Looks like Driveclub PS+ Edition might not be coming today

On HK version apparently

The fact that there hasn't been any updates yet pretty much confirms to me that this is a calculated move and the delay is on purpose.

If it were something out of their control you know they would be posting constant updates.

I don't know why they don't have automated store updates instead of random ass times whenever the community guy feels like it.

seriously this. I feel like this 18.6 billion dollar corporation has one guy with a no sleeves button down updating the servers at his leisure

That would be incorrect where I live for a whole host of reasons. Can you link the US terms of service for PS+, or SEN if they are a part of the same conditions? I can only find the European ToS but struggle to believe they could be so different, even with the US's reputation for terrible consumer protection.

I'm actually using the EU terms of service as I thought it would be stronger.

PlayStation Plus Subscriptions
When you purchase a subscription to PlayStation Plus, the package of products in the subscription varies throughout your subscription period and some of the products may be available for non-subscribers to purchase. You may not be able to access all of the products that are part of the PlayStation Plus package. For instance, some of the products may be:
(i)compatible with specified Sony systems only;
(ii)available for download during limited periods only;
(iii)rated and inaccessible to Sub Accounts with a lower registered age; and/or
(iv)unavailable or unusable after your subscription period expires (even if downloaded before expiry).
These restrictions may be outlined at the time of purchase or at eu.playstation.com/legal. Please make sure you understand these restrictions before purchasing.

I think they're pretty clear that the package of products in the service can change at any time at their discretion (and they have modified the terms of the Instant Game Collection twice in the past). Where do you see contractual delivery of the IGC?

http://www.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/terms-of-service/ The US terms are here. Section 14 is the relevant section. There are no explicit protections. They reference individual protect terms that I honestly am not sure exist.

How do you not at least give people an update? Smh

Exactly. That's the thing I don't get. If they had just said from the beginning that it would be delayed a day or whatever, I would be initially disappointed and then fine because that's the reality. But we don't know what in the world is going on, and my biggest issue by far is that Sony is just sweeping this under the rug and pretending the whole thing doesn't exist.

Yea, I can't believe the number of times I've been disappointed at Sony since the PS4 launch.

This will be the first and last time I ever by a console this early in a gen :/

I'll buy the walkman off you, if you still have it.

With all these problems you having with Sony failures, you should sell it while you can get a good price for it. If i am unhappy or having issue with someone like you are having I would not keep it. There is nothing wrong in complaining etc, but you have been going on all day about Sony, in which some of your point are right. You should make yourself happy (sell it or donate it to a kid's club etc)

Completely false

Biggest release of the year so far was Destiny and that went on smooth as butter.

You know, I'd assume most of Destiny's impact really only affected Bungie's servers (outside of people buying the game, which was preloadable anyway), but this doesn't even equate. The bottom line was that Sony stated Driveclube would be a Plus game for the month, and people fairly assumed that meant they could grab it when the store, and the other Plus games, were up.

Either way, it seemingly has nothing to do with how the PSN works-- it's loading smoothly as ever and everything pops up as soon as you click on it. This isn't something that needs to be addressed from that perspective.

They're basically sweeping Driveclub as a whole under the rug.

They didn't tweet about it, or post on the blog once. It's launch day, FFS.

I feel like I'm sitting on the Tarmac and am not getting any updates from the pilot...I really lament the state of customer service from most companies these days

I usually buy my consoles well into a gen, (PS2 , 7 years after launch; PS3, 6 years after launch).

I guess I just didn't expect these first year woes lol

Just like sony to bait and switch!!! I'm so tired of their shenanigans!!!!

The $49.99 version is up on my PSN, which means they probably want people to buy the full game.

I assume those reviews made them think customers would just settle for the PS+ version.

Terrible if true :/

I understand man. However, you should not be that unhappy with anything. Sell it and wait a couple of years and then pick it up cheap. It's all about being happy and enjoying something you got.

These guys joke on the podcast how hard it to get a date or thing change last minute and it out of their hands.

Thats fine if you do have issues just let people know what's going on....

Just not saying anything leads people to believe you guys are clueless.

