Looks like Driveclub PS+ Edition might not be coming today

Regardless of what the final product turns out to be in my hands, the development, marketing and overall handling of this title hasn't exactly been a shining example on creating a AAA racing game.

It's still unbelievable that Sony has these types of problems A. Updating the store on time regularly and B. Communicating when these games are coming out.

Dammit, I knew I shouldn't have bitten, but I bit anyway. Either way it made lol at my screen.

My .02c, it's weird to me that Japanese companies don't see to understand (bad term?) online/massive networks. Maybe they just are cheap and don't want to spend on better server load, either way it stinks that in 2014 we still deal with this crap. I would say that generally Xbox Live is run much better and faster than PSN ever has been. Let's not even jump on the Nintendo online bandwagon with their eShop either (yeeeech).

Exactly.

I also don't want to read about the "free" games. I pay for PS Plus; these games aren't free.

Free implies a gift. If they were a gift, I could keep them after canceling my subscription.

This entire episode has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Well at least I wasn't going to game much tonight because of the Giants game but still this is pretty dumb.

I listened for two months. I don't care about reviews from anyone. Gaming has moved past it.

Bitter? Truthful.

Whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

It really is. How can they not have an automated system where someone(even the publisher) enters the release date/time of a game and the store just automatically posts it then. I'm sure that's how MS's works, Steam too probably, not paying some lackey to change prices and click a checkbox every Tuesday.

It isn't an oops. It's intentional.

Opinions and all.

i kinda think its in purpose myself but thats just a conspiracy theory of mine of course.

To those on the fence...man guys, if you like Project Gothem Racing games you're gonna like this game, i guarantee it.

Also keep in mind all the upcoming support this game will get with new cars, tracks, events and the upcoming "weather add-on" pack. Like i mentioned in the other thread this game is going to evolve. Maybe it might be better for some to hold out until the weather add-on pack comes out and some of the additional cars and tracks? This could be an option as well for some of you on the fence ..just get the free Plus+ edition to hold you down until the game "evolves" a bit in the coming months. I am sure some patches will iron out some of the tiny issues the game has as well and make the AI even more legit.

I have the full game and i am totally happy i bought it, it reminds me so much of PGR games and the visuals are sooo beautiful!!

It's been a bizarre release. I'm excited for it, but after a year long delay I'm not sure that it wouldn't have been better to just release a few months later with all features available, and it's odd to read that even the social features are in low scale.

Maybe the word "nothing" isn't a descriptor. I can't articulate it well but it doesn't look fun to me.

Other people seem to be having fun with it though.

Ah. That's fine ofcourse, to me it got those couple of responses, like mine, because it was more the way it was worded and it's briefness.

Basically, it came off as "I watched it on video and it's pretty but it's got nothing to it" when it's a racing game on tracks, without specifying what it's missing for you. So it's easy to focus on the "it's got nothing to it" which reads like "where are the mounted guns or flying cars or some other "thing" that would make it more than a racing game".

But yeah, if it doesn't look fun to you, nothing wrong with that.

Well if that's true then that's still a load of crap. I don't understand how you can excuse the lack of information on Sony's part, especially when they have been emphasizing the Plus edition of Drive Club for more than a year. Ridiculous.

Well it aint cool, but I didnt plan my Tuesday evening around it. It'll probably be up soon, and whenever it is, I'll get it.

In the meantime <shrug>

Well I am disappointed that i'm not able to play this game. Was thinking about it all day at work today. Haven't played a racing game in years.

But seriously, though, guys, this is just GCT in action. This isn't even the only IGC game that isn't up yet (Rainbow Moon isn't up either, last I checked.)
This is true. I was just wondering where Rainbow Moon was...I have to say, I don't think this is intentional or a conspiracy for sales. It's just gross incompetence. Which actually in my mind is worse. God, why does Sony allow this to happen?

I'm really disappointed by this. I was looking forward to playing both of those games all day...

I bet for some dumb reason, Grace Chen has to log into the PSN in order to update the store, but even she is locked out because of the connectivity issues.

Would be hilarious and sad

The gamiest of games.

Anyway, where's my elephant has already been said. But seriously, where is it? I want to play. I went to pick the game up after work and my local store didn't get their shipment. I figured no big deal, I will just play the Plus edition until tomorrow. Guess not.

This thread...was there like some competiton to see who could overreact with hyperbole the most over the most mundane things that I missed?

In the back of my mind, I had a feeling this would happen. Driveclub hasn't gotten a break since they first started breaking the silence on it after the delay.

Sony hyped that this PS+ version would be Day One for members and such. It's a failure on their part that it isn't available to customers who were expecting this "day one".

The lack of any communication makes it much worse.

Probably worried about the load on psn for opening the download floodgates..

Yeah this is the most logical explanation outside of Grace Chen just forgetting it existed which is also plausible. Servers can't handle the load of folks who actually paid for the game, all hell is going to break loose when they let everybody willing to dload the 15 gigs or whatever it is play the game.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that they clearly exclude a PS game they`ve been touting since the day Playstation 4 was announced.

Typically, they respond to blog comments, they haven`t bother to today. Something is clearly up.

They fail miserably with open communication.

Got to get dem full price sales first

This seems most likely, to me. I bet after the reviews are maybe worse than they expected, they want the die hard fans to jump in sight unseen first before letting everyone who owns a PS4 (because who owns one and doesn't have PS+?) have a free taste.
