't said a word about why. People have a right to be unhappy.

2. They're not "giving" anyone anything, this is a service that people pay for.

3. Really?

4. Really?

If it's just a server issue then that's almost par for the course on launch these days. However, it is a bit weird they haven't mentioned the free version at all.

I thought I heard Drive club would be launching with firmware 2.0 Thursday. Perhaps that is when the PS+ version will launch?

What annoys me is that they continue to ignore it. The least they could do is acknowledge there's been a delay and that they're working on it. Its almost as if they think no one would notice.