Fuck this shit. I'm just going to play Smash until Evil Within comes out, I don't even want to bother with Driveclub anymore. I was hyped as all fuck, but I don't have the patience do deal with this.
I work 12 hour+ shifts for my company and I have a small window to play games, so I'm not trying to act like an entitled child, I just have to dedicate my gaming time wisely and that equals a short temper with stuff like this

If it pops up on the store in the next day or so I'd love to give it a try, but this really bothers me. I don't even mind it being late-- it's the silence that concerns me.

haha, I was being sarcastic.

I'm thinking it's a more of a "never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence/stupidity" type situation.

I don't know if you've followed previous SCEA store updates....but they do not do a good job communicating.

I remember when some of us were waiting for this multiplat demo to release years ago, and it released on Xbox...but the PS3 version was no where in site. And they didn't say shit....on this other forum where the devs were usually active..but were hush in when it came to the demo and why it wasn't up..

eventually the devs (EU based) started to talk to members through PMs and said that they submitted the game, and it's SCEA that is taking too long to put it out...and if it wasn't out that day, it might be the next week. They said they were very frustrated with the staff over there.

so, I'm guessing that the reason Evo is silent is for the same reason...they can't speak on it publicly.

then wouldn't be better to delay the free download until they get the full version of the game running before opening the floodgates for + members ?

While you make a very valid point, the problem and the major fuck up on their part was Hyping the PS+ version so much with the reveal of this game. They promised a lot, and day one has been from all reports a major cluster fuck.

Sony really needs to step up and invest in their Server infrastructure.

Driveclub will still be there for you when you're done with other games.

That's the conclusion I've come to as well. Doesn't make any sense that the full version has been up all day yet they have trouble putting up the free version?

Maybe they are just delaying the PS+ version because the servers are shitting themselves for the retail game as it is, and letting a bunch of people play it for free will just make things worse for the people who paid money for it.

Ignoring the fact that your entire comment is hear-say, I don't buy it coming from arguably Sony's biggest second quarter launch. Evo isn't some third-party studio striving for attention and sticking their neck out for glimpses of attention, they're in the fucking spotlight. Sony would be wise to push this game as best they can, not have fuckups like this on their hand.

Lol at people believing what phone reps say.

Yeah. I remember a thread a while back where the original poster had his PS+ lapse and the person on the phone said they'd never be able to get those games back, even if they resubscribed. The poster said they explained to the call center that that information the call center provided was incorrect, stating that Executives such as Shuhei Yoshida have always said the opposite. The call centers response: Shuhei Yoshida is wrong. Seriously!?

Edit- Here's the thread. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=846956

@yosp Twitter is on fire now. Somebody needs to come out and say something.

His new Twitter avatar is fantastic!

That would be a reasonable excuse, but NO ONE has been able to play on-line at all as of yet. If the servers were being hammered that is because there are a ton of people on-line, but the issue here is that no one has been on-line and no one has been able to do any of the on-line things.

In order for the servers to be under stress would require people to actually be able to use them. From all accounts, the servers have just been down for some technical reason. I have heard of launch issues, but the servers not even reachable by anyone is something all new this time.

Hopefully things work out by tomorrow morning since I really want to play this game.

This is some foul shit man, been waiting to play this game, they almost got me to buy it too, but after realizing their probably doing this shit on purpose they can fuck off with this pos

Just got off the phone wtih Gamestop HQ, they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. Seriously? So I called Thrustmaster and they said they couldn't help me either. WTF they make the official wheel for fucks sake. These companies are so incopatent...someone give me another number to call.

Exactly. I get being impatient but people here are acting like Sony has their child hostage or something.

Well, I can understand some of the anger. A lot of people were probably waiting for this game to pop up as a free Plus game because they can't afford other titles, or aren't interested in other Plus games (even if it's "wahhh indie" type of BS), or so forth. It's been advertised for a long time, so the audience expecting it to be available the minute the store updated is probably underestimated, really.

I personally have been hyped to hell over this game and was hoping to try it out before buying since I've got half a dozen other preorders this fall, but today's events have soured my opinion and sporadic purchasing will. I really mostly feel badly for Evolution, since I guarantee this has absolutely nothing to with them. They want their game in as many hands possible, and probably expected the Plus edition to sell a bunch of copies to fence-sitters. I just don't have the patience, or the wallet, to mess around with that.
